I was going to order Eccos tonight but after my lunch order with them did not process this afternoon via Eat24(went to pick up my order and they said it never came through– must’ve been a sign), and reading recent reviews, I’ve decided to go elsewhere. Also, to see that the operations manager would be insulting to patrons over a $ 5 pizza product is absurd. even though I like their food well enough– I will no longer patronize this business and will take my business to DeliNews or Dean’sPizza.

Really good homemade salad dressings, although a bit salty. That’s about it. The Pizza is like a really good pizza that you can probably make at home. It’s good but nothing fancy, and salty. They don’t place Parmesan or chili on the tables, just more salt and pepper. For dessert, don’t expect BJs pizookie, we ordered their version and it was so hard we literally had to fight with it to get the cookie out. It was too little dough for the bake pan and cooked too fast. You’re close to being something good Eccos, but not today.

The first time I ordered they were fantastic… my order was perfect, minus silverware. The second time I ordered… took longer than the first, I asked for cheese on my salad(barely got any), asked for silverware(received none) and paid for tomatoes and mushrooms on my pizza(didn’t have either). It would be nice if they were consistent. Do I go for the tie breaker?!?

Called in from Michigan to have a pizza delivered to my boyfriend to his hotel on a work trip in Cali… Delivery was quick and they followed my «directions» to a T! Wanted a little message written inside and the pizza delivered shortly after he arrived and it was all executed perfectly. Thanks SO much! Whoever I spoke to over the phone was exceptionally kind and helpful! P. S. The boyfriend loved it! You guys are awesome

Long. To summarize, owner was very insulting. Never in my life in any situation have I been treated this way or been brought to causing scene. My son and I went to Ecco’s pizza tonight. Ordered Italian Nachos and a kids pizza half pineapple, half cheese, apple juice was included. Got out food. Checked the pizza, it was a meat lovers. My son will not eat sausage so I took it back. I asked if they were going to throw it away, because if they were, I would have eaten it. The cashier said«no, we need to find out who ordered it.» They gave me another pizza. It had no pineapple. I was asked if I wanted them to add pineapple. After being under the impression that they were going to serve pizza that had left the restaurant, and I had touched as the topping are under the cheese, I did not want any pizza for my son that may have been returns or unsafe cooking procedures followed. I got a refund in the pizza, $ 5. I went to the car, called to let the manager know that it seemed as if the pizza was going to be served after I had taken it out of the restaurant. I was assured it was not. When I heard that, I told them, I would get my original pizza then, so I could feed my son. I did not say I would not pay for it. I was told they would bring it out. My charge was pending, I had no proof of a cancellation of the original order. A nice man brought it out and said his manager said I could not have the pizza. Knowing that I now needed to get dinner elsewhere, I asked t return the Italian nachos. A minute late the owner came out in a fury. He came out harshly and demeaningly telling that they did not give me the wrong pizza. I said, yes, I ordered a meat lovers pizza. He insisted that they did not give me a meat lovers pizza(or whatever Ecco’s calls their meat pizza. I told him the original pizza sent out was meat lovers and i took it back in. He accused me of lying. Then I was mad. I went in to get proof from the female cashier that that did indeed happen. He said I got three free apple juice refills. I got no apple juice refills, I asked for a cup of water.(The owner was very angry at this time). I only allowed my son to drink part of his one cup of juice so he would not be full. Showed him my cup of water. He offered no apology. I suggested an apology was in order, he gave a pittance of an apology, like when a 5 year old is forced to apologize. The manager was so demeaning. I have never been treated like this. I have also never been brought to the point of yelling in public. The who problem with the initial pizza whether it was supposed to have pineapple was also put on me. They told me I did not order it. I always order pineapple. There was obviously a lack of communication when the order was placed/taken, which happens. I would have happily taken a «fixed» pizza if I was not under the impression that they were going to re-serve the original incorrect pizza. It was not about the $ 5.00 that he thought I was going to rip him off for. I offered to make a $ 500 donation to the charity of his choice. To any one in the restaurant that I disrupted when I was yelling, I apologize. The owner was being very demeaning calling me a liar and I wanted it clarified. A man of his age and being in business should know how to handle simple mistake much better. I am appalled and amazed. I am very patient and giving. I have never seen anybody act so absurdly and I sure would not try to swindle him for a $ 5.00 pizza that happens to be a great deal. Sadly, I will never eat at Ecco’s Pizza again, even though I have family that worked there from the beginning. My advice, if your order is not correct, just take it, you risk being thoroughly shamed if you mention it and in no way, contact management to alert them kindly of a potential health hazard.

