Maintenance personnel is quick in resolving issues. Very friendly. Francisco was very professional. Refused to take gratuity and still done his job well.

This was my third Camden apartment complex in which to live. 2 others were in Houston Texas. I feel like this particular Camden complex does not put the tenant first. The staff is very nice, and attentive when you bring up an issue– they simply do not then follow through with the wishes of the tenants or create workable alternatives. There is a big security issue, lots of car break-in’s and transients walking in and out of the buildings, drug activity on the roof, and loitering. The Camden I knew in Houston would have addressed these issues by action, not explanation of why nothing about it can change.
So, if you come to rent here, know that everyone is nice, and you will most likely have pleasant interactions. But know that your needs as a tenant are not the top priority. You might be ok with that– I was not and moved out. The grounds are beautiful. The shops underneath the apartments are very convenient. I believe the maintenance crew is wonderful and quick to address problems. But none of it was enough to trump my safety.
Also, just as a warning, Camden properties everywhere are notorious for raising your rent to the max amount allowed by law. Just go in with your eyes open.

So I’ve been living here at Camden harbor view for about 2 years and everything was ok until the last couple of months. HUGE warning guys, they are building work/​live in lofts on the retail level of building 1 & 2. Camden has hired independent contractors that will come and begin cutting metal and drilling in walls and they begin at 8am. Camden claims that the quiet hours at the community go up until 9am BUT since the contractors don’t work directly for Camden that they have no control over this. Everything else about this location is awesome.
Other than the construction, I wouldn’t live anywhere else. Best location in LB. staff is friendly!

As I’m getting ready to move out, I’m writing this review for Camden to sum up my time here.
I picked Camden over other luxury apartments in Long Beach for a few reasons. We got a great deal on our lease and could not find anything else nearby that offered the same value.
You can do your own homework, but I’ll mention some of my highs and lows living here.
2 parking spots AND a motorcycle cage. Awesome. Nobody else does this. When we were looking in the area, even 2BR places only offered 1 space with a second for sale for an exta $ 100 per month.
Everything in the apartment is clean and new. Service requests are done quickly… I’ve never had a problem with any of the tickets I’ve submitted or requests I’ve made. I’ve never seen any bugs in the unit or in the building which is great.
Very pet friendly. There are a lot of people with dogs here and for the most part I’ve never had any problems… I don’t really hear dogs barking on the patios or anything like that.
Location… fantastic. Anywhere in downtown LB would be great, but Camden backs up to the Pike and is a few blocks from the bars and restaurants on Pine.
The office has been great. Everyone I’ve worked with has been helpful and great to work with. Flexible, friendly and helpful. Thank you to the office team!
Guest parking is easy. 2 passes per day if you need them, lots of space for parking, even if you can’t park right next to the elevator.
My cons…
I don’t have a lot of these really but if I had to nitpick at anything…
I was living in a unit facing Ocean Blvd. You do hear the homeless who live on the sidewalk in front of the library all the time, especially at night. It’s not that big of a deal, but sometimes it can be annoying.
Dog park was a great idea but for whatever reason it smells so bad. My dog loves it but I can’t stand to be out there for more than a few min. I’m not sure if this is a drainage issue as I believe that they regularly clean the place.
The gym is very small. It’s got enough for basic workouts but left me wanting more. I wish they had a bench press or squat rack. That would be ideal. My recommendation would be to get rid of the treadmills. You live in Downtown Long Beach, go run outside, it’s awesome. 3 miles to the Queen Mary. 3-​ish miles to the Bluff. 5 miles to 2^nd Street. Or just go run through Shoreline. So much to see, why would you want to be on a treadmill?
Package situation kind of sucks. I wish they would accept them at the front office, but we had a unit that was far from the elevator so we never really had a problem with packages being stolen.
Overall, the pros heavily outweigh the cons. I’m sad to be moving out. I would definitely recommend Camden and chose to live here again if the opportunity came up.

I have been a resident at Camden for the last 4 months and I really enjoy the resort style living that it gives to me and my family. It is like living in a 5 star hotel complete with all the accommodations. We have a state of the art fitness center, clubhouse, movie theater room, game room, business center and pool complete with BBQ area. I especially like the convenience of my apartment home to train station, shopping, movie theater, and great places to dine. I highly recommend Camden as your next home, it will be the best home decison you make.

