Really good. Really Fast. Very happy with my order. Not greasy — Not oily like a lot of other Chinese places. They don’t over-salt everything and they give you the soy sauce packets so you can season to taste. Very generous portions. Even the Steamed Rice was perfect. I ate half the container just by itself — perfect texture. Lots of Shrimp & Meat in the House Fried Rice and Egg Foo Yung. Broccoli & Chicken order filled the whole box. The Delivery was Fast — everything was Expertly Packaged — they are PROS. I put the Photo in my Profile Photo — can’t remember how to Add a Photo to my Review! Thank you!

Legit. Professional, no none sense, real shrimp, flavorful and convenient. Everything you ever needed in a RESTAURANT(who happen to serve Chinese food). They use real shrimp here, they’re massive. I really enjoy the quick service and the tasty dishes. My favorites are anything with their shrimp. Easy access parking and can’t get over how professional the manager is!

Wow! I ordered off the Unilocal site for delivery and it was at my door in less than 30 mins, I was quoted 45 – 60. First off piping hot… the care that goes into wrapping the to go containers with Saran Wrap to help keep the heat in sure works! I got Sesame Chicken and Chicken Chow Mein. The portions were so generous and the Chow Mein was a combo so it also came with rice, soup and veggie egg rolls! There is a $ 15 minimum for delivery which is fair and no additional charge for delivery! With a 20% tip it was around $ 20! We have lots left over so it basically two meals! Highly recommend!!!

Refused to deliver to my daughter’s school… too bad for them, Rogers Middle School is a missed opportunity when it comes to lunch orders!

Wooooooow!!! ½ order orange chicken, ½ order beef and broccoli, honey walnut shrimp, 8 egg rolls, full order veggie chow mein, and an extra side of rice came out to $ 42. My friend and I were hoping we had order enough food for our family style meal… when we got our bag it felt like 5lbs! The nice cashier also gave us a complimentary 2 liter soda. The food was fresh, hot, and the flavors were spot on! Honey walnut shrimp was a huge hit! With our order we fed 4 adults(2 men 2 women) and 3 kids(boys) and still had leftovers!!! Talk about bang for your buck this place is it, with quality flavor and friendly service too :)

I usually order from Yummy Garden but I decided to branch out and try somewhere new one night. Oh Boy I made a mistake I did not like it all. What’s the point of huge portions if you don’t want it. There was no flavor in the chow mien at all. I will never wander from my favorite place again. People were nice and delivery was fast but food not so much.

My first quick Chinese here in Cali. NODUCKSAUCE??? I’m such a sauce girl so this hurt my heart. Only soy(OK) and saracha sauce(weird for a NY). & she made a point to say ONLY one. Anyways, Fried chicken wings weren’t too good. They tasted old like they were re-fried. Not much flavor either. They are also only ONE piece, in NY you get a wing & drumstick together which is considered one. Shrimp fried rice was pretty, decent amount of shrimp and a big portion. Would have been excellent with duck sauce. I will say when I was taking out the food to give to my co workers, it was everywhere. They had it rapped in saran wrap but it didn’t help. Also the lady on the phone said seventy five — ninety mins. But it took like twenty. Everyone classifies this as cheap Chinese but that’s compared to Cali BC besides the lunch special, pretty pricey.

JJ’s takeout is a religious experience. No matter what I’ve ordered from them, it’s always been delivered piping hot and incredibly well-packaged… and DELICIOUS! The food is totally affordable, and the portions are huge– it’s a great big bang for your buck, plus sometimes you get free things with your order(last time I got a free 2L Coke). I can’t recommend JJ enough. I’ve been ordering delivery from them for over a year, and they’re always going to be my go-to for yummy Chinese takeout.

Nothing rave about with this place, they used to have lunch combos out for easy access, but when I went nothing was displayed. Everything was made to order, but they were still fast about it. Cream Cheese wonton is always good. I would say stay away from their honey walnut shrimp, wasn’t that good.

