No more bacon doughnuts, nothing special about this place anymore. They still have a blueberry donut, but not as good as M&M Donuts in Anaheim. Party’s over…

Boo no more bacon maple donuts… I now have no reason to go here. There’s a much better donut shop 5 minutes away from here. With the change in management this donut shop is just like any other donut shop in Long Beach. If anything this donut shop is now below average.

7 Star Donut — Not Doughnut Deli. Average donut store and no longer the awesome one I read reviews about. Where is this bacon maple donut I was hoping to try?!

What was once a Mecca for weird and fairly tasty donuts has been turned into just another boring donut shop, and a poorly run one at that. Apparently, the margin on bacon maple bars was not profitable enough, so they were discontinued. The new owners quickly missed the point of why this place had a cult following

I really loved this place… then I heard they were no longer there. I called the store to confirm. Here’s how it went. Me:(with optomism) «Hello. Is this doughnut deli??» Lady:(with blunt, thick Cantonese accent): No more doughnut deli. We ___donut. *CLICK* Me:(heartbroken) Wait? What is your name? Me: Hello? *BEEPBEEPBEEP* Yes…this call did actually happen. And my coworker busted up at the sign of my genuine disappointment. The Click was not only the sound of the phone hanging up, but also of my tricuspid valve bursting of disappointment. Will write a new review later for the new place. But this listing should be closed — they have a new name with new management.

New ownership, but not much has changed. Same good stuff– donuts and turkey croissants are my fave. They also still sell lotto tix, which is really why I stop here. ;-) 7 * Donuts is the new name, I think. The sign is kinda strange.

OUTOFBUSINESS! I knew it was coming. This place sent out a mass e-mail that announced they were out of business. All those deals purchased, all that false advertising. Bad business. Karma is a BYATCH!

The donuts are delicious, but you have to work for them. The first time I went, I had a groupon that I received as a gift. I was yelled at and told the next time I come don’t use a groupon. They can’t pay their bills. Because my family loved the donuts so much(maple bacon and blueberry) I came back the same week to buy more. FULLPRICE. I waited and the same lady who yelled at me would not acknowledge my existence. Granted she was yelling at another man who was placing an order for pick up the next morning. The gentleman working with her helped 5 people who came in after me while ignoring me. I swear I felt like I was in the Soup Nazi episode of Seinfeld. Here’s the deal… the donuts are that good. I waited. Humbly. And I only feared those he helped before me would ask for the last 6 blueberry donuts in the case. I’m not sure if the bad treatment only makes me want them more, or if they are worth it. But, I am willing to accept crappy treatment to get these donuts for my family. Might be my issue… I don’t even eat donuts. Hmm. Even I am not sure what to think about my review. You are on your own! Edit: Ah hah, I went to their website and they are out of business. These must be new owners… too bad:(

Maple Bacon Donuts! Once a rarity, these treats can now be found in many mom and pop donut shops across So Cal. And now this once rare donut has come to the LBC… and that makes me happy. Donut Deli is a small, no frills donut shop that sells both old favorites and some new and unique flavors. Of course they’ve got the maple bacon And the tiger tail Plus the old fave glazed and always hyped blueberry glazed Of course they got holes And they’ve also got dipping sauces and toppings for your holes that come free with a Unilocal check in Over all, I like this shop. The donuts are light and fluffy and taste marvelous. I just wished they answered their phone. I called the other day at 9am to see how many maple bacon’s they had in stock so I could pick up a dozen for a party. After calling 5 times with no answer I decided to just drive over. Mistake. When I arrived they were open but not only were they sold out of maple bacon donuts, they were almost 100% sold out of everything. If only they would’ve answered their damn phone I would’ve known not to waste a trip over there. Oh well. I’ll still give them 4 stars for making marvelous, light and fluffy donuts.

Greedy Bastards love Donuts. Donut Deli speaks to the greedy bastard inside me. The best part about the donut shop is innovation. Donut Deli does not come across s just another donut shop. For example, I never seen fruity peebles donut before until I went to Donut Deli. I like the blueberry donuts and the fact they honored my Unilocal check in deal of 10 donut holes for free. Great place for us greedy bastards.

