El Rey Bakery

went this morning and bad service! the guy there looked like he was bother by me ordering… i ordered a shake and grabbed some bread that bread was HARD & OLD and the shake tasted nasty !!!

The El Rey Bakery is a little neighborhood «joint» that constantly calls my name. Nothing fancy here, but it always makes me happy. They have the best «liquados», better known as smoothies! I love that they just take chunks of fresh fruit (or veggies)…no powders or fillers, toss them in the blender, and voila’ instant fresh, healthy, satisfying breakfast or snack.
Also on the menu are massive fresh fruit and yoghurt plates… a great alternative to your regular greasy drive-​thru offerings.
Although I have never ordered any of their bakery goods, I quite often get their homemade tamales. My favorite menu item to order is the «milanesa torta»…basically, a chicken-​fried steak sandwich which includes refried beans, tomatoes, lettuce and avocado slices. It is large enough to split with a friend.
This is a family owned business and I have always been welcomed with a smile and good service. The ambiance is lacking, but the munchies more than make up for it. Treat yourselves!
