CLOSED! D’oh! According to the Signal Hill location, the franchise owner called everyone in sometime in August and told them they were closing their doors. All the furnishings are still there, but the outdoor sign is down(and sitting inside). Very mysterious, but one of the orphaned employees is now working at the Signal Hill place.

Outlets: More than Starbucks. Music: Not as load as Starbucks. Clean: Starbucks is cleaner. Bathroom: Cleaner than Starbucks. Service: Better than Starbucks. Health/Food Grade: I didn’t notice an A, B or C. Just sign saying employees need to practice better food/sanitation handling. Something to that effect. Employees: They talk equally as loud as Starbucks employees. Wi-Fi: Better than Starbucks.

I love this It’s a Grind! Every time I have gone there they have always gotten my order right. It’s a lovely atmosphere to study and friendly service. Last time I went, the barista ZIni made me the BEST iced white chocolate mocha :) I am very picky about that drink and she definitely made my day! They also make really good blended Pumpkin drink. Lovin this place! Definitely a GREAT It’s a Grind to go to :)

Pumpkin Latte was decent. Pecan addition was unwelcome. Glad they offered to fix the drink. Too sweet. Nice atmosphere. Seems to have a few students and teachers sort of hanging out, sitting on comfy chairs, focused on their computers/books. Took the three seat corner near the front door. Very squishy chairs. Loved the seating, but the music was a little loud.

I think this place is great. There is a friendly atmosphere. The staff, although friendly, are not very excitable. I feel like every time I come here, they are screwing something up. It is not my stuff always, but something. Last time I was there, the barista asked if we wanted whipped cream. My wife did not care, but thought sure. When they brought the drink out, there was not whipped cream. Not a deal breaker, but a little annoying. I am sure if we would have asked they would have apologized and fixed it, but they should just get it right. One time I ordered a bagel from them. They asked if I wanted it toasted. I said sure and they burned it. I mean it was black. They scraped off the black and tried to serve it to me. It tasted burned and they toasted me a new one. Again, not a big deal, but they should be able to toast. I like this place because the staff are friendly and they try hard and it is close. If any one of those things changed, I would not come back.

I love my coffee! Despite the fact that I have tried to wean myself from my dependence on coffee, I can’t say no to the coffee just calling my name. The baristas here know how I love my coffee … iced and sweet! MmmMmm. Sorry, I am not a black coffee drinker, never will be. First time they made me a Iced White Mocha with toffee shots(custom drink made just for me), I was in love. It helps that the baristas here are really friendly. However, I guess I could be a little bias, I’m friends with a couple of them. Like many coffee places, this one has got food too. I’ve tried a breakfast bagel here a couple times, and that was pretty decent. And if the food here doesn’t suffice, the location of this place is great … there’s plenty of places to eat close by. It also seems like a good place to sit, study, work, and/or catch up with an friend. They’ve got seating outside and inside. It’s a Grind. Thanks for feeding my coffee addiction.

Great friendly staff. Always helpful and cheerful. Generally enjoy an iced chai latte and one of their new aussie pies.
