This was the first time I went and it was a great visit. The restaurant was filled with people and there was a small wait but it was definitely worth it. I got the beef brisket sandwich with garlic mashed potatoes. The meal comes with complementary biscuits. There were 3 different types of barbecue sauces on the table and I chose the original. My sandwich with the barbecue sauce was so good. The beef was so tender and tasty while the mashed potatoes were fluffy and neat. You can tell they put much effort into their food as I wanted to order more food from the menu after eating my sandwich

We got here at 7:45, weren’t seated till 9:30. We ordered our food, half the party got their food, they forgot about the second half of the party when we asked about the food, they said they ran out of food. Smh! Food was so, so, salty mashed potato.

Love Lucilles LB TownCenter. Food is alway great(fried pickles, fried green tomatoes, beef brisket, fried chicken Breast, gumbo)(I actually think we’ve tried almost everything on the menu) sometimes the sweet tea will need a tad more sugar but still yummy. And it always helps when you have an awesome server who is on their A game! Thank you Lindsey. We will be asking for her from now on!

So here we go!!! The bbq was good. The cake was OK… kinda of dry but more like whatever ! The service wasn’t good at all. He never asked me if I wanted a refill not once. I had to asked about three times just to get one refill. Twice with Jonathan and once with another server. He had all his attention with the other two tables that got there after us. He didn’t really seem to care about us. He didn’t even give us napkins with the cake. We called him and he just kept walking but the girl in front saw and she asked us what we needed and gave us the napkins. So there you go you give me bad service and I give you no damn tip. But not like you care anyways right!!!

After sending my food back and getting sliders, I was still disappointed because the corn was undercooked. I swear I’m confused as to why this restaurant can command these prices and the food portions and end results in tastes needs to be fixed. I gave 3 stars because the waiter was so great.

Mehhhhh. I’ve never liked Lucille’s or anything BBQ flavored, but my brother loves it so we go there every year for his birthday. I’ve yet to find something that I like here. I just don’t like the BBQ flavor, and that seems to be the only thing they’re good at. Since I don’t like that, I get other things on the menu. Most recently I got a caesar salad, which tasted nothing like caesar. It was super tart and overall, not good. My mom got the BBQ chicken salad and she didn’t like it either. Our service was good. I don’t remember our server’s name but he did a good job at serving our larger sized party. They also have a good bar and make pretty strong drinks! I’m sure if you like BBQ, this is your thing. I know a lot of people who like it but if you’re pretty indifferent about that type of food, you probably won’t like it.

First time to Lucille’s was a bust. We never got in because of the crowd and poor parking. That was on a Sunday afternoon a couple weeks ago. So today, we tried again for lunch on the way home from Hollywood. No problem finding a parking spot and we were immediately seated on the porch facing the Roadhouse. First impressions always helps me get the feel of a place. Well, the background music was early blues and sometimes a bit too loud. Pictures and markings on the wall and the darkened ornamented lounge gave it that special New Orleans feeling. The wait for the food we ordered was reasonable. We ordered the lunch specials that included ribs, chicken and tri tip or brisket or burnt ends… I think it was called the BBQ platter for $ 17.99. The drinks come In huge Mason Jars and really no need to get a refill. However, our server was Nadia, and she prepared my ice tea to go after we had settled our bill. She was friendly, attentive and had the answers for the questions we asked. The hockey puck sized biscuits were sweet and a good starter while you wait. Cole slaw was a choice we ordered and it was standard and as expected. My St Luis Ribs were badly overdone. scored and almost crispy, I took them home. I fully enjoyed the chicken breast which was sweetened with a sugary molasses coating and the soft white meat was moist. The burnt ends I had were burnt, but with lots of BBQ sauce mixed in it was chewy and edible. My lovely partner had tri tip and brisket and baby back ribs. She said they had good taste, but she packed most of her meal to go. We asked for wipes and our server apologized for the delay and came back with two moistened and temperature hot towels. Perfect to get all the sweet sticky BBQ sauces off your fingers. Was this a stellar BBQ experience for us? The answer is not really, we’ve had as good at another ’ famous’ place. Would we come back to Lucille’s? We would most likely return, but not on a Sunday afternoon, to try other offerings on their menu.