I’ve been at Camden for a little over three months, after moving to Long Beach from the Midwest earlier this year. I am very unfamiliar with the area and was a bit apprehensive about what to expect from Camden, but I have been pleasantly surprised.
Sarah made the lease signing process as stress-​free as possible, given the facts that I was signing a lease from 2000+ miles away at a place I had never visited with two roommates I had only met one time. She was and continues to be great. Any questions or concerns I have had have been addressed quickly and professionally.
In my three months here there have been several peculiar occurrences, including the numerous power outages and the SWAT deployment. I think the staff did a nice job of keeping residents informed and up to date on what was going on.
In a complex with so many residents, there are always going to be complainers. I’m definitely not one of them! Keep up the good work.

It doesn’t get much better than Camden. Location, staff, amenities… top-​notch. Just a block away from the Pike and Pine Ave. everything you could possibly need is within walking distance (or a short bike ride). The staff is super friendly and, from my experience, some of the most helpful folks around. This place has everything you could want.
I also have to give a special shout out to the maintenance team. I’ve never experienced a more responsive and capable crew.

I have mostly good things to say about this place. The location is excellent– being an easy walk to nearby shops and restaurants. It is very convenient to be able to walk to the harbor anytime you have friends or family over. Let me take this opportunity to highlight what I like best about this place– the service. I mean it when I say I have never experienced service so good at any previous place of residence. the office staff is always extremely courteous and willing to help you with any reasonable request. I have never once come across a disgruntled or rude employee on these grounds. The maintenance service is excellent and they will promptly address any problem or deficiency.
I really like the parking policy here — you are guaranteed to have a parking spot no matter what time of day and you should have a parking spot considering what you are paying. It is also a reasonably generous policy for gas, you will always have at least one to two spaces to provide for guests to come over. I do however think that a major weakness is the inability to let guests into the parking structure without scanning them in yourself. It is rather inconvenient to have to walk downstairs, get into your guests car and then scan your fob at the gate. The pool areas are very nice and well maintained, they are a relaxing place to get a soak in. It is rather unfortunate however that there is no jacuzzi. I am hoping that the attentive staff here has plans to install a spa or Jacuzzi considering the great demand for this. The grounds are very nice and the apartments are also welcome, although I could do with a little bit more space. it is very cool to have onsite amenities such as a gym, multiple study rooms, multiple lounges and a theater. The cost of reserving the lounges is rather high but thankfully you can hang out in them anytime if nobody has it reserved. The presence of on-​site businesses is also rather convenient and I do enjoy going to them sometimes. All things considered, this is a place that I would gladly live in again.

There are rarely, moments in my life where I feel impressed enough to write about my experience… well, anywhere. In this case, I feel like is necessary to note that my time living at The Camden Harbor View, in Long Beach, to be one of the largest, yet most friendly and community driven apartments that I have ever lived in. I’m not sure how they do it but I always feel like part of the family when I walk in to the office. Whether it’s questions about my lease, a work order, or a late night replacement key (oops!), they have always been there to walk me through it in a timely fashion and with a smile.
Sarah and James (amongst others in their team) have been so friendly and knowledgeable about how to help and I would recommend living here to anyone that is looking for a place to call home!

I’ve lived in Camden Harbor View almost 3 years and it’s been an overall great experience.
The office staff is awesome and always a pleasure to deal with. There are great amenities like two pools, a fitness center, business center, and dog park. There’s also a coffee shop, wine bar, a couple restaurants, a salon, convenience store and a spin studio within the complex. The location is perfect as it’s between the Pike/​Harbor attractions and the awesome bars and restaurants on Pine.
Pros:
–Location (can’t beat it, best spot to be in DTLB)
–Staff and residents
–Fast maintenance
–Amenities (walk-​in closets, washer/​dryer in-​unit)
–Ample parking (rare in Long Beach)
Cons:
–Can be noisy if you’re on the lower floors, within earshot of the pools, or in the older buildings without concrete walls.
–Receiving packages is hit or miss. I had a package stolen from my doorstep once.
–Hard to have guests as you can only print 2 guest parking passes per unit. Also to get in anywhere you need a fob; there’s no way to buzz anyone into your building.
–Rent is high compared to similar apartment complexes, but reasonable considering it’s the best option in the area (in my opinion).
–Security can be improved. There should be cameras in the parking structures and perhaps 1 – 2 additional guards on the premises overnight.

