Excellent customer service!
What can you say about a car rental company that is so customer service oriented that when it runs out of cars, it gives a customer with a reservation for el cheapo compact (that would be me) a shiny new BMW 328i because that is all that is on their lot. I think that says it all. Thanks Alamo, it was fun driving that Beamer for the price of a Nissan Versa.

My family always gets our car rentals here and we love how quick and easy the process is. So to come on my own birthday to rent a car and have the front desk lady Raquel give us attitude from the beginning was uncalled for. I would say maybe it’s because it was almost 10pm at the end of her shift but even then I would never give terrible customer service like how she did. She tried to over charge us for the car and again for adding an additional driver. My family has the employee discount so we dont get charged for additional underage of 25 driver. We told her that we shouldn’t get charged and even her co-​worker standing next to her told her. Raquel still harrassed us and expressed attitude and said «Well I have been working here for a long time and I have never heard that» while she rolled her eyes. I mean I know I don’t get special treatment just because its my birthday, but her ridiculous customer sevice made me furious. Also not to mention the additional hidden charges she tried to pull off. If it wasn’t for my brother going over the contract before he signed we would have never caught it. My brother has been working for Enterprise for a couple years in different states and has been the top Salesman for the past 7 months in all of SoCal. With that said, he knows how to give the best customer service & I have been in retail for a couple years so I feel offended when someone doesn’t give me the same effort I put in. We usually love this place but now we have to part ways. Really disgusted.

Landed late on a transcontinental flight and didn’t appreciate a chatty, slow, and inefficient agent who tried several times to loop me into other customer’s conversations. That was just the beginning of a bad experience. I was rented a newish vehicle that turned out to have a broken trunk lock, which caused problems the next day. In short, don’t rent here and go to Avis or Hertz. You’ll pay more and likely get a better vehicle. Absolutely incompetent staff at every step of the way and Alamo’s road side assistance service is simply put, useless and unable to help with anything. Never again.

Amazing service. I rented a snow tire SUV that was delivered to my hotel. They also picked it up when I was done with it. I went to the interior so I needed one SUV that had snow tires and this vehicle was perfect. I am very happy with their product and excellent customer service. James took the time to suggest places to go and visit and also how to get there. Highly recommended.

There were no cars available when we arrived and the front desk agents, two of them, could not figure out how to operate the printer and change the ink so we, along with several other customers, ended up waiting around an hour while they figured out the printer issue then we waited another 20 min while they figured out a car to give us. Finally, we get a car which was a really pretty chevy convertible upgrade, however the front end was crunched and there was a plastic piece dragging underneath that was never noted on our rental agreement. We notified the lady of the damage before we left and she said that’s all they have and noted the damage but we had to drive around with a plastic piece dragging on the ground for the duration of our rental. We were late to the wedding we flew in early for because of this hassle. I am extremely disappointed in this rental and when I told the lady about our experience when we dropped off the vehicle she offered nothing but an «I’m sorry that’s too bad, he’s new» excuse. NEVER AGAIN, renters beware.
*Follow up: the management called me and refunded my money for the rental as an appology for the service I received so I increased the star rating from 1 star to 3 stars for trying to make it right*

I rented a car over Labor Day weekend and made the mistake of using Hotwire. After Hotwire messed up the passenger seating I called Alamo and spoke with Nikki. She was able to fix my reservation and made sure that when I checked in someone there could help me. I met with Rachel and she was so sweet and helpful. Sometimes renting vehicles can be stressful but Nikki and Rachel had such good customer service and helped me out so much that I will make sure to use Alamo in the future!

An update: I followed up with corporate response to my review believing it would really go nowhere. I received a personal phone call from the manager of the Long Beach location today. We had a very good discussion about the issues. Needless to say, I thought the personal call was great. It gave me an opportunity to voice my concerns to someone directly involved with the Long Beach operation. While some of the problems lie outside his personal control, he assured me that they would be looked into and worked on so this would never happen again. He apologized for the situation. The time he took to make the call and adress the issues went a long way with me and I appreciate that.

I made the car reservation on Expedia. When I arrived to pick up the car Alamo would not take my debit card to pay for the $ 140.00 car rental. The man behind that counter would only tell me that this was their policy and that it was on their website. I went back to Expedia and rented a car from Enterprise for $ 5.00 a day less than the Alamo price and paid for it with my debit card.

