I enjoyed the overall experience and the quality of food was acceptable, although the chicken portions on the bowl were somewhat lacking, end up having alot of rice left over, so maybe try their half chicken or w. e instead if your looking for a protein rich meal.

If you are within the stores delivery zone do take advantage! Such a bonus! Even though we live only 2 miles away on those lazy days I don’t want to leave the house and get some «Mexican», I use that term loosely Charo is a go to. I usually get the 2 piece combo although lately I have been getting their Taco «tostada» salad bowl which is amazeeeebaawwwlllss. Comes with chicken, guac, pico de gallo, sour cream beans, rice and lettuce all nestled inside of a super flakey tostada shell. Sooo good. Perfect if you want a bit of everything and don’t want to make your own taco or burrito.
Also their brownies are delish.

The food is good and the chicken I swear is better than el pollo loco. I live the paprika they shake on the chicken. The portions also look bigger. I highly recommend.

Pretty good food. I got the chicken burrito comes with a side of chips. This place is okay. Nothing super special. It’s basically like el pollo loco. The customer service I give it a 2. Parking is packed because it’s a big shopping center. They have a small eating area and outside area.

The hubby likes this place and ordered the fajita plate, I ordered a breast of chicken. It was good and the staff friendly but just didn’t outshine Juan pollo or El Polo Loco for me

Their chicken is 1000x better than Pollo Loco. Reasonably-​priced. What impressed me was how clean their restroom was! And, for that, as well as a great ambiance and price… I give them 5-​stars. We’ll definitely come back here again…

Ate here for the first time. The food was healthy, and tasted great. The service was awesome and everyone greeted me with a smile. Estella (The lady at the register) was especially sweet. Highly recommend this place as a quick healthy stop.

I was here on Wednesday, Jan 6, 2016, and ended up in the Emergency Room for 11 hours with food poisoning. I had eaten a steak tostada salad and the steak was bad. Normally, their food is very good, but not this time. Be very aware of the way your food tastes.

I come here because I can order and get my food quickly. I understand that there is a line once in a while. However as a manager you should not be chit chatting with a guy who just wants to toot his own horn because he owns 22 jersey mikes when there are 4 people currently in line waiting to place an order. The conversation was excessively long especially with «hangry» people in line. It was not a case of some casual conversation these guys were blatantly ignoring customers until someone else came to take an order. Only then did the gentleman behind the counter resume taking orders. I usually order food for our office from here however thinking about steering clear for a while.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE CHARO!!! Always great service and delicious food I’ve been eating there for almost 20 years have at least once a month if not more and it never gets old! Food is always so fresh and good portions, service is always fast and friendly Carlos and Lupe are AWESOME!!! Love all the delivery people too! I especially love over the years they’ve adapted to a better salad they don’t use iceberg they use the good stuff mixed greens romaine etc.

I’ve been coming to Charo for the past several years. The service and food here has been so inconsistent. Sometimes the chicken is way too over cooked where the chicken breast is dry and the skin is burnt. There’s been times where I had to wait way too long for my order or they mess up my order. Sometimes they give me a free drink for the long wait.
I have a love hate relationship with Charo chicken. I want to love you, but there’s a lot of times where you disappoint and I hate you!

I went out of my way to try Charo chicken by the Long beach traffic circle and while it is better than El Pollo Loco, it’s not the best grilled chicken I’ve ever had.
The final treatment with the lemon sauce and sprinkle of paprika made the chicken look and smell amazing but I think because they don’t marinate their chicken beforehand the meat isn’t flavorful.
My husband had the breast and the meat inside was okay. Not full of flavor and not dry so okay.
We also got the rice which was fine. They must use cumin which I love but my little boy thought the rice was too spicy.
The pinto beans were seasoned but so is S&W canned pinto beans Cuban style.
Not bad but the search goes on for a good chicken place.

This place is a little better than EPL, but it is too different to directly compare. The beans are good, but the flavor is little unusual. If you like a salty, lemony burnt flavor the original is the way to go. The brownies are good when they are fresh.
The only problem with this place is that the phone seems broken ½ the time when I call in an order. I practically have to scream to finish an order.

They have the best, tastiest, healthiest and most delicious chicken In «Fast Food «Category .
I am lucky to have one, almost walking distance to my Home.
Once a month for sure, got to have my Charo Chicken .

CHARO CHICKEN!
I don’t care about other people’s preference, but my boyfriend and I love Charo Chicken.
It is a bit pricier than El Pollo Loco but I think that the quality of the food they give is better.
I like how their chicken is lean and flavorful! (lemon garlicky seasoning is the best!) I also like their guacamole: D
Haven’t really tried anything else on their menu but their chicken is a must-​try!
Save time and order it thru the phone or online!

I’ve had Charo Chicken twice now, because it’s across the street from where I work. If it were not across the street from where I work, I probably never would have stopped in, but I think it’s maybe the second or third best eating choice within walking distance (second to Cyclo Noodles and possibly Jerry’s).
When their chicken is good, it’s great. It’s tender and the skin is heavily spiced, fatty and flavorful. This tends to happen with the thighs and other dark meat.
When it’s not good, it’s unchewable. You put it in your mouth and it’s like chewing gum, or strawy wood, albeit with a nice exterior skin. This tends to happen with white meat.
Moral of the story: get dark meat. And as for sides, it doesn’t really matter. Everything is passable. The garlic mashed potatoes do have an unidentifiable spice that may not be for everyone, but I kind of like it.

For what they serve and the price — they are a 5 star operation!
The chicken — tender and delicious and flavorful. Not greasy at all!
The sides — fresh and light.
The service — friendly, accommodating, happy to help! Has the feel of a ‘mom and pop’ establishment.
Consistently good food and service!
I would suggest to anyone who goes there during peak hours — take advantage of the online ordering or phone ahead!

Seriously delicious chicken! The lemon garlic sauce is unique and flavorful and will leave you wanting more. The portions are large and satisfying. Online ordering is a breeze.
Service can be hit or miss, especially when it gets busy. Also, the seasoned Charo fries, while delicious, are cold and gross some of the time. Stick with the chicken and rice and you will be feeling groovy (and full).
