Service was a little slow but it was Valentine’s Day so I guess they should get a pass haha. The food was great though. We were able to bring our dog to sit with us on the patio seating Which was a high plus for animal lovers like us. We ordered : Split pea soup Spinach artichoke dip Lettuce wraps Kung pao spaghetti Tequila fettuccine And a Sicilian pizza And have absolutely no complaints about the food

Dinner at CPK was delicious. We enjoyed the Halibut and the shrimp pasta with zucchini ribbons. We sat at the counter in front of the pizza oven sipping on a La Crema wine flight. Casey, our server, was friendly, personable and made great menu suggestions. An asset to CPK. My only desire is that my home town of Reno had a CPK!

CPK’s commitment to premium ingredients, imaginative recipes & their recent rebranding of stores, are remarkable. Decade over decade, day after day, they are the ‘franchised’ restaurant to savor & save-on-calories — from Roasted Brussels Sprouts; to Applewood Smoked Bacon Flatbreads — with sweet caramelized onions, & goat cheese($ 8.29) from tangy strawberry or raspberry lemonades(sugar free options too); to tasty wood-fired pizzas and cedar-fired salmon. The chain is widely known for its innovative and nontraditional pizzas, such as the«Original BBQ Chicken Pizza», BLT, Thai Chicken, and Jamaican Jerk Chicken pizzas. All are good. Their statable salads(sampling Asparagus & Arugula) are low in calories(180 calories) and their 12oz USDA Fire-Grilled Ribeye is priced right $ 26.99. Consistently good food; applaudably good service; and a good value. At this location, Managers Marco and Alfonso, are the keepers of kindness, and hospitality. And Casey at the bar, delivers quality customer care.

I normally would want to go up a higher rating here because I love me some CPK! I suppose a 3.5 is in order. I’ve been going to various CPKs since college and have loved their food ever since. Over the years, I’ve found them to be consistent across the board with service and food. This night was to be an exception. It was late on a Friday night and the kids were across the street at a convention center. I was ordering food to go prior to there closing. Being a Friday night, it was busy in the restaurant right up until closing the doors at 10PM. I had called in the order at 9:20, knowing they closed within the hour. All went well with the ordering process even though it was loud on both ends of the phone. I ordered a couple items that I hadn’t had before, the quinoa and arugula salad and the spinach and asparagus spaghettini. Ordered both with chicken. The person I spoke with said it would be ready in 20 minutes. I waited for a while then headed across the street. I arrived at about 9:50 thinking they would have either given my food away to another customer because it was so late, but it looked like they were still seating customers walking in the door. That was nice to see. I waited at the front desk for a moment as the host was bringing other guests to their table. He came back and asked if I needed anything. I mentioned that I had a phone order and he directed me to the back counter. I proceeded to the sign and register that I was directed to and waited for someone to come by. Lots of people did, but no one offered to help me. Guessing at least 10 staff passed by, but said nothing. I can only assume they were busy, but it would have been nice to have been acknowledged for standing at a register for to go orders. I then noticed one of the waiters who passed got the attention of another staff person. Surely he was the guy overseeing the counter. Sure enough, he was. He came over to a woman who was eating at the counter next to the register and collected her bill with payment and returned to the other side of the counter to process her check/payment. So I continued to wait. I saw staff carrying food from the kitchen and others with plates from floor to the bus station. Others were simply walking back and forth along the counter with nothing in their hands. Still nothing. Finally, the same host who directed me to the counter walked passed. My perplexed look probably told him that no one had helped me yet. I inquired if anyone was working the register and he offered to grab my order. He looked at the order line and found by ticket. The only one hanging. He looked down and found a couple of to go containers on the counter and told me he’d check to make sure the salad was being worked on. He came back around and found what he was looking for right in front of the other container. He started bagging up the items and told me he’d be right back with the waters and bread and butter I had ordered. He then went around the counter to the other side and began talking with another member of the wait staff. The talking began to look like joking around and more social chatting than anything. Another waitress then came by and asked if I needed anything. I mentioned that the other gentleman was going to get some waters, but looked like he was distracted. She smirked and agreed and said she would get them for me. By this time, a manager came by and asked if I was being helped. I mentioned I was being taken care of. When the waitress returned with the waters I asked about the bread and butter and she immediately went to grab and bag them as well. The host who initially helped me then walked by with a plate of food from the kitchen, grabbed a glass of water and proceeded to sit down for a meal. Guess he was distracted with his own break time as well. She returned and put the bag in front of me and said, «You’re all set, have a good night». I then mentioned that I hadn’t been rung up or paid yet. She smiled and went around the register to ring up the order. She thanked me for mentioning that. I paid and went on my way. The quality of the food was great as always. I just wish the customer could have been more of a priority on this night. Keep on Unilocal’n!

