Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Long Beach

Hot water found on floor of bathroom at 9:45PM Jan. 21,2016. Source could not be found inside of house. Called Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Long Beach. Phone answered immediately ask if someone should be sent out. I requested they wait to the first thing in the morning. However by morning the the water was about three inches deep in the bathroom and hall as I had forgot to shut off the water supply to the house. Mr Rooter called back about 7:45. and had Gary Riniert their Field Supervisor at the house by 8:15. After checking the walls and floor with his water meter believed the source was a broken hot water pipe under slab next to the bathroom/​hall wall. Gary prepared estimates for four different options from digging through floor and slab to reach and patch the broken pipe to replacing all under slab water lines by PEX pipe and all new shutoff valves throughout the house with the interconnections being routed in the ceiling. He also recommended PRC Restoration and Construction for the water removal and called them. Thanks to Gary they had their crew and equipment removing the water and damaged contents before noon.

AfterAfter four more days of PRC equipment drying out the house Gary ha a five plumbers installing new PEX pipes and valves in under one day. A plaster came the next day to patch and plaster the holes in the walls and ceiling left by the plumbers the day before. We now had running water within the house.
I very highly recommend Mr. Rooter and Gary their Field Supervisor for any plumbing job.

Spoke to the manager about my experience, he was very receptive and understanding and was very willing to rectify the situation. He definitely listened to what I had to say and was apologetic. This a a sign that this company cares about their customers and for that I am very appreciative.

I can always count on Mr. Rooter. They are a fast and reliable service. Their staff is always friendly and they do not charge too much for their excellent services either. I called around and it seemed like it was expensive with the other companies so, I went with these guys and boy am I happy I did! Thanks again and I highly recommend them.

Had a kitchen faucet that stopped working. Called Mr Rooter dispatch (very friendly and helpful) and a truck pull up in 60 minutes. Crew was very professional and friendly and did an excellent job. Would definitely call again.

I feel pretty great about the service we received. I never really like having to pay for repairs, but when your kitchen sink and garbage disposal is backed up and not working… you’ve got to fix the problem.
Mr Rooter came out, gave us a quote, and fixed the problem. We were thrilled to have it taken care of and would definitely recommend Mr Rooter to anyone.

Came out pretty quick on a Sunday. Took a little over 2 hours. That’s including going to the store and picking up parts. Josh was our guy and he was pretty straight forward except that he didn’t mention that when he was going to cut the hole in the wall that he had to hire someone else to patch it up. It wasn’t an issue. Everything was pretty clear. Would reccommend.

Andy came and did the initial call. Snaked the main and discovered some more problems. Upsold me on a water pressure clean and this is where the problems started… and I thought Andy was very professional. when Greg the manager shows up. Started the pressure clean and then says, «I can do it because of a partial collapse of your pipe… but you still need to pay for me time… Huh? He does not even come close to completing the job (he did not do any of the high pressure water clean at all) and expects me to pay for his time? At the end of the day, I still agreed to pay more than what the original quote was and this left a dirty taste in my mouth. Bait and switch?
I pay for results, not for effort. The main was snaked all the way to the sewer, and so it wasn’t my issue when the pressure machine couldn’t make it through… and I still need to pay for Greg’s effort? Please. Problem is… this is Greg’s business and if he wants to run it this way, watch out.
Everybody be cautious to the bait and switch and its even worse when I was switched to nothing. This was a very disappointing experience. There are many options out there –this should not be your first option.
Follow on amendment to the initial report. After receiving an estimate to do some work, I solicited bids from other plumbers to do the same. Other plumbers were far more professional and even did the assessment for free, which Mr. Rooter charged me $ 125 to do. The real kicker is Rooters quotation for the job was DOUBLE what the other plumbers quoted! Stay away!

I want to start by saying the technician that did my work was very professional and I have no complaints about him. My complaint is that I feel that I was overcharged for the service provided and the owner refuses to budge on the fee. I had a mainline cleanout installed in the front of my home 2 years ago because there is a recurrent problem with tree roots in my neighborhood. The root blockage was less than 10 feet from the cleanout and took the technician no more than 5 minutes with the correct snake but the cost was $ 300. (He did try for about 20 minutes with a piece of equipment that was too small to cut the roots) Boy do I feel ripped off. I will not use this company again. I have had other companies do the same cleanout from the back of the house (much more difficult) for half the price.