Despite the negative reviews I took it upon myself to rent from Alamo. I made my reservation online with Costco «great rate»! I purposely arrived half an hour early just in case any scenarios came up, I was ready to take on any dilema as previous reviews stated they were made to wait and service was horrible. I walked in at 530pm and no one was in line. I was greeted by Tom, great customer service, I was in and out in less than 5 min! On my return I was greeted by Mark in the parking lot. Due to traffic I was late returning the car on the scheduled time, he accepted the car grace period with no hesitation and informed me the update needs to be done inside. I went in the office the adjustment was made, he checked me out, and sent me on my way! I will rent again from Alamo/​National without hesitation! Car was great on MPG rented Toyota Corolla 2015.

In THREE DAYS I am waiting for Alamo roadside assistance for the SECOND time. Rented Nissan Centra and it wouldn’t start after I used the car for ONE DAY. It took me 4,5 HOURS to get help and pick up a new car. Tonight I am stuck with a new Toyota Corolla that Alamo exchanged me for Nissan and it doesn’t start after using the car for ONE DAY. It’s 11:40 PM and the road service supposed to arrive at 12:40 AM. Researched and learned that the company has low standards for the quality of the cars they buy and rent.

Alamo had the best prices on car rentals I had found. The rental agents were friendly and picking up and dropping off your car were a breeze. The car I rented was a compact car that got 30mpg which was great for my budget. There were several opportunities for a free upgrade, but the smaller cars fit my needs better so this size was perfect for me. I have picked Alamo for 5 of my last car rental needs and will do so again.

We were in town for NAMM and rented a car originally for 3 days. Customer service was great. We were given an awesome brand new car only 2000 miles on it. The experience was great. We had to add a driver and extra day but it was all seamless and the price was great. We will be back to this location for sure.

I wont give up using Long Beach Airport, but a word of warning… this rental location which I use at least twice a month for business travel, is Always out of Cars and there is always a wait for them to receive more while you are sitting there, they also don’t seem to follow any kind of order when giving out cars to people that have been patiently waiting nor do they offer any kind of upgrade or discount for the inconvenience. That being said, on a positive note they have a pretty nice selection of newer cars once they get them back on the lot and they take Debit cards.

I made a trip to Long Beach to see a friend and decided to rent from Alamo. Upon arrival the service was very fast and effecient getting me out of the office. I rented a compact car but I was given a standard size car. :-) I found the car easily and found it to be very clean and ready for me to go. The car ran fine and I have no complaints with it’s performance. Upon returning the car I was checked in and on my way to the terminal very quickly and with a smile from the attendant. My experience was very good with Alamo at the Long Beach airport.

We rented a Chrysler Town & Country (it was brand new) for our Disney vacation. Flawless transaction from the reservation to pick up to return. We would absolutely rent here again.

I admit, I’m a car rental rookie but when I needed to drive up north for a funeral, I figured I give it a whirl. My experience left me upset and feeling ripped off because the clerks who checked me in didn’t thoroughly explain the policies. This has seriously turned me off from ever renting another car. I had an issue picking up the car, which I should’ve taken as an omen and gotten a refund when they offered it. Instead, I had another issue when I dropped off. And only 1 of the 4 reps who «helped» me were even nice enough to care. I intend to also write a letter to Alamo directly. Rent from anywhere but here!

On April 25, 2014, I decided to rent a car for my birthday weekend. After running into trouble at a Hertz Local Edition, I decided to use Alamo at the Long Beach airport. Again, I was greeted by Raquel (front desk clerk). She handled the transaction with ease and I was on my way to Vegas again in a brand new 2014 Ford Fusion. Thanks to Raquel at Alamo, I’m looking to purchase a Ford Fusion in the future.
To the General Manager at the Alamo Long Beach Airport. You have a great employee in Raquel. Her customer service should definitely be awarded!

We paid for a Chevy Aveo, got a Mustang convertible with leather interior.
The desk lady, Raquel, was really nice, personable and gave us the comp.
The check out lady, Jen was so thorough in making sure the damage was written down. She was really fun to talk to as well!
Highly recommended.

Be careful to read their fine print if rent a car without insurance.
They claim if it is your fault or not you pay for a accident. I had a small dent in the car from another Alamo rent a car and it was their fault and they want me to pay for it.
This is absurd, they are shady, unfair and dishonest
