Breakers Hotel

My husband and I decided on a last minute break from our daily lives. We booked on line. The reviews were good. We received a confirmation call right away. When we arrived less than 10 hours later we were told the grounds and beach access were flooded and had to drive a mile in either direction. Why weren’t we told this on the phone? It is the highlight of their hotel. The disappointment kept coming. The room was so small you had to stand sideways to pass one another. No place to hang your wet shower (no water pressure) towels. The neighbors water usage was so loud had to turn up the tv. Parking was sparse too. Wouldn’t go back. Oh and the pool was green. We passed.

First off we Found garbage behind the trash can, black hairs in the bed, and dirt and dust everywhere the eye could see.
Second there was only five or six people staying at the hotel while we were there. They have about 100 rooms but still had to put someone with three kids and a dog directly above us. When I went down to ask if they could ask him to be a little quieter the lady at the desk told me he was a owner and shrugged her sholders.
Don’t know what happen to the breakers but it use to be the best get-​a-​way in long beach, and now I will never go back

Worst place to stay at! If you want to be relive the 1980’s highly recommend it. Honestly have never seen anything this bad before. Never again Adrift is where it’s at!!! This place cost more then a hotel in NYC and has nothing to show for it!

Nice place to stay on the dunes. We were on the third floor so we could see the ocean over the dunes. They have free bikes which can be used on the paved bike path that comes right up to the property. We drove our bikes about a mile to town and had breakfast at the bakery. The accommodations are nice and clean but a little dated. We did ask a neighbor to turn down the TV because a lot of sound comes through the adjoining door. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Just plain awesome. Great room (#205) that is perfect — wonderful queen bed, well appointed, a good bathroom, spare cul de sac with a twin bed for the kid, microwave, fridge, a blu-​ray player and an HDTV that shockingly just works and works in full HDTV mode with no atrocious useless for-​profit interactive «menu», clean, great service, great location. Just plain great. Anytime we’re coming out here again in the future, this is our place. It should be yours too.
Extra perks: great little playground for the kids that’s usually teeming with kids, so lots of playtime. A stupidly short walk from the beach (maybe ¹⁄₈^th of a mile? a quarter mile?). Five minutes from downtown Long Beach.

Had a fantastic time! We got a 2 bedroom condo with a ocean/​beach view for our family of 5. By far the most helpful and friendly staff on the whole peninsula! The rooms were fully stocked with normal hotel essentials including a log for the fireplace and extra blankets and sheets for the pullout couch. Our rooms could have easily slept a family of 8+ comfortably! They have a nice pool and hot tub, a playground for the munchkins, and everything is very family friendly. They even offer free bicycle rentals to fart around Discovery Trail.
The hotel is located at the end of Long Beach so it’s quiet and serene even in a busy beach town. We accidently left our air purifier behind (never travel without it) and they promptly contacted us and shipped it to our home. This coming from a town where my wife had her new Seahawks hat stolen by a resturant employee! Astounded by the amazing customer service! Thanks for the awesome memories guys!

If you have kids or a dog or want to have a family reunion, apparently this is the place to go. If not, you should stay away. We could not enjoy any of the amenities because there was a large group (perhaps a family reunion) who was everywhere we turned. We thought we might be able to enjoy the hot tub during the adult only hours, but nope, it was full of children. Loud, hyper children, who I also heard through the walls loud and clear, along with their dogs. Not relaxing!
The «bed» was really a pull out couch. I’ve never had a hotel room before that only had a pull out couch. It was about as comfortable as your usual pull out couch. It had an old, moldy shower (no tub), a good sized fully stocked kitchen, and a balcony that overlooked the family reunion or my neighbors balcony.
The «ocean view» room did not have an ocean view. If I squinted and looked way off into the distance when it was completely clear, I think I may have seen a sliver of ocean. But a view, no, there was no view. It’s a long walk to the beach and is a quick drive (but long walk) to town. No elevator. Definitely not worth 300 $ (with taxes and everything) for two nights!