Have been leaving here since 2003 love this place, the location, engineering, convenience, and service is just been great! !!!

My husband and I and our toddler have lived here for a year. We moved to Long Beach for my husband’s job and wanted a no-​brainer place to live while we got to know the area better. There have been some pros and a few cons living at Camden. The Pros: Work out room, pools, cyber lounge, proximity to restaurants, shopping, movie theatre, the Aquarium, bike and walking paths at the light house. The staff is always friendly. The grounds are clean. Nice apartment.
The cons have more to do with the area, than Camden. It does get loud at night… especially on the weekends. We have an outside unit that overlooks the walking path from Ocean to Seaside and it’s used a lot at night by revelers. You hear sirens a lot… day and night. There is a homeless issue, but mainly across the street on Ocean.
In all, I think it’s a great place if you’re young and don’t have small kids. It’s a little too happening and noisy with a little one.

I was a little hesitant to move here, being so close to downtown. But I have to say, I couldn’t be happier. The whole process was seamless and the staff at CHV were incredibly helpful. The prices are very reasonable and the units are new and homey. I love my new home!!!

I lived here for several years and have to say it is a great place in Downtown LB. With views of the Queen Mary and the Ocean and all the restaurants on Pine. Also a brand new mall within walking distance. Very nice

I have been living in the complex for about 9 months with my husband and daughter. We love it, yes there have been a few hiccups that we dont like how the were resolved but its been the same as any other place we have lived. It happens.
We love our unit and the maintence staff is amazing! I send a request in the morning and by the time I get home from work it has been handled and its so wonderful!
We love the pool and the gym, I also sneak in for a free coffee sometimes to the lobby when its been a tough day :)
They are always friendly and helpful. I totally recommend camden and try to get my friends to move in and be closer

When choosing an apartment as my home, I choose my apartment based on location, value, professionalism, and technology.
I do not want to travel far for work. Therefore my apartment will be in a decent distance from it.
What I pay is based on what I can afford and for what I get. All appliances and full size washer dryer in unit, conference room, amazing pool area with bbq’s, and much more, I’m sold!
But, I still consider the professionalism and technology of what the building will offer.
Stepping into the office and to be greeted by a smiling gentleman acknowledging me right away, asking how he can help, was very refreshing. After visiting a few other Downtown Long Beach locations, I knew this was going to be a different experience. This gentleman then asked me for water and I gladly accepted. I told him I was in search for my new home and he kindly walked me over to a leasing agent. She was also very accommodating and smiled throughout my experience. The grounds were lovely and I enjoyed what I saw. During the presentation I asked about what technology is available for tenants when paying rent etc. As a business professional, this is very important to me. Who wants to walk a check to the office? I don’t even have a checkbook. It’s 2015. To be able to pay online, enter a maintenance ticket, and sign my lease online was wonderful to hear. All free too. My previous apartment billed each time you paid rent online. It was a small fee, but that is not of importance to this review.
Thank you to the wonderful staff I see on the grounds, in the parking garage, and other locations of the establishment. The maintenance department is also very friendly and helpful.
To read some of the other reviews are pretty interesting. Based on their grammar, I can only imagine them to be the ones causing their own unhappiness and use review sites to talk like adolescents. I highly doubt they have taken the time to sit with the staff and really talk one on one like adults. It is almost embarrassing to know I live in a building with incompetent individuals.
Nonetheless, I have enjoyed every day of my stay and look forward to many memories here. Thank you for all you do Camden. You can’t please them all, but you have pleased me.

