Dr. Ryan is excellent!!! He takes his time and explains step by step the eye exam procedure. He is very patient and kind! I can’t recommend this office and Dr. Ryan enough!

Dr. s Hertzog, Ryan and their staff are the best thing you can do for your eyesight. I had an outstanding experience every time I have visited, including cataract surgery a year ago. Walked me through everything in an easy and expert way. Wouldn’t go anywhere else.

I have been seeing Drs. Hertzog and Ryan for years and have had cataract surgery, among other things. I’ve recently been seeing Dr. D. Hertzog who is helping me cope with an allergy to my cat that causes discomfort in my eyes. He has been so very helpful and patient and because of his expert attention I believe I will be able to keep my cat. Dr. Ryan is also first-​rate — meticulous and pleasant. I’ve also gotten numerous pair of glasses there and have enjoyed working with the staff. I have recommended Hertzog eye care to my friends and give them five stars without hesitation or reservation.

I visited this office a couple weeks ago and had a top-​notch experience. From the girls at the front desk to the doctors to the optical, everyone here is helpful and friendly. They can address all of my eye care needs in a single visit. They have optometrists, MDs/​surgeons, and opticians — all on-​site. Everyone is competent and friendly making for a very smooth experience (even though I am very sensitive when it comes to having my eyes examined). The beautiful new building is a major plus but I wouldn’t mind visiting this business wherever it went.

I’m proud to say I’ve been a patient here for 10 years. As a student eager to see more clearly what my instructors were writing in class and sharpen my surroundings in general, I knew it was time to make an appointment. From day one Dr. Herzog and his staff have expertly treated me. I would absolutely recommend his office.
I credit their friendly and professional staff with ensuring a positive experience each visitation. They guaranteed comfort with my first pair of glasses, and I have continued to feel excellent all the way to my now almost daily use of soft contact lenses. I know I’m well cared for.

My wife and I would award 10 stars if we could. It starts right at the top. Dr. Hertzog is simply the best. In addition to our regular eye care at his office over the years. recently he surgically removed both of my cataracts (3 weeks apart) and placed restore lenses in each eye. Even when the patient got a little anxiety during the second surgery, Dr. Hertzog was very calming and reassuring and everything went smoothly. The results are simply amazing and I highly recommend the restore lenses. I’m 74 and reading without glasses for the first time in a very long time. Even better, my vision is only going to improve because the last surgery was one week ago. The office staff and associates are a direct reflection and are as professional and caring as Dr. Hertzog. Absolutely outstanding and if I didn’t think so highly of Dr. Hertzog I would really try to steal some of those employees. Folks, this office is that good and if you value your eyesight this should be the place for you. BTW, we live out of state and still come to see Dr. Hertzog

My husband needed to get in for an emergency visit and they took him in right away and were very tentative. All the Dr.‘s and staff were unbelievably friendly.
Each time we’ve been back we continue to have the same great experience.

DO NOT SEE THIS DR AND HIS MEDICAL STAFF
I scheduled eye exams for the entire family and gave them my insurance information. Over the phone they said they accepted our insurance. When we got there we waited 45 minutes before we were taken back to see the doctor. When we got into the room the Dr. explained that they no longer accepted our insurance, but he could still see us and would have the billing department help complete the forms to be reimbursed.
After the appointment the Dr. and employee explained how to get reimbursement and I paid our bill in full out of pocket. It’s now seven months later and they have sent each member of the family a bill for an additional $ 9.75.
I called the billing office and the person was very rude and would not listen to me and only kept saying our insurance didn’t pay the full amount. Our insurance didn’t pay anything, I paid the bill out of pocket! I asked to speak with the Dr. about the bill when she said the Dr. doesn’t speak to people about billing and hung up on me.

I highly recommend both Dr. Herzog and Dr Ryan. The staff here, including the ladies in optical, are very friendly and helpful. My entire family are patients here and I have referred numerous friends and coworkers. I have never had nor heard of anything but extremely positive experiences. I have been thanked numerous times by those I have referred.

My family has been seeing Dr. Hertzog for many years now and have never had better care. Dr. Hertzog did my Lasik and has performed eye surgery on my son. The office people have always been friendly and helpful. Dr. Ryan is always very helpful in answering our questions regarding glasses. I always feel I have had a very thorough eye exam every time I’ve been in. No one has ever pressured us to get our glasses at their shop, in fact when we had a different optical insurance than the one their office accepts, they were very helpful in finding a place close by that could make our glasses with that insurance. I have broken my glasses and just dropped in on my lunch hour and they’ve fixed them without any hassle. We will continue to be customers here for as long as we’re in the area.