Love this place! This is where me and my boyfriend would always go whenever we crave for some bbq, sweet tea and our all time fave, bbq potato chips! My only suggestion is maybe they could swap any/both sides for a salad. 4 stars not because the food is bad, but because it’s actually pricey. But in their defense, you get what you pay for — good, yummy bbq :)

Lucille’s is certainly not my favorite BBQ of all time, but today(4÷10÷16) the service knocked it out of the park. PARKING Free shared lot. Crowded on Sunday at lunch. SERVICE Wait time = less than 2 minutes. We arrived around 1 p.m. It was busy. Our waitresses(because the original left for her break) were outstanding. All of the employees made eye contact with me and smiled. Rarely does that happen. FOOD — Strawberry lemonade($ 4.99). Dang that’s expensive. I’d probably order it again since I don’t care for sodas and I don’t usually drink alcohol with my kids around. — Original pulled pork sandwich($ 12.49). So the bottom bun was split into two pieces when I received it. Not sure how that happened. The meat was fine. A little bland, so I recommend the Memphis style BBQ sauce with this sandwich particularly if you order watermelon as your side. — I tried my hubby’s tri-tip. I have had it before at a different location and enjoyed it. — still not a fan of their biscuits and butter, but everyone else in my family is… BABY/KID-FRIENDLINESS — The women’s handicap stall has a baby-changing station. The restrooms just need a real nice deep cleaning, but otherwise they were not trashy and were well-stocked. — High-chairs are available. Like just about anywhere else, the seat belts(which are useless for my escape artist children) were broken and the actual seats weren’t that clean. — The kids menu is great. The rib plate was $ 8.49 and we ordered the shoestring fries for the side. We also ordered the mac & cheese plate($ 5.99) with carrot sticks and Ranch dressing. OVERALL I appreciated the service thoroughly, but most importantly the food for the most part was served hot and(almost) all at once. The mac & cheese plate came out a minute or so after everything else. I’m sure we’ll be back. | Food: 4 | Service: 5 | Environment: 4 | Price: 3 | ***I am finally stealing this idea from my Unilocal buddy Ruth T. From a statistical perspective(I love numbers), this is a very quick and useful way to critique your experience.*** Review #461 ’16 Challenge #26

When the only location for Lucille’s we knew of was in Belmont Shore, you never went there for ribs because they were dried out and just not as good as, for example, Johnny Reb’s. Their cheeseburger, though, was a really wonderful sandwich and worth the trip there any time. They closed that one, or moved it to the old Hof’s Hut location near Long Beach Marina. Haven’t tried it. But the enormous newer location in the Town Center Mall is really worth a stop. Their food can only be described as improved. A fried chicken sandwich, tender and delicious; a brave attempt at gumbo that came off quite well. Still not up to some of the Los Angeles offerings such as Harold and Belle’s, but quite tasty. And finally, their cheeseburger: really superior meat, properly handled so it doesn’t become pressed into a hockey puck, and wonderful cheddar. The design is perfect, with a lot of seating on the enclosed«porch» and some outdoor tables. Only problem was that they served food to two of us and then just forgot our daughter was there. The manager came over and offered her a salad while she waited(no idea what happened) but what should have happened was he should have comped the cheeseburger. We had to ask. Not right. But we will be back there again, the food was well worth it and the location very pleasant.

Features: –We had the fried shrimp as our appetizer and it was really delicious! It was irresistible like the menu says it is, coated in flour and bayou spices and of course, deep fried. It was served with spicy remoulade sauce and smoked jalapeño tartar sauce. The sauces were good, I saved them for my meats. –The baby back ribs were very tender and sweet. They are slow cooked with sweet hickory smoke and then grilled with Lucille’s special bbq sauce. We also had the fresh chicken which was juicy, marinated with their bbq sauce as well and slow smoked and grilled. I liked the chicken, it was soft, sweet, and good! The beef brisket was smoked to cook and it was served with a savory mop sauce. –We had a few sides: the sweet potato fries, mashed potatoes, and the cole slaw– all were okay, nothing too special. –The bread with apple butter was delicious and yummy! So tasty that I ate almost three breads! We took some to go, too! –Service was good, the manager came to check on us once to see if the food was delicious and got us warm towels. Improvement: –There were two instances where they brought food that were not ours to our table and we had to tell them that we did not order them. –Lots of tables but not enough servers. Tips: –Lots of parking since it is inside a shopping area. –The meats were delicious so make sure you save your stomach from all the scrumptious bread with apple butter! –Peach lemonade was refreshing!