I struggle to decide on whether to give 1 star or 2, and settled on giving them the benefit of the doubt, but reader beware that this is a 1.5 star review.
We lived in one of the priciest units at Camden Harbor View for just over a year. Finding a pet friendly apartment community in downtown Long Beach wasn’t as easy as it sounds, and we thought we had found a gem with Camden.
At the end of the day, their problem arises from managements unwillingness and/​or inability to deal with the problems that plague the residents and the grounds.
The elevators, hallways, and areas around the buildings smell incessantly of dog urine, in a way that really puts you off. They have built a new «dog park» in the back, which is a very small area, that doesn’t help this problem, it just moves the smell back into a shielded inner courtyard where the smells can hang around longer and build up strength.
They have a decent fitness center, which is directly above the leasing center. One day the A/​C went out. This was in June (or one of those hot months, I can’t recall precisely) and it got extremely hot inside the fitness center. It took them almost a month to repair. In the meantime, you had to suffer the intense heat and still are inside the fitness center if you wanted to work otu. Meanwhile, one floor below, the leasing center was cool and crisp and clean, without a hint of A/​C problems. Something is amiss there.
There seem to be regularly occurring issues with the hot water that result in frequent hot water outages.
The buildings and floors are listed as non-​smoking, however there are some residents who smoke in their units without end. I had one of those as my neighbor, and their second hand smoke would travel through the vents and make my apartment smell like an old tobacco shop. It was nauseating. Management did nothing about this, even when the halls clearly stank of cigarette smoke.
Lastly, but not least, is the parking situation. They claim that they will tow cars that don’t have parking placards, but this has never proven to be true. They made a big huff of it about a year back, and pretended to care… but you will regularly see cars with no parking passes in the garage in all of the premium spots. And when the parking is not assigned, this creates real issues when residents have to carry grocery bags hundreds of feet to the elevator because a bunch of cars without permits have all taken the closer spots. Again, management has been either unwilling or unable to deal with this issue.
A rather new develpment is the office’s refusal to receive packages. This is a big problem. Can you imagine living here during a holiday season, and having all of your packages either A) dropped at your door, where they are opened or stolen by neighbors, or B) you have to pick them up at the UPS or Post Office location? This is unreal. They claim that it was too much of a burden on the staff to deal with all the packages. But let me tell you, this is not a cheap place to live… doesn’t the large amount we pay in rent specifically cover these types of services? Absolutely unacceptable and unforgivable in my opinion.
There are some security concerns with the homeless population that tends to «live» outside the civic center across the street, and this bothered some of the other residents.
One positive was that the leasing staff was always very friendly, and seemed to genuinely care. The problem is that the caring is where it ended. Although they care and are friendly, they are also apparently either unwilling or (more likely) unable to make effective corrections. Maintenance was always responsive, and took care of any problems I reported.
At the end of a 15 month lease, we simply could not wait to move out. We have not regretted it for a moment, and we could not and will not recommend this community in its current state to anyone else.

— Parking garage is littered with cigarette butts/​dog poops/​trashes people emptied from their cars.
— Rent increases $ 480 annually each time you renew, while the level of service/​quality of life decreases (i.e. Front office stopped signing for their residents packages; homeless people doing drugs and taking shelter on premise, etc)

We visited the Camden apartment homes on the recommendation of a friend and we fell in love! Our leasing consultant, Brooke, was phenomenal! She spent a lot of time with us and answered our questions honestly and earn our trust and respect because she genuinely wanted us to have all the information we needed to make the best decision for our budget. We honestly were going to wait another year and we were set to sign our new lease as the current one ended June 30^th but after meeting with Brooke on May 30^th we changed our minds. We applied on the 31^st, was approved within an hour and rendered our 30 day notice that day to our substandard apartment complex. We move in on June 28^th and we are excited to be a part of the Camden family!

I took my post I was placing on Camden Harbourview Daily Digest site for residents.
It seems like building three is full of issues as well. Entry doors that aren’t secure and vagrants not only walking through our building but sleeping in our hallways and on the roof. Dont let me forget about the prostitutes and their Customers on the side of the building, in the trash room and even at the front of the building. It just doesn’t feel as if we are secure in this building. How much longer until they walk into our apartments and sleep in our beds and eat our food while we are at work. Shame on you Camden. You need to be the ones preventing these problems from occurring or discovering or discovering them when they arise, and alerting the police. It’s not the job of the residents who pay for a clean safe place to live. Oh yeah, quiet too.