This place is badass!!! The pool is heated and awesome and the rooms are so high quality. I come here every time I come to Long Beach, WA.

We went to The Breakers for a getaway weekend with the kids and it was fantastic! The staff was extremely friendly and our condo was perfect. We have small children and were very surprised to see a large toy bin in our room as well as other board games and children’s toys. The pool is small but having it indoors worked out very well for one day when it was a bit cold out. Can’t wait to go back here!

We were in the one bedroom condo on the 3^rd floor. It was very comfortable for us. We had 4 adults and two small kiddos. The kitchen was bigger then the one in my apartment! The living room and bedroom were also large. The décor is straight from the late 70s early 80s and it smelt kind of old until we opened all the windows. You can see the beach from the balcony. also right into the room that could be connected to ours to make a two bedroom condo… that was awkward. The blow dryer was broken but replaced promptly. There were complimentary bike rentals and they are in great condition. The pool and hot tub looked nice but we didn’t have time to use them. The walk to the beach was kind of a trek with kids but still relaxing. I would return with my family. You get a lot for what you pay. It’s outside of town a little ways so don’t plan on riding bikes into town or walking.

We stayed here for Mothers Day weekend. The hotel was pretty clean. I think they should at least upgrade their shampoo and actually give you conditioner. They really need to buy a new towel set, I think it was the first time I ever felt like I was using sandpaper to dry off.
The service was great at the front desk but the housekeeper tried coming in the room even after we asked them not too.

Staying the night here tonight, absolutely a horrible idea. This place has about even ruined the idea of coming to Washington for a vacation. It says there’s Wi-​Fi depends where they put u. No kids channel (for toddlers) says family movies available. 5 $ a night. If you have kids I’d highly recommend that you don’t come here… Horrible mothers day weekend

My bf and I visited Long Beach just after Christmas for a weekend and stayed here. It was fairly empty so we got the room (not a condo) on the first floor closest to the paved walkway leading to the beach. The room did not have an ocean view, but we knew that going in. The hotel is beach front, NOT ocean front just for clarification. The room was pretty standard and nothing special with one main room with a queen bed, one smaller room with a twin bed, bathroom and a small fridge with a microwave in the closet. It was clean, maybe could use an update. The roof is tin, I think, so can been noisy when raining. It was pretty quiet, but I can see it being louder with more people in the busier seasons. The beds were ungodly uncomfortable. I mean the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in. My bf and I had back issues after this stay and we’ve stayed in a lot of hotels, friends futons/​floors, and pull out couches. The price for 2 nights was about $ 270 total, not exactly a bargain.
The front desk staff were courteous, but we did not request their services other than checking in and out. I know a person who has stayed in the condos section of the hotel and enjoyed their stay. They also mentioned that The Breakers offers discounts on a regular basis and have stayed there for $ 99/​night. So I would take advantage of those offers if you were to stay there.
It was ok. I’ll probably be looking into a different accommodation next time.

Clean. Nice I have a kitchenette. Good space. Good location. Away from the downtown hustle and bustle but within waking, riding or driving distance. The free 1.5 hour beach cruiser was an added bonus.
The one part that was a tiny bit rough was the fact that we were there on a warm day when ac would have been nice. The hotel doesn’t have ac, just heating. Other than that, a great place.