The BBQ is consistently great ! Expect to wait on the weekends. They do take reservations so consider making one if you plan to go w a larger group. From the BBQ to yummy salads there’s really something for everyone here. Some personal favorites — the fried chicken, fried green tomatoes and tri tip salad! The service is top notch. I’ve only had one dessert here … The banana pudding served w vanilla wafers! So much deliciousness. Very happy Lucille’s is finally in our neighborhood!

I got the deep-fried catfish and shrimp meal. It came with French Fries and I ordered Mashed Potatoes on accident to replace the Cole Slaw. In hindsight I should have gotten something like Veggies to replace the Slaw. Not because the Mashed Potatoes weren’t delicious but because it was carbohydrate overload LOL. The shrimp were HUGE! The cornmeal breading was your traditional southern style that you would expect from a place like Lucille’s. The Catfish was really good and I would get it again although there is so much on their menu it was hard to make a decision. We ordered the appetizer of Fried Pickles and they were okay. Nothing to write home about but definitely not worth taking a star away as the quality of the food was excellent. My daughter got the loaded baked potato and man, I wish I had. They use thick cut bacon(read no «bits») real bacon, thick real bacon. And sour cream. Just thinking about this baked potato is making me want to revisit. The kids enjoyed the strawberry lemonade and I enjoyed the sweet tea. The mason jar glasses are unique and hold a lot of fluid LOL.

Lucille’s BBQ, is good, but we have had better. When we were there we ordered the gumbo, which was heavily advertised by the staff as great, but let me tell you not to waste your money. The rice was gross, and the gumbo itself was nasty. The fried catfish and shrimp combo was heavily breaded but surprisingly good. The staff appeared to be overwhelmed with guest and could not even be bothered with refilling our drinks. The complimentary basket of bread was good, but that’s all that we liked.

I like this place. This specific location gives a southern vibe which is a place that most southern people would eat at. The ribs are alright, but their half chicken is pretty good. The biscuits and apple butter are killer. All of this with a good beer will set the night off. Prepare for a decent wait, but for good food I don’t care about waiting. If you hate waiting then this isn’t the place for you. I come from the south and I’m all for some BBQ. This isn’t southern, but it’s as close at it will get to it.

This is my first time at a Lucille’s Smokehouse, so I had nothing to compare to until now. My first impression was that it’s a fun place with a full bar and front porch for summer dinning. As it is winter, we opted for inside the restaurant and had lunch, which is cheaper and faster usually. Well, something I did not expect was that service is excellent at this restaurant, and the servers were very accommodating. The food is good, but not as flavorful as some of the other smokehouse type restaurants, such as Phil’s or Bludsoes. However, the service here is incredible, so a mark up for service, which was better than the food. I hear the beef ribs are good, so I’ll try it for dinner the next time I’m at a Lucille’s.

Can you really go wrong with BBQ. we walked in and avoided the long wait by getting a seat at the bar. TV’s playing sports and TV’s are all around the room. My wife had the tri tip salad that she enjoyed and I had the baby back ribs with coleslaw and veggies. Ribs were great and cooked well. The meat would fall off the bone and the BBQ sauce was great. Coleslaw was nice and creamy and veggies nice and tender. My wife’s tri tip was cooked ok and was flavorful. When in the mood for BBQ try this place out.

Love Lucilles & their awesome baby back ribs but not really a fan of this location. Came on a week night… wasnt so busy so that may be the reason for my hard biscuits and watered down tasting iced tea. I ordered the fries with shredded pork on top… excellent. The ribs I got were pretty good but the sides tasted microwaved. The mash potatoes were room temperature cold. I sat at the bar and had no problem with the service. Our server was very nice and kept our drinks refilled. However, the bar smells like toilet… made me lose my appetite. I like lucilles but I’ll probably go to the cerritos location in the future.

What a great lunch here with my friends. We were seated inside at a large round table in the corner. Windows all around so a nice open feel. Our server Saul was wonderful, and friendly. If you were stomped on what to order he was quick to suggest something for you My dish was the Hot Links Sandwich. I was made nicely, everything was placed neatly in the sandwich and cut in half. The sandwich tasted delicious with the hot links. The spiciness was not unbearable. The only problem with the links, when I bit into it, the casing was hard to bite away at time. That did not stop me from finishing the entire sandwich. The fries that I ordered for my side was delicious, crunchy and not greasy. The place was very busy(Friday). I would surely return to the restaurant when in the area, or any of their other restaurants. Service — Excellent(Saul) My dish — Excellent(Hot Links Sandwich with fries) Atmosphere — Excellent(nice décor, clean bathrooms) Price — Affordable