Staff was very friendly and worked well together. Was busy but they will managed to accommodate every table no matter how many people were or weren’t sitting there. Food was delicious with plenty of options.

Ya know, I’ve always liked CPKs, but it’s still a chain of course… They’ve recently stepped up their menu adding a little more gourmet and then some sort of pizza rewards club thing while still keeping all my favorites like the Moroccan chicken salad and butter cake. This particular CPK was walking distance for our hotel and we had some fantastic service, so I just HAD to give y’all 4 stars!

Very disappointed with the to-go service they provide. Ordered just one small bbq chicken pizza in advance to avoid waiting Waited a full hour for the order when the estimated wait time was only 20 minutes. I believe her name was Iris. A gentlemen«walked in» and placed an order 10 minutes after I had already been sitting for a while. After he received his order before me, I stood up and asked out about my order. It had been in the heating compartment below the register the whole time. She had only put a couple pizzas in there once. Didn’t think much of it until she grabbed that gentlemens order straight from the cooks. My pizza had been sitting in there the whole time. I’m not one to make a scene but the food did not come out the way we were expecting it to because it had to be reheated. The restaurant was fairly busy but not busy enough for my pizza to take that long.

Slow, slow service, server brought out wrong drink, had to hunt someone down for sugar for my iced tea, had to ask for refills, food was not hot, wilted lettuce in my salad, and runny Mac and cheese. Our server forgot our appetizer, forgot to apply my coupon to our bill, and didn’t bring my sons ice water refills in new cups– she only rinsed out their old cups, which had chocolate milk and root beer in them. She even switched the cups accidentally so my root beer kid got the cup that had chocolate milk in it(which still had chocolate syrup in it). Maybe a Heath code violation. Will not be returning. A waste of $ 60.

I came in here after visiting the Dr. and not feeling very well. I had a $ 20 gift card and I wanted to get the most bang for my free bucks. I figured the lunch duo deal and an add on of another item should do the trick. I was taken back to the To-Go counter where a nice guy was trying to help me. I’ll take the blame in making the order harder than it needed to be. In the end he made my order work by using a childs add-on which even came with a small drink! Bonus! Im super happy with the service and that the counter fellow was able to help me. The food was good, the service was even better!

I had the GF chicken pineapple pizza, Unfortunately i did not care too much for their pizza. The bbq sauce was overwhelming and took away from the rest of the ingredients.

Went here with a date and was pleased to find they had delicious VEGAN options! I had some pasta with a delicious off-menu marinara type of sauce. I called prior to my visit and spoke with Lily, who is also vegan. She was very helpful. My date had a pizza he devoured. Our waitress, Stefanie, was super attentive and the manager was also really sweet when he was doing his rounds and checking in with guests. Isn’t it great when you find a restaurant that can please the omnis and vegans alike? I’ll be back.

Exceptional service! Wow! I came here yesterday for dinner with my girl friend and it was our first time coming to any California pizza kitchen. Our host gave us a warm welcome and seated us almost immediately. We told him it was our first time so we listened to his suggestions and they were so good! Right after he seated us Evan our server took our orders. He was soooo funny and entertaining I never had such a great server like him. Great job, we will be coming back again soon! We ordered a Sicilian flat pizza with pineapples as an extra topping and crunchy Mac and cheese on the side. We finished it off with a pumpkin cheesecake. Yum!

Due to poor and inconsistent staff training I will no longer be coming back to this CPK. Which is unfortunate because I get take out about once a week. Food is good, manager is not.

Overview: This California Pizza Kitchen(CPK) at the Long Beach pier shopping center(close to the movie theater, H&M, and comedy club) is a beautifully decorated, well run restaurant that no longer showcases its pizzas but focuses on «general» American food like pasta, steak, salads, etc(in the vein of BJs, Cheesecake Factory, and every other American chain). The Establishment: With a new theme of sustainable decorating, this CPK combines modern and rustic together in a fashion that seems to work very well. Lots of glass for views of the pier and a beautiful long bar for singles to mingle. Attentive wait staff, slightly lower than average volume, and a slightly dim atmosphere make it a very nice place to bring a date. Outdoor seating also plentiful and well maintained. The Food: I ordered the jambalaya while my wife ordered the Waldorf salad and we enjoyed both of them, with the salad besting the jambalaya. The jambalaya had shrimp(w/tails still on), sausage, and a decent amount of spicy kick but what I didn’t like about it was the overall burndt taste and the shrimp tails still being on. While I’m sure many foodies enjoy the presentation of tail-on shrimp, I eat somewhat like a vacuum cleaner and non-edible bits slow me down. the Waldorf salad was deliciously fruity, well balanced with the cheese/fruit/greens, and well sized. I wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone. Pricing for both was a bit expensive at a little less than $ 40 for the entire meal(tip included) but I suppose beach-side property rent and the recent remodel is to blame for the high prices. If you haven’t been to a CPK in the past, remember that this is NOT a pizza place anymore. It’s a general American restaurant that happened to specialize in pizza a few decades ago. Yes, you can try more than a dozen signature concoctions like truffle oil pizza but the entire selection of pizzas is now relegated to a tiny flap in the menu. Pastas, meat dishes, fish, and gourmet salads are now center stage and pricier than their pizzas. Conclusions: This CPK is a beautifully decorated, general American restaurant(not focused on pizza) that is located in a wonderful section of the Long Beach Pier bordering several attractions like a comedy club, a movie theater, and women’s clothing shops. It’s great for both families and dates, but it’s a bit pricey for what you get.