I guess I came at a bad time, around 11:30 am. I was hoping to try their bacon maple donut and bear claws, but they had neither. I ended up buying a few of their blueberry donuts, a chocolate glaze one with custard, regular glazed one with strawberry jelly filling, some donut holes, and a turkey cranberry sandwich. Other than that, all they had were cake donuts with different types of cereal sprinkles on top. I’m not a huge fan of cake donuts so the blueberry ones were the only ones I wanted to try, they were fine. I was very disappointed by the two custard and strawberry filling ones though. I’ve NEVER eaten a custard or jelly-filled donut that had practically no jelly or custard in it. It’s like they just injected a tiny dab, the size of a dime in the case of the custard, and the size of a quarter for the strawberry one. That is just deceptive and cheap. As for the sandwich, I kept trying to figure out what it was that tasted so weird… kind of made me want to gag. After a process of elimination between the cheese spread, turkey, bread, and the cranberry sauce, it turned out the cranberry sauce was the item that tasted nasty. Could not finish the sandwich because it was just bad. On the positive side, the girl working there was friendly.

I have not tried their signature treats yet, but the doughnut I just ate was so delicious that I had to leave a review. I just had the best honey wheat doughnut I have ever tried. It had just the right amount of glaze so that it didn’t overwhelm the flavor of the cake. It was crunchy on the outside and moist and soft in the inside. If that was the only doughnut I could ever eat, I wouldn’t mind one bit. Try it. Oh, and the service was awesome.

This is definitely a great spot in my neighborhood. This place is adjacent from the Wardlow Station here in Long Beach. The doughnuts here are delicious and well priced. I had the Bacon Maple Bar and the Tiget Tail Twist. The Bacon Maple Bar was pretty good. I had gotten to this place pretty late and I think it would have tasted much better if I had come when it was fresh. The Tiger Tail Twist was amazing though! The texture was light and fluffy, with just a little crunch from the sugar. It wasn’t too sweet either, just a right balance. The only con about this place is the parking. It’s a small lot with 4 businesses sharing it. The owner informed me that on Friday’s they stay open later and sell fresh blueberry doughnuts. I haven’t tried it yet, but it’s a good way to save on gas if I ever feel like getting some M&M’s blueberry doughnuts.

Bacon maple donuts are not my thing. I really wanted to try the combination, and Donut Deli puts A LOT of bacon on theirs, but it was too much for me. Lol. I loved the blueberry ones, though, and I want to come back for their made-to-order blueberry nights. Yum!

I came here to try their bacon maple donut since I was in Long Beach. The maple was wack and the bacon pieces were too small. The guy at the counter was nice though.

Ever since the original owners had passed the proverbial torch to their kids, this shop has certainly spruced up their act. The first thing I noticed when walking in is that the place has been cleared out and reorganized. The menu definitely looks refreshed as well, with many new pastries and sandwich items to boot. I came here with a couple of my younger siblings in search of the fabled blueberry donut. Luckily, we got there just in time to hop on a freshly-made batch. Around these parts, M&Ms donuts in Anaheim has become renowned for serving these gems and, with my family’s approval, can honestly say that these are just as good. My brothers also shared a maple-bacon bar, which was generous with prefectly-cooked bacon, as well as a tiger tail, which they considered equal to the ones served at the famous Donut Man in Glendora. All in all, I’m quite happy to have this place around and will definitely be back, as it features some of the rarer donut treats out there without the long drives and hyped lines.

My favorite doughnut shop! I grew up with this morning staple and was shocked to see that they were under new management. I believe the business was passed down to the previous owner’s son. The owners, Hien and Amber, have really revamped my local donut shop in a positive light. They still have the same menu from the previous ownership, plus more! They’ve introduced a couple new items, such as the maple bacon doughnuts, sandwiches, and cinnamon sugar holes. With the old ownership, my go-to item was the glazed donut holes. Times have changed. Now it’s the bacon maple bar. This high calorie monster is usually available at county fairs, but they’ve been able to provide this doughnut concoction on a daily basis. The calories are worth it. It’s like eating soft, chewy pancakes with creamy maple syrup and crispy, salty bacon in one bite. Yum. Only $ 1.50 too! My only gripe is that they do have a limited supply of these little beasts.(Update: Hien personally informed me that you can pre-order their doughnuts one day ahead of pick-up, just in case their elusive bacon maple bars are sold out!) I appreciate all the hard effort Hien and Amber have put into promoting, marketing, and advertising Doughnut Deli. They spend a lot of time creating videos and posting pics of their mom-and-pop corner doughnut shop, which can be found on their Facebook and YouTube pages. Keep up the good work!
