The grilled salmon plate cajun style is really good!!! I would highly recommend it if you are in the LBC area to visit. :)

Love this place! Wish it was at a better location that’s about it. The décor inside is awesome, it has a really nice Long Beach theme. The shrimp has the perfect flavor! It’s hard to find places with just the right amount of kick and spice but this place has it. Also the staff is really nice.

Long Beach Po’boy … can’t beat it, can’t find anything in comparison

Ordered pick up through Unilocal with my coworkers on 3.18.2016.
Food was ready when we picked it up. Service was fast.
I ordered the tilapia plate with brown rice and grilled zucchini for 7.99. And also with the lemon sauce. The food tasted great. It was fresh. Nothing to complain.
Will order a different thing next time.

Best shrimp po boy in California! Fresh bread and lots of shrimp. The special sauce is quite good as well except too much seasoning? I like hot Sauce. Not sure of the seasoning?
Nothing fancy inside but great fried shrimp! I’ll be back! I’m from New Orleans so… I know a great po boy sandwich! They don’t call me the ragin Cajun for nothing! Bön appetite!

Bag o shrimp was delicious but a little too spicy for me. Fish n chips were a little disappointing because the fish was on the dry side. Overall food came out fast and the meal was decent. Service was good. Also there is no public restrooms.

From the themed décor to the great portions and quality of food, this place earned my business. I can’t wait to return. The restaurant is very clean and my salmon plate came out quick. I’m very impressed with my new discovery of Huukm fish grill

I would never have thought about this place without Unilocal — I drive by it all the time, but given the neighborhood, I assumed it was some cheapo crummy fish place. Anything but! Unilocal was right, this place is super legit — if you want fried fish (of any number of different varieties), or a fantastic shrimp and/​or oyster sandwich, you should totally check this place out. Prices are quite reasonable, too, given how expensive fish has gotten recently.
Next time I’d call ahead, though, now that I’ve verified that their menu online *does* match up with their actual menu, and figured out what everything means — it doesn’t take *forever*, but they are definitely cooking your food fresh to order, so it’s not quite fast food, either (but does taste way fresher for it).

Checked out this spot after getting dropped off at the Grey hound station! Choose the place because of how close it was and based off the selection in the area, I’m happy we came here.
Not sure about many but seafood doesn’t come to mind when traveling through the streets of long beach. But whatever the reason these people dreamt it and it works!
I got the «long beach boulevard».
It’s a Shrimp po boy with coleslaw and mayonnaise.
— the thing that should pop out is the size of this sandwich. It’s MASSIVE! You definitely don’t feel like you’re getting jipped! Plenty of shrimp on s French banquette.
To get it out there, I haven’t had a po boy ever. And after this visit I wasn’t left with an empty hole wondering what coulda been but instead an uplifting of what to expect. I’m sure they’ll be better places out here but they for sure they didn’t disappoint in my first experience with a «po boy».
Wouldn’t be somewhere I would drive out of the way but definitely is a place to stop by if I’m in he area!

So, I was in the mood for some deep fried oysters and I read about Huuk’m Fish & Grill and off we went to try some of their cuisine. The order by the counter restaurant is very small but is new and modernly decorated. We were warmly welcomed by the server who explained every part of the menu … very sweet. But I already knew what I wanted and hubby and I ordered the following for lunch:
(1) Queen Mary
Battered Oysters served over large french baguette with fresh coleslaw, tomatoes, red onions & homemade spread. The server asked me if I wanted my oysters medium or well done … very nice because I don’t like a dried out oyster. I ordered my oysters medium and they were perfectly cooked. My sandwich was a footlong served with at least 10 oysters which were delicious and served in a warm soft bun with tomatoes, coleslaw and red onions. I was in total HEAVAN. Next time, I’ll ask to serve my delicate oysters to be served on the side of the bun and the other sides which my server initially asked if I wanted. You have to order this … totally delicious!
(2) Catfish Sandwich
Hubby initially wanted the salmon but they ran out. He said his sandwich was just ok… I had a taste and I agreed. Just «OK»… nothing very special.
(3) Seasoned French Fries
The seasoned french fries were kinda on the thick side and were just «ok» … nothing special. Next time, I will try the calamari in lieu of the fries.
I loved my po boy oysters sandwich. Everything else was just ok. Huuk’m Fish & Grill offers a WONDERFUL po boy oysters sandwich with wonderful service and I’m a fan! 4 Stars!

