This restaurant stays open until midnight so it’s great for a healthy food late in the day craving. I loved the pastor and asada tacos. Their root beer float was a lot smaller than I expected and didn’t look like the picture. Their salsa bar only had four items and seemed a bit lacking. This place reminds me of Starbucks, full of college students most likely from CSULB. I’ll definitely come here again, especially after 10PM when other restaurants close.

Food is Ok, but the«service» will keep me from ever coming back. It’s not that hard to take an order without having to «claim your turf» so to say. However, I apparently walked into someone’s hood where I wasn’t welcome, and the unpleasant hostess who took my order sure let me know that. So congrats, you win, and I will never pass upon your side of the street ever again… Hey management, if you care replace your staff.

Still the king, baby! What can I say that I haven’t before? Nothing. But I can say it twice as loud. You can’t tell because this is all text, but be assured I’m annoying the shit out of my officemate right now by yelling as I type. That’s right Andrew, I’m not stopping for nothin’! Yeah, if you like cheap, simple, delicious tacos muy autentico(as far as my «might as well be gringo» ass is concerned), come on down and get way too many tacos for you to eat, and then eat them all because goddamn you, you’re only in town for a few days. And then come back the next day and do the same thing.

The BEST tacos in town… back again and again for me. NEVERDISAPPOINTS… fresh and yummy street style tacos here. NOW if i can just win a T-shirt that would be AWESOME Their tacos are great, street taco size. Their beans and rice are so tasty, perfect. I’m not a big fan of their mild salsa, but no biggie. Their service quality is excellent, got food about five minutes after ordering. Our cashier, Roxanne(sorry if spelling is wrong) was friendly and efficient. Over all I enjoyed eating at Holé Molé, I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Love, love, LOVE this little hole in the wall! I have been coming here for years, and have never once had a bad experience. Their food isn’t greasy and never leaves you feeling sick after. If I could describe this place in two words, it would be satisfying and affordable. My son the Burrito King is in love with Hole Mole as well :)

Wow, Taco Tuesday — you can’t go wrong. I really enjoyed the fish tacos here, super crispy, super tangy sauce, really great ingredient distribution. They also have free refills on chips. I suggest getting a side of guac, and taking advantage of that deal. Every taco except for the shrimp tacos are 1.19 on Tuesdays, you really can’t beat that deal. My only complaint with this place is the cleanliness, not like I’m expecting much from a dollar taco joint. But, the bathroom is an absolute shame, I felt so dirty coming out of there. Also the salsa bar, one of the ladles fell in the salsa, so the lady reached in with a metal spoon to take it out, and set it upright for usage! GROSS! So many people’s hands have been on that ladle, and it just fell in the entire sauce, and you still put it out for usage? Not a fan of that.

Taco Tuesday is the way to go. You can’t go wrong with seafood or ground game. My favorite was the asada. Lets not forget they are cheaper on Tuesdays. The line goes out the door and parking is scarce. Many will recommend the fried pepper offered near the pick up window. I great taco joint with great value. I’m from Texas and Cali taco joints got a one up so far. 4 stars only because the place was a bit messy looking. Luckily the tacos were tasty even as take home.

Long wait for this. Place is busy, food wasn’t that good and the beef in his was full of grit. Next time I’ll drive by and go to chipotle. Your Robert float was a joke — you froze ice team in the bottom of a cup and added root beer on top so it never floated…

Holy Mole is f#%*&@g right! Hot damn, these are some yum-o tacos! Tiny little joint in an awkward parking lot, but worth risking some light side-swiping for these little tasty tacos! Fish, potato and bean tacos are the ones I tried. And it was all less than 3 dollars! I just about fell over. Fish! Get it! Just do it! Lightly fried, cabbage mix, white sauce and some cheese! Melts so good on the palette! Potato and bean tacos are served in a crispy shell that is about 3 bites big with cheese, lettuce and tomatoes. Super yum! I like the size of these tacos because you can try all different flavors without the guilt. A growing boy might need like 10 to feel full. Amaze!!!