It is so disappointing to be in a nonsmoking room and have everyone outside on their balconies smoking! We couldn’t have windows open on a 90 degree day because of the stench of cigarette smoke. The room was really dusty and not clean under the beds or in the closets. Why was there someone’s leftover ham in the refrigerator? Why was the dishwasher full of dishes and why was there a dirty rag in the kitchen sink? And, seriously, with the high price of the rooms you charge more money to borrow DVDs from the front office? I can’t recommend the Breakers

The Breakers is awesome! I show up in Long Beach on Friday (end of August), without any reservations and start calling around. Finding a hotel, especially one that accepts dogs, isn’t always easy. Boy am I lucky I found the Breakers.
The suite was very nice, with a large kitchen (for a hotel room) with a full size fridge, stove and oven. The internet was fast, the view was great, they had a lot of extras, like bicycles you can borrow from the office.
The customer service was great from the moment I called. The true test was later when I made a mistake that could have really left my vacation on a sour note.
Upon arriving home, I realized that I had left a wallet with $ 500 cash, hidden, in the room. I called the front desk. The night manager (it was after midnight) was very friendly and reassuring. The next day they found my wallet, converted the cash to a check and mailed it back by certified mail.
I’ve traveled a lot, stayed in a lot of hotels, and I can tell you that the customer service I received at The Breakers, puts them in the top 5% of places I’ve stayed.

This place needs a serious update. Most of the furnishings look like they’re from the 70’s.
We started in a standard room. Very small and the toilet didn’t seem to be properly bolted to the ground. Asked what else they had and moved to a 1br condo for $ 40 more per night. That was ok but still couldn’t shake the dirty feeling. This whole town seems a bit run down, so I doubt there’s much better out there, which is what keeps them in business.
Wifi is very choppy and you can’t maintain a signal on your devices for very long at all.
You will hear your neighbors conversations like they are in the room with you (walls are paper thin). Not very cool when your neighbors are up at 6:20am and acting like everyone else should be, too.

I hate to book a place I haven’t seen, but I couldn’t imagine going to a town as small as Long Beach on a festival weekend without a rock solid reservation. Unilocal is so helpful there. Two of the big selling points for me were the 26 acres and the prospect of a private beach.
I love kids and dogs, but only my own. I did not have my dog with me and specificly requested a ‘no dog’ room. I didn’t want a room that smelled of wet dog or sleep in a bed someone’s dog had slept in. The reservation people were good with that. I don’t recall our room number, it may have been 402 we had a ground floor 1 bedroom condo with full kitchen. Being the dutiful Unilocaler that I am you will see lots of photos. I would go here again in a heartbeat. I think the room was about $ 200 a night but with just a step out the back door we were under the stars and could listen to the frogs (we don’t have many of those in LA, neither frogs nor stars). There was no drought, no road rage and no litter.
There were hoses to clean your beach sand away, beach cruiser bicycles, and it was a lot like using a friend’s condo. There were very few dogs there and very few children. The dogs we did see appeared to be clean and well groomed and there is a leash rule. It was not noisy where we were, Forth of July weekend or a time when more kids are present might be a different story.. Regarding the beach front, beach view, there are dunes between the property and the ocean so if you are ground floor you won’t be seeing the ocean, we knew that but wanted ground floor. The beach, ocean was about a 15 minute walk and much of the path was asphalt.
This is not easy walking distance to downtown Long Beach but that’s OK. It was an easy ride on the beach cruiser. Fireplace was a nice touch, it wasn’t until our second day we discovered the place had 3 thermostats, so I was a little cold the first day. the bed had a blanket and a comforter and two more comforters in the closet, about the caliber of what you might see at Target or Walmart but they kept us warm. Wi Fi and TV were fine.

First, I think it’s important to be clear that each of the condos is individually owned and decorated. We stayed in 422 for two nights in November and found almost everything to be quite nice.
There were enough amenities to make the Breakers a bang for your buck. Nothing super fancy, but had all of the ingredients for a great time. First of all they take dogs, an uninterrupted view of the beach & dunes, free bike rentals, fireplaces, and plenty of space to spread out and relax.
422 loses one star because the bed was super underwhelming. The cheap blanket had a number of holes in it, they only provided one old pillow each and the mattress was old and uncomfortable. We found ways to spruce it up, but it wasn’t the type of bed you’d want to lounge in.
We found the Breakers office staff to be exceptionally friendly and helpful. I would suggest finding an online coupon to make your stay even more enjoyable.