Really good fish. I was suprised it was above average. The fish I ordered was Cajun style talapia and it was delicious.
I also ordered the clam chowder, and it was pretty good. I do think it could be little thicker, other than that this is a really good place.

All I have to say is that I love this place. From the frist day I tried it, leading up to now I can’t get enough. The staff and owners are very polite and professional. There have been times when I went to go buy food and the owners were there, they ate the nicest people I know. One time they let me try obese of there new items and shared it with me and the second time they let me try there soup which is amazing and delicious. I wish they were in a better location with lots of traffic because there food is really good. My favorite is the Hukum plate because you get a little of EVERYTHING, and its on the healthier side and do not let me get on the sauces OMG… I really can eat at this place everyday, matter of fact Im going after the gym… My fav seasoned is the Cajun on with mahi mahi or tilapia. If you haven’t tried this place your missing out big time.

Not in the most welcoming neighborhood in Long Beach, but the friendly staff definitely makes up it. The restaurant isn’t too large, but their wall decorations offer a great overview of the landmarks in Long Beach.
Their menu has a good selection ranging from items of various grilled/​fried fish plates to numerous shrimp dishes and even burgers. They serve up a good amount of food without outrageous pricing. Food was cooked well and tastes great besides the Cajun seasoning on my grilled fish plate that was too salty for me.

Earlier in the week we dined at a restaurant next to the owner of this place and he kindly invited us to try out the food since my husband and I was asking what’s a good seafood place in Long Beach because we just came back from a horrible experience from The Reef.
We’ve been back here 3 times and I must admit I like the energy and service the night crew had. The cashier was a young sweet girl and I believe the cook was the owner’s brother. We had ordered their garlic bread, fries, mahi mahi plate and I had the LB Blvd Po Boy. OMG, so yummy. I’m glad the girl asked if I wanted a 6 inch or a footlong because I can barely finish the 6 inch. It was packed. I’ve spent nearly $ 25 on something like this at Disneyland earlier in the week and it was horrible.
The second time we went during lunch time, we brought my brother and father there but the day staff had a different energy to say the least. My father said his red snapper was overcooked but we all enjoyed our mahi mahi, tilapia and I again ordered that shrimp po boy.
The area was eerie but if I was feeling for seafood and was near the exit, I’d drob by.

First visit, got the calamari w garlic toast. SO delicious. Small but great atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back and try the bag o shrimp! :)
My boyfriend ordered the salmon sandwich and he claims «it was DANK» lol he loved it and he’s a huge seafood fan.

I came in close to closing time for lunch. No one was here and the neighborhood was kinda eery but they had good reviews and I was working nearby. And I love seafood! I ordered the shrimp tacos. One grilled and one fried. I ordered two cause I’m used to small tacos but these are a great size! I actually just ate the grilled taco which was delicious! I took the fried to go but I tried a fried shrimp to taste. Still yummy!
I’m going to try the bag o shrimp that everyone keeps raving about. I give it a 5 because the lady behind the counter was nice, the place was clean, the food was good, and the price was great. I would definitely come back. Fo sho!

Fantastic service! The staff was so friendly here. They gave us free chips n salsa and samples of garlic toast.
The fries were cooked perfectly, and tasted a little sweet. The fish had a great golden brown crust and was very filling. They gave me four pieces of fish!

The only reason this visit gets 2 stars is due to good customer service — the girl up front is awesome. I’ve had inconsistent service with respect to the food. Their Grilled Tilapia plate was tasty (3 stars) but too well done. Their whole fried snapper (4 stars) was really, really good.
But OMG, one day I ordered the Grilled Halibut plate and it was soooo overcooked. Any grilled fish, IMO, I should be able to take the side of my fork and press down on the fish with normal force, and the fish should break apart. Didn’t happen. I had to use a knife and fork to cut my fish. It was rubbery and inedible. The rating is certainly not to be cruel but you can’t serve any fish that way, especially an expensive fish like Halibut. It was not a good experience because my money was wasted.