It wasn’t a huge hit but it definitely wasn’t a miss. We walked in and ordered for to-go, it was our first time trying JJ’s and it will not be our last. It was dead inside but the lady behind the glass was preparing a dozen delivery orders so it looked promising. Cashew chicken, dinner portion, side of small steamed rice included. We ordered an extra small rice, and it definitely was more than enough. The cashew chicken sauce was a little bland, it was definitely missing something. The chicken and all the vegetables were cooked well, very good overall. Vegetable egg rolls(2 pieces) were crunchy, not overly greasy, and the sauce was on point. BBQ pork buns! Small 3 buns for $ 5(–___-«) and it was a bit more an the tangy side than I’d personally like. But nonetheless it was delicious and it was our favorite part of the meal. All that for less than $ 20, worth it.

This place is a hole in the wall with some of the best Chinese food for the price. The place is slow on delivery but if you go in and wait, the food comes out at a reasonable pace on a busy night. They get very busy with delivery orders, even with 2 drivers. The food is non MSG and is decent quality. Service is fine, nothing amazing but they are on top of getting the food out and to you. I would go here over Pei Wei or PF Changs anyday. They are also good about substituting pork fried rice for veggie fried rice. It cost a dollar but its worth it. I recommend the General Tso chicken and the Spicy Eggplant.

Gave them one more chance… why, why, why. Threw the hot and sour soup away… smelled so bad. Threw the fried rice away, tasted old and funky. Orange chicken… barely could get through 4 pieces and just grossed out. The wontons were fine as were the veggie rolls… Will not be ordering here again.

Love this place! Just the way they package the food for delivery is phenomenal. Not a drop is spilled anywhere. The food is exceptional for being fast food. The mushrooms are never overcooked, shrimp is nice & tender, the overall flavors are great. They don’t skimp on the shrimp. I only order half or small orders; the portions are still huge. Shrimp in lobster sauce is in a reusable plastic container as well as the wonton soup. Shrimp lomein is perfect the next day. My fav is the cream cheese wonton. So flavorful! I’ve only had shrimp dishes so far, except for 1 pork dish I didn’t care for. The pork was a little dry & tough. I’ll be trying the beef dishes soon. I didn’t know where this place was when I first started ordering from them. They are a small hole-in the wall place behind El Pollo Loco on Anaheim just east of Redondo. Love this place.

Ordered delivery the other night and it was great! The wait time ended up only being about 40 mins(we were quoted 60, so woohoo for fast delivery!) The food was all hot and fresh. They wrap the styrofoam containers with plastic to prevent the contents from leaking. Brilliant! Orange chicken, Mongolian beef, chow fun, and chow mein – delicious, not overly seasoned, not overly sauced, and very generous portions! We’ll definitely be ordering from them soon :)

We have been looking for some good cheap chinese food in Long Beach for a long time and finally found a place to call our go-to chinese food. We order the same thing every time and have never been disappointed. Love their beef chow fun and honey walnut shrimp! Big portions, fresh, good amount of sauce to smother over your rice. Never had any trouble ordering for what others call the rude lady who takes the orders. It’s a language barrier people, not everyone speaks perfect english. In reality, chinese food seems to taste way better when there are actual chinese people working at the restaurant. IMO.

I’ll say this: it’s the best Chinese delivery I’ve found in LB so far. We live in the Bluff Park /Heights area … shocking that there’s no really good Chinese here in the hood. Veggies are bountiful for vegan and vegetarian dishes and the food is pretty tasty. This is my go-to choice for Chinese(having tried way too many).

Not everything we had here was the greatest(don’t get the walnut shrimp), but I really like their orange chicken and dinner combos. It comes with their house fried rice, your entrée meat, a cup of soup, 2 cream cheese won tons(SO good), and of course a fortune cookie for less than $ 9 Free delivery and they’re fast!