We had a pretty bad experience here. Took a very, very long time to get food, and after waiting way too long, a couple of the orders were wrong, with no time to get it fixed since we were already late getting back to work. The server was kind but not very present/available… Not to mention we were the only ones in the entire restaurant. After all that, the food was only OK. Definitely will choose another pizza place next time :/

We came in for a co-workers farewell lunch, and were the only ones in the restaurant. Great we thought — we won’t have to wait long. Wrong. It took 50 minutes to get 5 personal pizzas, 1 salad, and 2 sandwiches. The waiter was polite, but seemed untrained and inattentive. After 30 minutes of waiting he brought us an order of garlic bread on the house which was nice. A lot can be forgiven once the food comes, if it’s good. This was not. The pizza crust was thin, which is fine, but it was dry and stale tasting; meat on one pizza looked like it had been put on after the fact and was barely warm; what was supposed to be a roast beef sandwich appeared instead to be pastrami but it didn’t taste like pastrami. Ecco’s has been around for a long time, and I wish them the best, but I, and probably non of my co-workers will be eating here again.

I like their food, but they are so hard to work with. They have specials, but you have to dine in. They have also messed up on my order and acted like it was my fault for not checking the order. GETITRIGHT and I don’t have to check my order. I pay you to check my order. Too bad, I will go somewhere else. There are some good places right down the street!

I get that some guys feel the need to judge every woman who walks in, but when the server and kitchen staff are saying(loud enough for the main dining hall to hear«she’s a little thick, but not too heavy like(woman’s name). But if I’m drunk I’ll take anything» I feel a little like not tipping. And not coming back. And never looking at these sexist people again. Luckily, they waited until the«sexy girl who is skinny on top and bottom» left before making their comments about her. I’ve been here a lot and I’ve never felt as uncomfortable(here or anywhere for that matter) while eating out. Also yelling across the room to patrons who happen to be friends outside of work«you better leave a tip» or anything along those lines is unprofessional, and if you keep up that behavior you’ll be a server forever. Still, this Italian chopped salad tho.

Ok. Tonight’s pizza was especially great! The crust and the cheese.EXCELLENT. Like the 70s and 80s when the man with the mustache was tossing dough in the kitchen. Keep hand tossing the dough!!! The crust was think and the roundness wasn’t perfect. the way it should be(Get my hint???) You need to keep doing what you did tonight!!! It’s an absolute must!

I would NEVER eat here. I went to the restroom, closed the stall door, and a GIGANTICLIVEROACHFELLFROMTHECEILINGONTOTHEFLOORBEHINDME. In a 3′ square stall. That could have fallen onto my head or down my shirt. WTF??? PS, I have a phobia of these f*ing things. I was literally that girl that jumps on a chair when a mouse shows up. Except this thing was nowhere as cute as a mouse. Nothing will convince me to set foot in this place again. God only knows where the rest of this thing’s family are…

I rarely write reviews but we just left about an hour ago and I’m still really upset about the dinner and had to leave a review for Ecco’s. We were having a joint birthday party with 11 guests that had been reserved in advance. The only other people in the restaurant for most of the time that we were there was another party the room over. There were about three or four servers working that one room, constantly in and out, including what looked like the restaurant manager or assistant manager and they only had a few more people in their party than we did. But our party had one server who literally came around FOUR times in the two hours that we were there. When he would actually come around to our table, he acted like he had no idea what he was doing and when we would ask him for two things, he would only come back with one of them. As we were waiting for our pizza, other staff members decided to clean the entire room around us and put together all of the tables while we were trying to have a party. They knew that we had a reservation, and that was super unprofessional and should’ve been done before we arrived. As someone who has worked in the pizza business for several years and put together several much larger parties that we would have to do multiples of in one day, I was outraged with how they were running their business. Then our THREE pizzas arrived, after 45MINUTES of waiting. But no surprise here, we ended up with four pizzas because one of the first three he brought was somebody else’s. After he dropped off the pizza, we didn’t see our server again for another 45 minutes, when he dropped off the check(SHOCKER). Luckily, a busboy who was extremely helpful, polite and professional, came over and helped out and went and got our cake and everything we needed. If it weren’t for him, we probably would’ve just left and abandoned the cake in the freezer. And the only reason he came to help was because one of the birthday celebrants had to get up and ask for someone to help us because our server was nowhere to be found. Also, I would like to point out that the busboy was very professional and said that our server(who I can’t remember his name but I know it begins with a ‘J’) was«busy and I apologize» but I don’t think the server had any other tables and every time he wasn’t with us I saw him joking with his coworkers in the distance, not actually working. Needless to say, I will never come back here again and it’s a shame because I remember it being a good place when I was a kid.