Hole Mole has 50 cent tacos. A person could beg on the street, get a couple of bucks and have a meal. Hole Mole is the cure for starvation. Their food is average and sometimes I think they put too much salt in their food. It’s a local hang out. It’s Kool.

Never been here before and it was my first time today. Even tho it’s not taco Tuesday, I can say I wasn’t disappointed. Friendly customer service and really good food. I plan on coming back after my spring break trip just for more tacos

Exactly what you would expect it to be. A nice little no-frills Mexican restaurant with tasty tacos. Reasonably priced. Decent parking, all things considered.

So I dropped by here on 2/23, which was a Tuesday, and that meant Taco Tuesday! It was around 5pm, and the place was slightly crowded. The tables were filled and the line was starting to get long. It was my first time here, and I went for my go to tacos, the carne asada tacos! Got two of those bad boys! I also heard that Hole Mole had great fish tacos and so I went for two of those as well. I was waiting for my friends who were a little late, and after they came, I squeezed some limes into my carne asada tacos, took a bite, and dang, the carne asada tacos still tasted good, despite the fact that they sat waiting to be eaten for about 10 minutes. After enjoying my carne asada tacos, I went for my fish tacos. The fish tacos were stuffed so it took a while trying to get the right angle so I don’t stuff myself and at the same time get a good bite of everything. And the moment of truth, since everyone I know raves about Hole Mole fish tacos… They were delicious! I enjoyed every bite. Definitely down to come here on Tuesdays after school. Btw, the tacos are $ 1.19 each on Taco Tuesdays!

Came here for breakfast and ordered chorizo con huevos. Lady in the front was nice and very helpful. Sat down at a table and stepped on some mud, after looking around I’ve seen more pieces of mud around, so I moved to another table. The workers didn’t clean it the whole time I was there. After receiving my food it didn’t have any special taste to it and actually think my moms same plate taste better. I just suggest they step it up and do something different to make it different from something you can whip up at home easily. Last thing is that they charge you .99 cents for a small order of chips that I found as a joke cause almost every mexican restaurant you go to it’s complimentary with larger portions.

THEORDER: Sides: Chips: $ 0.99 Entrée: Fish Taco: $ 1.69 Asada Taco: $ 1.39 Carnita Taco: $ 1.39 Pastor Taco: $ 1.39 Chicken Taco: $ 1.39 Wahoo Taco: $ 2.59 Drinks: Horchata: $ 1.59, regular. THEFOOD: The chips are a must get for only a dollar. They are nice and crispy and taste better than any bagged tortilla chips you can find. You’ll probably be craving more after you finish your order. The fish taco is my favorite. It is fried in a nice batter that isn’t too overbearing. The fish is pretty crispy and you definitely taste the fish. My favorite taco here. As for all of the other tacos(asada, carnita, pastor, pollo), they are pretty standard tacos. Nothing wrong about them. Pretty good tacos all around, and the price isn’t too bad. They are cheaper on Taco Tuesday though. The Wahoo taco is a grilled fish taco, and I don’t recommend it. The grilled fish is pretty delicious, but it’s not worth the cost. If you want a fish taste, you can get the regular fish taco for much cheaper. The Horchata is also good. I love horchata, and the horchata here doesn’t disappoint. If you’re looking for a nice, refreshing cinnamon drink, I’d definitely recommend getting the horchata. They do pack a lot of ice though, so that’s a downside. Just ask for less ice though. Not listed in my order is the shrimp taco, and I wouldn’t recommend it. I had it before, and you get pretty little shrimp for the price. I believe it was around $ 2.19, and at that price you should just get the fish taco or something else. For the Rosarito taco in the picture I attached, that was my friend’s so I don’t know about the taste. He said it was good. It was pretty big too. I’ll probably try that next time and update this review. THESTORE: Parking can be horrible. The lot has very little parking for Hole Mole itself, so you have to park on the side street. When I went at 10PM, it was pretty crowded and there were only around 3 to 5 spots on the side street. I would imagine that Taco Tuesday would be too crowded to even come. They got rid of the cheaper tacos after a 9PM or something. That’s a bummer. It was good while it lasted. You have a nice selection of hot sauce and salsa to choose from to go with your tacos, so that’s nice. It’s pretty standard for a taco place to have those though, but I do like being able to get El Yucateco on my tacos, since not all places have that. THERATING: I give this place a 5 because it’s a good place to go to when you want tacos any time of the day. They close late and they are pretty good tacos. The tacos aren’t overpriced, and they taste delicious. It’s a place I’d be coming back to over and over, which is why I’m giving it a 5. However, I’ve never experienced the Taco Tuesday crowd so I don’t know what to say on that. I’d rather pay full price to have less of a crowded store. Even though I give this a 5, there are some stuff I wouldn’t get like the Shrimp taco or the Wahoo taco. It’s all preferences though, but my rating is for the standard tacos that I ordered. I’ve never tried the breakfast or the plates, so ignore my review if you’re looking for input on that. Get the chips and the fish taco though!