I’m new to the area and needed a new ophthalmologist. I found Hertzog online and decided to give them a try. I cannot overstate how great a place this is — the staff from the front desk, the doctors, and the optical shop are so incredibly nice and very professional. On top of that, I find their fees very reasonable, particularly considering you are getting assistance from physicians, not just opticians.
For as long as I live in this area, I am not just a fan, but a loyal customer. In fact, I would be willing to drive a distance to keep coming here.

I give the doctor for his knowledge of cataract surgery more stars than 2, however, the business side, the wait time, how he treats his patients I have to give him a 2-​. Lets start with the business side. The new building has a giant front window that is quite uncomfortable to people who are light sensitive or any eye surgery. When you first walk in you are not greeted by the front office staff, in fact each time that I have had to talk first. When you are called back, you are then directed to a labyrinth of rooms. The first room you get a general eye test, then off to another room where the conduct the refraction, then to another room that either you will see the optometrist or another waiting room to see Dr. Hertzog. And you wait and wait and wait in that waiting room. The front lobby is very deceiving because they do get you back pretty quick but this waiting room is really ridiculous. Hopefully Dr. Hertzog has not fit in between patients a sales rep because then your wait time goes on and on. As I started this review, I do think Dr. Hertzog is a good eye surgeon, what I really find fault is the business side of his office. Oh and guess what? If you need to pay they don’t take a credit card payment over the phone, you have to mail a check or pay in person. Can’t imagine an office in this day and age that doesn’t want your money as quickly as possible. The only reason I can think for this is the cost!

I love this place. I was referred to this office by my previous optometrist who had diagnosed me with glaucoma. Dr. Hertzog did his evaluation and cleared my fears. I love how dedicated he is with his patients. The new offices are awesome and the front desk staff might not be hugs and kisses when you walk in, but they are very professional and helpful. I love their selection of glasses and the staff goes out of her way to find something that you will love, that will match your style and that can fit within your budget.

Staff in front don’t acknowledge you’re even there. Then after six months of trying, could not get contacts that fit. Then they started charging me for visits. Bottom line $ 690 down the drain and no contact lenses.

The new building is great and the staff is really nice. My Optometrist Darcy Ryan was really nice and helpful especially when I told him eye doctors and putting stuff in my eye terrifies me. Everyone there was relatable and kind and I loved the glasses shop they have in the office. Many selections to choose from! Although its kind of on a weird corner, the overall facilities are really nice and the doctors are nice as well. I’m definitely coming back ! =)

This office was wonderful. I woke up to pain in both my eyes and one eye was completely closed shut. I was in a panic and called all eye specialists in the area to see if they had an opening. Hertzog’s staff understood my concern, they fit me into the schedule right away, and I was seen within minutes of arriving at the office. Dr. Ryan was very kind and explained the infection and the treatment very clearly. He also provided me with samples for dry eye which was something he had noticed during his examination of the infection. I felt that the entire staff that I spoke to (from the phone call to make the appointment all the way to the payment of my bill) were kind and knowledgeable. Even the receptionist answered some additional questions I had about the prescription the doctor had written.
I have just one complaint. Dr. Ryan had invited me to return for an eye exam and to purchase my contacts or glasses. When I told him which eye insurance I currently have, he notified me that they do not accept that vision insurance at the office. It would have been fine except I felt that he kept trying to convince me to use their office despite the fact that it was obviously not in my best interest to go to a provider that would not be covered by my plan. I know as a new office they may be trying to obtain a solid patient list, but if its not best for the patient I don’t think they should push it.
I will definitely make this office my primary eye care specialist for any medical needs I have in the future. It is unfortunate that they will not work out for the yearly eye exams.

I recently has my vision checked and then purchased new glasses and frames. Everything was done well, timely and I am very pleased with my new glasses and the excellent care from the staff. An added bonus are the beautiful new offices, which makes the whole experience that much nicer.

I went to this office looking for a new pair of frames. The staff was so helpful and friendly and didn’t mind at all when I tried on dozens of pairs. They also gave good feedback on which pairs looked nice. Two thumbs up!

Dr. Hertzgo is a good doctor, and a skilled surgeon. He’s done my regular eye exams for years, and has taken care of my dad’s eyes, for years… and my dad has very complicated eye issues, including an injury, cataracts, and glaucoma.
The thing that bugs me about this place, is they are always selling something. They really pressure you to get your glasses and contacts from the place that is inside the doctors office, but the frames are super expensive. You have to pull teeth to get them to just give you the prescription so you can take it to costco like a normal person.
I had lasik eye surgery (not here, elsewhere) years ago, and my vision is better than ²⁰⁄₂₀ in both eyes, and they tried to tell me I should get glasses to sharpen things up, ‘like at night, when you drive and stuff’
That part is annoying, but he is a good doctor.