This place demands that all customers in the restaurant meticulously follow the strict queuing when ordering and payment policy. Failure to adhere to the demands brings the stern admonition(«No Chinese For You»), whereupon the customer is upset and walks out. It’s hard to find good Chinese food in this area. Please note that Panda Express and Pick up Stix does not count. Yes, they are convenient and sometimes they can mask the Asian flavors but that’s about all. JJ Chinese Express is a small family owned business which caters to residents looking for good food without breaking the bank. The restaurant is located on a very busy street and in a very busy shopping center. This place is quite small with about six tables filling the entire restaurant besides the kitchen. The menu board is a little confusing when it comes to what can be ordered during business hours; I still don’t know when you are allowed to order the lunch and dinner combos. To play it safe and not get an EVIL look, I just order à la carte. The chicken, beef, pork, and seafood dinners all come with a side of white rice. I am not a fan of white rice so I always order vegetable or shrimp chow mein on the side. Most dinners come in half or full portions so there is plenty to share and there are always leftovers. I am not sure if the characteristics of this place is Hunan, Cantonese, or Sichuan. However, the food is good! The service at JJ Chinese Express can be hit or miss. I’m not sure if this is a cultural or language issue. I have noticed that the lady who usually works on weekends can be a little rude, standoffish and annoyed at the same time. If this makes you uncomfortable and you really want to try this restaurant, just follow the episode guidelines of the 1995 sitcom: Seinfeld — Season 7, Episode 6 — The Soup Nazi. So far, this is my go-to place for Chinese in Long Beach. If you can just get over the service and maybe order online, it’s worth a try. Side Note: You can order your food for delivery via the Eat24 app or website. Also, when you spend $ 30 or more, you will receive a free 2-liter bottle of soda.

Another Unilocal let-down. Needed to order something quick so I Unilocaled this place up. It was conveniently located near my school so I figured why not? I only had 15 minutes to get to class on time. I ordered the orange chicken lunch special which came with fried rice, egg roll and a cup of soup for $ 6. Deal right? Nah. The orange chicken was soggy. It was like biting into a chunk of mush– yuck. The fried rice had no flavor at all, even soy sauce couldn’t save it. The cup of soup was actually pretty big but when I opened it it looked so watery. I took a sniff of it and it did not smell pleasant at all. The only good thing about the meal was the egg roll. But even then I couldn’t eat the whole roll. I ended up throwing away my food after maybe 3 bites. :( Never again.

For those reading, this by far crawls beneath the radar of being gourmet Chinese food. I mean, it’s called«JJ Chinese Express» for crying out loud. This is truly the type of place that you go to when you’re famished… and on a budget. By no means is this going to be a fu fu candlelit experience that you’re going to enjoy wine or cocktail pairings with and cherish for a lifetime. This is more so your, «Modern Family» or «Blackish» is coming on tonight, let me feed these dayum kids and put their behinds to bed real quick” type of spot…“ If you’re in search of an elegant, anniversary type of ordeal, try Unilocaling«PF Changs»… I’ve reviewed them too. While I’ve never been to the actual location, I value the fact that they deliver for FREE within three miles and for a buck or two up to five miles. That just about covers the entire city of Long Beach, if you think about it. To add to it, they provide a free 2 liter bottle of soda or tea for patrons spending in excess of $ 30. It may sound impossible but things have a quick way of adding up. I tend to order the orange chicken or shrimp with Mongolian beef on occasion and the Hot/sour soup as well. The food tends to arrive semi-expeditiously depending on time of day and is enough to last for a few days. I can’t necessarily attest to having found anything to be downright bland thus far, but I do always request they add additional seasoning and try to spice things up to the way they’d typically make it for themselves. The place, itself, must warrant service in multitudes as the lady on the phone always seems to be completely rushed! She could benefit highly from a lesson or two by way of Rosetta Stone as well as «Intro To Customer Service». Neither seem to come across as being her strong points. She and I have reached a mutual understanding however. «Bytch don’t rush me when placing my phone order and DONOTPLACEMYBEHINDONHOLD!!!» In return, I will greet and tip your delivery driver. With his fate resting in her soy sauce covered hands, we effortlessly see eye to eye.