Professional, patient, and honest! I had a plumbing emergency when all our plumbing backed up in our «new», older home in Lakewood. I put in an appointment with my home insurance company AHS who sent another plumbing company right away; that plumber tried to snake the back up from every line, took my toilets off and flooded my bathrooms to no avail. To sum it up they didn’t fix the problem and said I needed to repipe my whole system which would cost $ 8 to $ 10k oop, not including my wood flooring they’d have to destroy to get to the pipe. My husband and I were devastated.
Luckily those ***** never followed up so I called Mr Rooter and Gary, the supervisor, said he would come the next day with a camera. He was very patient and explained that it could be multiple things, and to not jump to conclusions the other plumber had suggested, which was drastic. Andy and Gary came the next morning and sent a camera down finding the blockage. They showed me everything on the camera before and after and explained everything along the way. They hydro– jetted the blockage for $ 550, a fraction of what the other plumber was suggesting.
Their pricing is up front, and in a company ‘menu’ they carry around. They even re-​attached and cleaned the big mess the other plumber left behind. You get what you pay for, you could go to a less experienced, cheaper plumber but end up paying more in the long run. The other company never suggested hydro-​jetting, don’t think they even have the equipment for it. Also Mr Rooter was local, so Gary knew the layout and pipes of most of the houses and lines in my neighborhood. Super grateful I found them!
FYI: lots of great deals on AngiesList if you have it. That’s where I found the $ 99 camera deal.

I have called Mr Rooter on several occasions and have always had excellent service
Most recently, our tankless water heater went out on Thanksgiving and we opted to put in a new system instead of repairing a 10 year old system. I believe Kurt was our tech and Greg came out also. We had excellent service and will call them in the future should we have any plumbing problems

I’m a little confused as to how this company is run, but I made a call in to report a gas leak. The dispatcher told me that they would send out a technician to diagnose the issue then determine what repairs need to be made. When the technician came, he did NOT diagnose the issue. He simply gave me an estimate costing $ 583.32 to diagnose the issue!!!
So now tell me, what’s the point of sending out a technician and wasting your company resources when he didn’t diagnose the issue in the first place?
Update. Greg called and apologized and worked with me on the issue. I ended up going with another company, but at least he tried to rectify the mistake his team members made.

Great service, professional and reliable!
I had a sink drain clogged on a Sunday afternoon around 4:00 p.m. a couple of weeks ago. Not only were the kitchen sinks clogged, but water started coming out on the bar sink on the other side of my kitchen. I called the smell good plumbers first and they couldn’t send anybody. I called Mr. Rooter and I had a plumber by 6:00 p.m. It took him about an hour and half but got the job done and thoroughly explained to us what the cause of the problem was. Plumbing problems are absolutely the worst and to happen on a Sunday afternoon, but this company came through for me, made it as less painful as possible. The fee was steep (about $ 300.00) but I could have gotten flooded and it would have cost a lot more. The value was there: prompt, professional, reliable, AND he smelled really good!

I am an idiot who paid Mr. Rooter way too much money in hopes that they could help prevent future plumbing problems at a rental. Instead, I now have new problems and have been told I need a new toilet because the «jets» aren’t working in this one. The water drains out of the toilet when not in use; then when flushed it almost overflows, something that did not happen prior to the work they did. Andy and Gary came out and used a plunger on the toilet and came up with the diagnosis that a new toilet was needed. REALLY? I have used this company on several occasions, for small jobs, but would NOT recommend them for big jobs. Get a real plumber.
*****I was just getting ready to post this when Greg, the General Manager of Mr. Rooter called and offered to put in a new toilet at no cost to me. This was not because he felt they had done anything wrong, it was because I had already spent so much money with their company and he wanted a satisfied customer, which he now has. Thank you, Greg. This is the way to run a company.

Mr. Rooter came out for a plumbing problem @ our laundromat. The guy took an hour looking for the MAIN and could not find the main. Believe it or not he called a supervisor to come help. Between the plumber and his supervison neither could find a main. The prepared an estimate where these guys recommended that the toilet be removed and a main put in above it — Estimate from Mr. Rooter $ 2500.
I called a second plumber out the same night. The plumber arrived it took him 15 minutes to find the main. This plumber explained it would take (2) men to do the job as one had to feed the snake into the main. After Hours (2) with (2) Men Cost = $ 260 and done within (2) Hours. Quite a «BIG» difference in cost. How they evaluated this is beyond my comprehension. I am sure they were looking more for a percentage of cost.

The quote was more than $ 7,000 to do a repipe, which wasn’t needed to fix low water pressure. The aerators were clogged in the kitchen and bathroom but they were not even checked by the guy who came out. He just saw older pipes and said «repipe.» Pete’s Plumbing got everything flowing for $ 85.
That’s sad enough. What’s worse is that I was a repeat customer having used them a handful of times previously. Not exactly how a regular customer should be treated. No more Mr. Rooter (Mr. Rip-​off Guy).

I have used Mr Rooter Plumbing for several small jobs in the past. However just last week when I thought I was just going to get a drain flushed, Andy the plumber assigned to call suspected that something more complex might be going on. After his discovery that my drains, in particular my main was filled with roots, he explained what options I had.
I took an option that presented itself to be the most logical which also was going to allow me to see if I had even a bigger problem, whcih as you guessed… I did!
This was late on a Friday afternoon by the time I knew it there was another plumber and the Field supervisor, Gary Rinier on site helping Andy.
Once again I was presented several options to solve my problem. I chose on that was was going to require two days worth of work. Not only did they perform the work in a very neat professional manner, I was not inconvenienced one bit through the process.
I was VERY impressed and pleased with the service and work that was performed!
