Southside Coffee is a local hangout offering free wifi and comfortable seating, pastries and other goodies, light meal options, and every imaginable hot or iced coffee flavor and serving size. in fact, there are too many menu choices for me to make sense of them! I’m not a starbucks hound so I don’t know a venti from a small… all I want is good iced coffee with great flavor at a decent price. Southside has that. If you become a regular customer, make sure you ask for their«Frequent Caffeine Consumer» punch card. Use it when you buy a coffee – and after consumption of 10 coffees, you get a free one. Not bad. Live music and the presentation of local art for sale(usually photographic prints and paintings) makes this a unique and peaceful place to sit and sip, or work through your email. Seating on the sidewalk just outside the front door is often used by smokers – and the cigarette smoke sometimes wafts inside which is bothersome. But that’s about the only problem I’ve had there after many visits.

This is a great place to do homework/work with free WiFi. There are plenty of tables and outlets and the chairs are much more comfortable than the typical hard Starbucks chairs. Everything I have ordered food and drink has been fantastic. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of sandwiches, paninis, melts, bagel sandwiches, etc. I have yet to try the soups but now that I have seen many people order them I cannot wait to try them as well. My chai latte was perfect and the customer service was great. There are a lot of friendly people and the atmosphere is just comfortable!

This coffee place has all the ingredients of a great place to enjoy coffee: good coffee, friendly atmosphere and enough space that people can have private conversations or work on their«work» — without being molested by congestion or other people’s talking. They also have an upstairs area where you can sit, drink your coffee and look out onto the street. Should you wake up some day and find yourself in Lompoc, this is the place to go for your coffee.

South Side Coffee Co is a very large café with inside and outside seating. It’s understandably a popular gathering spot for all ages. Inside offers several settings with tables that make for great places to meet, work, read or play games. Extensive variety of hot and cold barista drinks as well as a wide range of cold bottled drinks. Lompoc blast is this coffee snob’s brew of choice. They also serve breakfast and lunch. I also like how they support local artists with revolving artwork(for sale) on their walls and occasional live music.

Cool place to do work on the computer and have a cup of coffee, that is decent. The building has personality that Starbucks can’t deliver.

Best coffee shop in Lompoc! Could tell this is a local’s favorite from the moment I walked in. Everyone who works there is super nice and helpful. Caribbean cold brew on tap is a must.

Neighborhood gem. Tried the white pumpkin latte with almond milk — no complaints. Lots of seating indoor and out.

Everyone has to pay the rent so I’ll stick to the coffee in this review. I bought some of their«dark roast» and although it is relatively fresh it’s bland to say the least. I hate to say it but the 12 oz bag of Peet’s beans I bought at wally world for half the price last week was leaps and bounds above this local offering. For reference I like to burr grind and press my coffee which I drink black. If you need a coffee shop vibe in Lompoc I totally understand why you’d come here, it’s still 100x better than Starbucks.

Great little coffee shop with reasonable prices. It had a little too much of an old-folks’ get together spot feel for my taste, so I wouldn’t hang out there, but the drinks were awesome. Definitely recommend.

Love how friendly everyone is. Personal opinion: you guys should stay open later on weekends, if not weekdays. You’re a Lompoc hangout spot! If you stay open till even 10, i can promise you that more people will come. Personal wish: food prices should be lower. I would buy food if it wasn’t eight dollars for a sandwich. :(

Their sandwiches are also amazing! They also have a signature pesto mayo spread on these and I normally pass on the mayo. But theirs is too yummy to pass up. The atmosphere here is also worth noting. This place is the epicenter of the community.

I had a delicious dark chocolate mocha yesterday. The staff was very friendly and supported such a great atmosphere. I saw a food menu as well, but didn’t have a chance to try it. Maybe next time. Cheers

Solid coffee shop in the sleepy town of Lompoc. We were feeling a little tired from a day of wine tasting and went here for a late afternoon pick me up. This coffee shop was super cute. Its huge and the type of place you could hangout in all day long. It seems like a local hub. The coffee was good better than Starbucks and the brownie was so so. We hung out here for about an hour until they closed. I would return here. The service was fine and it is a good place to stop in.

The latte was okay. Thus the star. SERVICEWASAWFUL. The tiny donut selection had long, skinny flies crawling across them. I told the girl and she said«That’s disgusting!» but LEFTTHEDONUTSINTHECASE to be sold! I got a latte and a coffee, and a stamp card. She stamped it once. The card itself says«Buy 10 coffee drinks of equal value and the 11th is free»… I felt weird asking about a stamp(the girl acted like I was an idiot the whole time I was there because I had to look at the menu boards, it being my first time there and all), so I waited until another, older lady was there and asked her… She said they only stamp for ESPRESSO drinks, not coffee, or «we’d be giving away free coffee all the time.» But the card says«coffee drinks.» I like the Starbucks rewards program better — ANY item counts toward rewards there. Then I bought two smoothies and she stamped my card twice. I guess those are considered coffee drinks in the Land of Making Up Rules Coffee D Bags. By the way, the smoothies are listed as Strawberry, Blueberry, Banana. I asked for a Strawberry smoothie and they said, «Oh, we only have one kind, it’s all three. But you can choose if you want us to make it with Orange juice or Apple juice. And we can add protein powder if you want.» I got one of each, and one with protein powder. If you insist on going to this place run by rejected cheerleaders, then I recommend the orange juice one without the protein powder — that stuff had the same aftertaste as a Flintstone vitamin. The reviews were so great, I had my hopes up. They did not make the cut. It’s a hipster place. Not going back.

I have to state, I not a fan of fast food coffee. This is far better than the empire called Starbucks. Support your local establishment. For the customer service connoisseurs out there, A+. Great job south side. Don’t forget the fresh salads and oh my god the soups, delicious!!!

Was driving from the Bay Area to So Cal and decided to make a coffee stop. A friend recommended South Side so that’s where we went… Very pleasantly surprised to find such a cool, hip coffee shop in a «smaller» town. Many of the coffee shops in San Diego try to do the neighborhood coffee, but South Side IS that neighborhood coffee spot! My husband got a white chocolate mocha and I got a strawberry Italian soda. Both were excellent! What a cute place! Highly recommend!

One of only a handful of coffee shops around Lompoc, South Side Coffee is located near the end of Art Alley on H Street. After indulging in some local art, be sure to indulge in local coffee! Easy parking: Plenty on H Street or around the corner on Ocean Ave. Large drink under $ 5: Yes Friendly staff: Yes Indoor seating: Lots of tables spread throughout the large dining/drinking area. Outdoor seating: A couple small tables on the sidewalk. Décor: Mostly neutral colors except for the local artists’ work gracing the walls, but most fascinating is the huge amount of local fliers near the entrance. People with laptops: No Hipsters: No Famous Faces: No Foam Art: No People watching: Decent In & out quick: Yes The challenge continues!

Great little coffee shop. Lots of local color. Very nice staff. Great coffee. And you can get something to eat as well(sandwiches, baked goods, etc). Occasional local live music on selected nights. Call and ask for schedule. Love this place!