Must have gone to this place a million times over the years. I guess that tells you right there wether its good or not. Ok, I know everyone knows what a taco is right? Well these are real tacos! You know… like the ones south of the border? If you’ve been to TJ, Rosarito or Ensenada you know what I’m talking about. Small, soft corn tortillas with delicious meat of your choice popped into the middle. I think the owners are actually from Ensenada. Maybe that’s why their fish tacos are off the hook… Ha! Excellent little suckers. The place isn’t fancy by any stretch of the imagination. Rustic small comes to mind when describing the interior. It does get kind of packed though on Taco Tuesdays cause the University is near by and the tacos are only $ 1.19 each. Perfect meal when your either on a budget or just want something quick and good without getting dressed up for it! Arrrrriba!!!

Food today(1÷18÷16) was terrible. Cooks in the back need to stop fooling around with girls, and get their orders correct. I Called in a Togo order and after waiting an additional 15 minutes in the store, I came home to find a half eaten(?) portion of fish in my taco. Save yourself a trip to this location and visit the one on 4th street instead.

I’m not gonna to lie. The sketchy surroundings and homeless folk begging for money just outside of the building made me think twice about stepping foot inside this place. However, I’ve been waiting quite some time to try out the famous Fish tacos. So, I clinched my pearls and in I went. First, and foremost, shout out to homegirl the cashier who texts simultaneously while taking orders. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a thing. Girlfriend, you’re a BOSS for being employed at a place that lets you text and talk on your phone while servicing customers. I’ve seen it all. I ordered the grilled mahi-mahi fish tacos, a carne asada taco, and a shrimp taco. They were all good, but the mahi-mahi fish taco was amazing! I could eat those every day. The shrimp taco was also good, but the carne asada taco was definitely my least favorite. The flavor was good, but was dry and over overcooked for my taste. Hole Mole please make your way to San Diego. We would be in fish taco Heaven!

Not ashamed to admit this is my go-to taqueria, only because of convenience. On Tuesdays they do the $ 1,taco thing, and it gets packed with LBSU students. Their self proclaimed specialty is the fish taco. I’m not so sure about that. The batter is usually too doughy or under cooked, rarely crispy as it should be. It’s a big piece of fish with that doughnut like enrobing which dwarfs the little 4″ corn tortilla, but don’t be fooled. Their carnitas are solid, carne asada, passable. 2 of 3 salsas on the salsa bar are decent; a mild tomatillo and a rojo spicy with some red chile de Arbol. Their refried beans are above average, without lard, don’t quote me on that, rice average. They make a pencil thin taquito with beef or chicken. Last time I tried them, the chicken tasted old. Tried the«chile relleno» taquitos, which were a canned Anaheim chile stuffed with what looked like jack cheese but was not cooked through and was cold in the middle with raw batter. Wacala! Gross, had to send them back. I’m being lenient on my awarding of 3 stars, as on this day it was more of a 2 star experience. They were training some staff, so they were off their game. I know I will be back again at this taco stand one day.

I got me so many cuz I was craving it all. 1) Horchata– $ 2 for a large yay! 2) Fish taquito– unique and yummy 3) Crispy fish taco– this was good too but needed more meat 4) Carnitas taco– no bueno 5) Carne Asada Fries– The toppings were good with the carne and such but I wanted more avocado and the fries were no bueno. They were not crunchy at all.
