Helen Grace Chocolates

I went there a few days ago and its closed for good in Long Beach. What happen this place.

Oh what a big disappointment. I wanted to buy easter eggs for all my family. You know the kind we use to sell when we were kids. With the little hard candy flowers on top. Well now the look like they are made lazy. They drizzle some different color chocolate and that’s it. Well. I’m just very sad that they would change perfection. SEE’S CANDY HERE I COME…

How the hell are the girls that work here still employed!!! They’re absolutely miserable and clearly do not want to be there. They act annoyed every time you ask them a question and half the time don’t even know the answers to them. I came in and chose about 10 chocolates and instead of putting them in a box the girl just threw them in a small paper bag where they all kind of got smashed together and melted a bit. Very disappointing.

I’m here right now Friday night at 9:39 and sign says they close at 10. There are two girls inside and they closed the doors. It’s Halloween night and raining. People are trying to buy sweets, but these two girls decided to close early. Not cool! #business101

This store has lazy employees. Their sign has a 10:00 PM closing time… But yet, it’s 9:30 and they’re closed. There are two girls inside ignoring us at the front door. I understand that WE all want to go home early, but if you have a job to do, you should do it. If you really hate your job, then you should maybe quit and not let the business suffer.

Used to work next door to the factory. Will never eat Helen Grace chocolates after seeing cockroaches crawling out of the boxes from their. Eww!

Growing up this was one of my favorite candy bars. We use to sale this brand for school at 1 $ a piece my favorite Was and still is Milk Almond Chocolate && Peanut Butter Chocalate.
After time growing up these candy bars dissapeared & soon the grade schools was selling a different brand. I thought bummer
That is until…
A few years back I found the location inside of Del Amo Mall && use to travel there to get the candy bars always had assistance. Not long after sadly they closed, I thought all hope was lost until .y sister in law told me about two locations during her pregnancy cravings but she highly recommended this location and we both made the trip just to get these bars.

IF you have not had these chocolates your mussing out I highly recommend the travel for thus candy. They also have candy apples.

I’ve been buying from Helen Grace for years now. They’re conveniently located next to the movie theater so I like to go in and buy candy to sneak into the theater… even though the prices are a bit high they are still lower than theater prices.
My most recent visit led me to write this review because it seems like the quality has declined rapidly in the last year or so. Earlier this week, I purchased bulk candy (jelly beans) to eat during a movie. Ten minutes into the movie I reached into my candy stash and bit into a jelly bean that was so hard it bordered on being able to chip my teeth. My next jelly bean tasted like biting into a clod of dirt.
Honestly if they can’t manage the stock on bulk candy and let it expire and deteriorate in quality, it makes me question the quality of their other merchandise. I will not be buying candy from Helen Grace again.

You guys are missing something really good if you haven’t tried
this chocolate yet.

They always have the freshest caramel apples from $ 5 – 7! It smells great in here! If you’re lucky you will get a free sample of chocolate with your purchase but it seems as if they’re forgetting to give it to me more often than usual. Grr. Located right next to the food court and across from Zen Buffet in the Long Beach Town Center.

Horrible service!!! The employees are extremely rude. What establishment do you know that the customers have to greet the workers to be acknowledged. I have never had such horrible treatment at a business. They need customer service 101 training. I will do my business elsewhere from now on!!! Save yourself a trip and go somewhere else!!!

I’ve loved Helen Grace Chocolates for as long as I can remember.
It was my mother who turned me on to the amazingly wonderful chocolates. We used to go all the time to the store in Brea but then the lease was taken from them and Brea Helen Grace ceased to exist sadly.
The choco is rich and creamy, not waxing tasting like See’s. Helen Grace makes See’s taste like garbage.
They can be a little pricey but when you taste any one of there chocolates… you’ll see the Gates of Saint Peter.
I highliy reccomend any one of their truffles, their single chocolate bars in dark choclate with alomond or without, milk choco, milk with almond, crunchy, and whatever other single bars are there.

Helen Grace chocolates is a very clean and friendly establishment. They did have samples at this location but the manager informed me that it was costing too much and couldn’t afford to do so any longer. I am not a sees fan because there chocolate contains more wax than chocolate. I know it may taste good but like MC Donald’s it has cheap ingredients which explains low cost. Helen Grace sells high quality chocolates with high quality ingredients made locally. UNLIKE sees. There candy weighs from .88 up depending on the piece and some pieces are even made there!

Not bad, but I’d rather have See’s or Ghiradelli anyday.

Hmm. where to begin? To start off, I have been eating Helen Grace chocolate since I was a little girl (no joke). My elementary school did fund-​raising through the company, and every year that we had to do it, I’d get super excited and buy a couple of bars for myself.
The chocolate bar goes for $ 1.25 each. I believe they have milk chocolate with almond, dark chocolate with almond, nutty buddy (peanut cluster with caramel cover in chocolate), milk chocolate peanut butter bar, and crunch bar. They also have various chocolate behind their glass shelves. Because I’m a nut person, I love the milk chocolate macadamia nut, milk and dark chocolate almond cluster, and milk chocolate walnut cluster. They have chocolate covered strawberries and cherries too!
What I think…
Helen Grace’s milk chocolate almond bar beats Hershey’s almond bar.
As for the store, it is located in Long Beach Town Center, right across from Zen Buffet and near the movie theater. They do take cards, but there is a $ 5 minimum. It is a neat little place to check out.

There’s something in it that gives me a headache whenever I eat it.

I like the inside of Helen Grace. It is overflowing with chocolate selections – almost like a kid’s candy store. The service is also good and friendly. And the prices are reasonable.
In terms of chocolate though, it is definitely not up to the freshness/​quality of See’s or Godiva. Helen Grace offers turtles (milk chocolate, caramel, and different nuts), which I love. However, the chocolate just wasn’t that good. Something about it tasted it a little off.
I bought my dad both a box of See’s and Helen Grace. See’s went quickly while the Helen Grace box stayed around for a while.

I bought my boyfriend one of the truffle roses and he kept the beheaded faux stem for years on a vase. I grew up selling their chocolate bars in elementary school. I hate the packaging but I like the almond, dark chocolate, and crunch bars the most. My mother loves their cherry cordials. Skip the sugar free line because if you eat most of a box in one sitting, it makes you go.

Oh man, you guys have to check out the Helen Grace warehouse sales around holidays, Easter and Christmas mainly. The warehouse is in Rancho Dominguez, off of Del Amo (Rancho Way). There is sooo much discounted chocolate and goodies, even little stocking stuffers and crap like that. The carmel apples are to die for, and they are only like 3 bucks. Oh my god, I almost forgot about the best thing there, the chocolate covered oreos. drooooooooooooooooool
The absolute worst part? It is right across the street from my office, so it’s impossible NOT to hit them up for holiday specials!

I am so glad I found this location after the store in the Brea mall closed. Helen Grace’s chocolate butter easter eggs are the easter treat I like most; seriously, nothing else I’ve had anywhere else even compares. I go the day after easter when they put their remaining stock on sale. In other words, I stock up!
Ok, the other Helen Grace specialty about which I am positively mad are these little chocolates called melt aways. I guess it’s some kind of whipped chocolate or something. Anyway, it truly does melt away in your mouth. As long as you don’t think about all the fat that must have gone into making it taste so good, there is really nothing quite like Helen Grace’s melt aways anywhere else.
