I love the revuelta pupusas! Super yummy! Just moved to the area and I’ve eaten here 3 times already. Called in an order, was told order would be done in 20 mins. Walked in 15 minutes later and order was already ready in the bag. I recommend it to anyone that likes pupusas:)

I had a hankering for pupusas, so I came to Chiltepe since it’s right in my neighborhood. I ordered a pupusa with queso and loroco and a side of platano frito. My order arrived within a few minutes. It was hot, fresh, and tasty. I like the cabbage slaw that goes on top. The owner(I guess) warned me that one of the two bottles of salsa was hot; I avoided that one like the spicy-ness wimp that I am. The other salsa was pretty good. I will eat here again. Looking forward to trying some other types of pupusas!

This little hole in the wall is awesome for Salvadorian or mexican food.!! The pupusas are amazing!!! My only complaint is that it is always hot in there no matter the weather!!! But the food is worth the sweat!!!

I can now add the flautas to the list of must try here at Chiltepe. The flautas are very meaty and perfectly cooked. The combo comes with rice, beans, salad and 3 Flautas. I highly recommend them to Anyone in the area.

I loved the food. I definitely recommend it. I don’t speak Spanish and the menu is all Spanish but I could recognize a few words. Really good food. Very tasty. They also have a lot of options for drinks.

Hey Long Beach! You have a great Salvadoran place here! I didn’t try the Mexican menu, but pollo populsas and main breakfast plate: chorizo with eggs. Great, lots of flavor! Not pricey and with a whole bunch of food in one portion!

You have to get the chiccarone and cheese pupusas, they are cooked just right. The first time I tried pupusas I didn’t know what the big deal was because it was dry with no flavor. This place opened my eyes to how amazing and satisfying they could be. I was suprised at how filling just two could be. Make sure to eat it with that vegetable juice thingy, sorry folks don’t know what it’s called. Too yummy not to try at least once!

Authentic Salvadoran! I’ve only had pupusas and a desayuno tipico. Both were great and I really appreciate the quality of their chicharron. The customer service is great and always makes sure you’re taken care of.

Bang for your buck! Good flavor. Had a bean and cheese pupusa and the platano, firjol, huevo, crema, queso y tortilla breakfast. Surprised to find Avocado in my breakfast. All in all I’d definitely recommend the food.

Came here for late breakfast, had a typical salvadorian breakfast and bistec encebollado, food is great, tortillas are home made, place is clean the service it’s a bit slow but worth the wait, make sure You ask for the dressing, or else they’ll put what ever they want on the salad that comes with the lunch menu, don’t expect to find great coffee, just your average, but the Food was very fresh and presentation was nice, see picture. I will definitely drive here again.

I found this place on Unilocal and was pleasantly surprised. My son loved the pupusas and they even gave us an extra one for free. We may dine in next time. Great find.

I’ve only tried the pupusas here but they are so good specially the mixed ones! They taste really home made & fresh. I’ve done both take out and dine in and the service was great both ways. The owner is awesome because everytime I place an order for my family she gives us a free pupusa or two :)

I learned the difference between salvadorian and Mexican horchata. I actually like the salvadorian better. LOL this may be the new place for pupusa. Fresh handmade yummy. Not a fancy place. Staff greeted us with smile. Yep, food is good!

Love the pupusas, but definitely don’t enjoy the employees. Never friendly and always seem annoyed by me. The pupusas keep me coming back for now.

Having had plenty of Salvadoran food in NYC and raving about pupusas to my family, my dad wanted to try them while we were all visiting my brother in Long Beach so he found this place, thanks to Unilocal. This little restaurant is homely, minimally decorated and is obviously a favorite among locals. Not only does Chiltepe offer Salvadoran eats but also Mexican. But why eat Mexican here when it’s all about El Salvador cuisine! We also found out at the end of our meal that they deliver but we didn’t ask how far out they will go. The food here is freshly made, which you can tell by not only the taste, but also the fact that it takes a while to get your dish. But the patience pays off when that plate arrives! I had both the asada con queso and chicarron con queso pupusa. Both were very good and of a filling size. The curdito(Salvadoran cole slaw), Salvadoran cheese and Salvadoran cream that came with it were also as good. I’ve had Salvadoran cheese and found it too salty but fortunately at Chiltepe, it wasn’t. Cheap, delicious and a must try!

Excellent Quality. Don’t let this small joint fool you otherwise. Try it and let me know otherwise. Sure, the menu is only in Spanish. If I say its good, its good. Parking can be a «bitch» here… we parked illegally by the Rent-A-Center parking lot… maybe I should park by the 99 cent store nearby next time.
