Well as long as you don’t get sick on weekends or holidays your fine, Otherwise you get to pay emergency room rates or suffer until they decide to open. Sansum is at least open when you need them.

Was with Sansum Clinic in Lompoc for many years but they could never keep good Physicians and every time a procedure or test was needed I had to go to Santa Barbara. That might not seem bad, but to me it’s a whole day off work. I heard really good things about Valley Medical and got the care of an Awesome Doctor I trust, all my care is done locally or at the new hospital. I’m healthier than ever and happier than ever.

After a super-​long wait for urgent care when I was the only person waiting for urgent care, I got to see the physicians assistant who set me up with antibiotics for a cough that was troubling me.
Shortly after this visit, and a round of antibiotics that didn’t really help me, I discovered the real diagnosis is that post-​nasal drip is getting in my lungs and making me cough. That’s what going to see a pulmonologist will do for you! Wow. And they don’t have one on staff.
I thought the PA was really cool, and I’ve been wondering if I ought to go back for other things in the future. Still thinking about it.
PS, you do need an appointment, unless you to to the urgent care clinic after hours from 5 – 8 PM. In any case, at least they were open and I could be seen. Unfortunately, I really needed to see a specialist.

Several years ago, taking my daughter here for check ups was a mediocre experience at best. BUT, now that they have Dr. Bodnar, an actual pediatrician, it’s great! We love Dr. Bodnar and are sad that we can’t see her anymore due to moving out of the area. We’ve been to Sansum pediatrics, and CHC. Both of those experiences left us not wanting to return ever again. There really is not many good options in Lompoc, so if you’re looking for a wonderful pediatrician, who takes time with your child, and thoroughly answers all your questions, GO SEE Dr. Bodnar!