The 2016 Unilocal500, Review #041: I was in a rush. I told them that and they worked with me. The employees were all great and visit memorable. They brought a margarita pizza and Italian nachos to the table. The pizza was a thinner than I was used to at my favorite places in New York and Florida but, everything else was good. I read a review that said the place was average.. Being that average food was ordered for a pizza parlor that makes more than pies, it would be silly for me to post a 5-star rating. Besides, I have seriously been reserving 5-stars for places I return to or wow me. out of my seat. NOTE: I rushed my eats and chugged my drink and went to see Reverend Horton Heat over at Alex“s Bar. A great night with the LBC.

Ecco’s Pizza has what I consider THE best pizza in town. I know some folks are partial to Marri’s = few know Marri was the father of the original owner of Ecco’s. The recipes are similar with one important difference: Ecco’s Pizza has the cheese on top of the other ingredients. The result is a buttery thick layer of browned mozzarella and crust that has a little softness and a crunch to finish which comes straight out of brick ovens The marinara sauce is tangy and this is what I would recommend: For 2 people, with leftovers. 1 medium special pizza [pepperoni, sausage and mushrooms] anchovies on the side. 1 small antipasto salad Comes with garlic bread. If you can, please don’t put a creamy dressing on the salad go for the Italian which is an excellent red wine vinaigrette. If dining in, drink some Stella Artois. Share a pitcher, if you are so inclined. They have been putting out consistently good product for many years and that is due to the fact that they have the same cook behind the scenes. I know because I worked there back in the 80s. The restaurant has changed ownership but the menu remains the same. Mangia!

We just went here again last week and the service was a little slow but the pizza was delicious. The pepperoni pizza is my favorite but we tried the meat lovers and I have to say I really liked it and would order it again.

This review is specifically about the delivery service from Ecco’s. Three words… Don’t do it. I have been going to Ecco’s for 20 years. I don’t like the changes made in the last ten years, so I don’t dine in there very often. But again, this review is about the delivery service. We have had bad experiences with delivery in the past but keep hoping they will sort out the issues. No such luck. We ordered our pizza at 6:13 p.m. and were told it would take about an hour. That’s a long time for a pizza delivery, but we were okay with it. One hour and fifteen minutes later we called and were told it was«on the way.» We live 10 minutes form Ecco’s but 30 minutes later our pizza arrived. That’s 1 hour and 45 minutes from the time we ordered it. As would be expected at that point, the pizza was stone cold and had to be put in the over to reheat it. To add insult to injury this place is very expensive. The pizza and a small antipasto salad with tax, tip, and delivery change was about $ 50. That’s $ 50 for bad delivery service and cold pizza. If you are thinking about ordering Ecco’s for delivery… Don’t do it.

It’s not that there’s anything WRONG with Ecco’s, it’s just that there’s nothing exceedingly RIGHT about it either. It’s all very basic. The pizza is standard, ambiance is as an average diner, service is fine. It’s good if you just want some basic pizza that’s close to the CSULB campus.

Probably one of the best if not THE best pepperoni pizzas I have ever had. They actually layer the cheese on top of the toppings here and it’s generous. I love the hot stringy cheese that stretches when you pull the slice out. I’m pretty sure the tomato sauces has wine in it :) Also got the garlic cheese bread and antipasto salad. Garlic cheese bread is out of this world with the marinara dipping sauce. The salad has ham, pepperoni and eggs in it which I love. The lettuce itself could be a little more fresh but overall a solid salad. Portion sizes here run large. The wait staff are incredibly nice and helpful. Like above and beyond friendly. The prices aren’t super cheap but then again the pizza is a notch above. This makes Ecco’s one of my top favorite pizza joints in LA.

I have been coming here since I was a kid. I actually had them as a sponsor for my baseball team when I was like 10! So, I guess I’ve been coming here for 35+ years. Their pizza to me is as good as I remember. Now that I live in South Orange County, I don’t get here as much, but beings that I work local, I get here now and again. I love their pizza! Lots of cheese and goodies! Mmmm mmmm!!!