My friend and I circled around LB yesterday in the humid, wet rainy weather trying to find parking and a place to eat before attending a concert. We settled on CPK. Luckily, we found a nearby parking spot on the street and didn’t have to walk too far. A hostess held the door open and greeted us as we walked up. We were seated right away. Our super friendly waiter named Brian sparked up small talk with us as he took our orders. He suggested a good alcoholic beverage for my friend, the better soup option for me and even asked the chef to make the field greens salad for me that is no longer on the menu. As ugly as the weather was and even after Brian shared his experience of being in the LB power outage for 4 days, he was still upbeat, helpful, and directed us to the parking structure and venue we needed to get to for our concert. I totally see why he was wearing a pin that said«trainer». He has an awesome personality and seems to know the menu well. Thanks, Brian, for the wonderful conversation and good tips… even on one of the ugliest summer days we’ve had!

The name fooled me, the menu is way more extensive than just pizza. The drink menu is just as impressive. Neither will disappoint. The staff was friendly and engaging. The chef even stopped by to make sure everything was good, which it was. It’s a nice looking place. I always enjoy watching the meals being prepared.

*review #34/365 for 2015 This is a chain. Sometimes I hate writing reviews for chains because I feel people should already know the menu. Anyway… I visited this place recently with some new friends. It was lunch time. There were about 8 of us. I ordered the pizza/salad lunch special. It was decent. Nothing amazing… but satisfied the taste buds. The service was friendly but inefficient. We were on a lunch hour, so usually that means we can’t spend the entire day there. It took a while to get the bread, the food, the checks and the to go boxes. This location is at the Pike in Long Beach, so it’s pretty nice to take out of towners I guess. But honestly, I think there are some better places to take people than CPK unless your guests are those who are narrow minded when it comes to food and only eat what is known.

Almost went to Islands for our team lunch but last minute decided CPK. We were seated immediately during lunch hours on a Friday. We were given warm, toasty bread with olive oil dip to munch on while waiting for our meals. There are lunch special deals on the weekdays. Pizza + soup or salad combo for $ 10.95: Spinach & mushroom pizza with farmers market soup. Hardly any spinach on my pizza(about 3 pieces) and overly cheesy. The soup was the total opposite! Everything fresh you could find at a farmers market meddled into one delicious soup! Farmers market soup is worth a try. While dining, the fire alarm went on. For a big chain like CPK, it’s scary there were no proper procedures and employees weren’t trained on protocol. All customers just looked around and so did the employees! For all we know, there could have been a fire in the kitchen that could have been potentially dangerous to the customers yet nothing was done. — 1 star.

Of all the places we could have been for our last meal in 2014, how did we end up at CPK?! Poor planning on our part that’s how! Pine Street restaurants were blocked off and only accessible through the NYE party, Opera Italian of course was booked(bar room only, which was also packed), even Outback Steakhouse was 1.5 hour wait, Famous Dave’s an hour wait. We happen to walk by CPK in our desperate quest for food and behold. no wait! We’re going in. And as we approached the door, a greeter came and opened it for us. We were seated right away and our server came to us timely as well. CPK has always been a long time favorite but I hadn’t visited in years in an attempt to avoid franchised restaurants and mainly, because I forgot how much I loved CPK. Nothing fancy, just good and satisfying food. But how could I forget: — The Chicken Tequila Lime Pasta. One of my favorite dishes. — Thai Chicken Pizza. Small pizza with about 8 small slices perfect for sharing. Love the peanut sauce, the veggies on top. Leftovers are great. — Bacon Avocado Rolls. Like egg rolls with crispy wonton wrap, bacon, chicken, and avocado inside. Came with two dipping sauces: ranch and a spicy cream sauce. Gotta love options. Great portion sizes, even had lots of leftovers. About $ 100 for our meal. Great service, attentive waiter. I know where I’m coming for pizzas now!
