My family and I have been coming to Phở-Nomenon for almost 3 years and we can’t seem to get enough of it. We always start off with their Egg Rolls, Soda Chanh and Ginger Lemon Green Tea Pot. I order their Vegetarian Phở with fried tofu, my daughter orders the Shrimp Phở and my husband orders the Shaken Beef plate with fried rice. The food always comes out piping hot and in a timely manner. The staff are wonderful as well!

I like this place cuz it’s decent for fillet mignon phở. It’s pricey compared to hole in the wall phở joints but it’s on 2nd street so whatever. Hahaha The soup is good, noodle cooked right, fresh mints/bean sprout, and medium mignon. Can’t hate when it’s walking distance. Customer service is what all phở joints offer. Lol

This was my first time going to this location. I’m giving a 3 star review because the phở I had was«just okay». Overall, I enjoyed the flavor of the broth but the brisket, filet mignon and beef ball were tough. I was hoping for a little more freshness. This was a pick up order and it only took 5 mins for it to be ready. I’m guessing that everything is probably precooked and that’s why it was ready so fast.

Loved the egg rolls! We got the phở with all the beef. Really good. Way too much for one person so we have left overs really friendly staff too. The iced green tea is excellent.

A change in management requires an UPDATE from my One-Star review, which is still worth reading. Still not a fan of the inconsistent service, nor the cafeteria-like ambiance, nor the horrible«iced tea», which is seriously water with personality, but they now provide diet coke refills, the quality and quantity of the steak has improved, and they have really cool spoons with hooked edges so they don’t fall into the soup.

I wanted this place to work out, but it’s time to call it quits, Phở-Nomenon. I think I’ve been spoiled by the many great places in the Westminister/Garden Grove area. The portions are small, the broth is honestly one of the worst I’ve ever tried, and I hate that in your bowl of phở garnishments, you get two lemons and one jalapeño. Servers are nice. The restaurant itself is very small and cramped, and not good for large groups.

$ 27.80 for 1 Soda Chan, 1 Vietnamese coffee, order of egg rolls, and 1 Phở Tai! Seems pretty pricey to me! Phở had a good flavor, tender meat. Soda chan and coffee were both good. I’d pass on the egg rolls next time. Friendly staff and nice clean restaurant.

Very rarely do I write reviews but I feel that I must in order to make people aware. I ordered chicken phở and vegetarian phở to go today. My brother who was eating the chicken phở ended up chewing on a nail clipping. It’s a real finger nail with lavender nail polish. I called and informed the manager. He said I could return for a refund. I asked if all employees wear gloves when handling food. He said they do but I would imagine he say so even if they don’t. I’m not going to be able to eat at this establishment any longer. Which I’m sad about. I rather not get the refund and make you aware of the situation. I would feel bad getting a refund and writing this review.

Who says you have to go to Westminster or garden grove for some decent phở… Ordered the egg rolls and the phở ga. The egg rolls were def the hero and although I don’t feel this place is a traditional /authentic Vietnamese spot and not thee best flavored broth but it def exceeded my expectations. The lemonade is made fresh .but no refills! The price point is up a tick from what you would normally pay but for two drinks a bowl to share and order of egg rolls you come in still under 25.00 not sure if it was the time we came but showed up at 5 on a Friday evening and the place was nearly empty .keep in mind this is next to about three dozen other restaurants to choose from on 2nd street in long beach so don’t let that deter you from giving this place a try. The staff was extremely pleasant so not sure about some of the other reviews when it comes to that aspect. Enjoy

This review is long overdue. The service here was terrible. Came here to warm up on a very windy, cold night with my sister… As soon as we stepped into the patio, the server walked up to us and said«I need you guys to come back in 20 minutes as the kitchen is very busy.» There was no greeting or apologies, the server simply told us to leave. I even asked the server if we can order appetizers and don’t mind waiting for the food then. However, he simply said, «the kitchen is slammed.» I did not want to make a scene that night and did not ask for the manager. We just left and went to Sushi on Fire instead. I have never had their food, nor would I ever pay for such terrible service. Never going back here even if it were free. I am taking my business somewhere else.

It was so cold and my friend and I were in the mood for something warm, hearty and soupy. He lives walking distant to Phở-Nomenon so we came here for dinner. The inside is spacious, nice décor and paintings on the wall and their is a small outside patio. The menu is pretty simple, you have appetizers, phở, warm plates and beverages. _Nem Nuong Cuon($ 6) Summer rolls consisting of rice paper with grilled pork patty, lettuce, and fresh herbs. Served with Phở-Nomenon special sauce. I’ve had this roll many times in Vietnamese restaurants and it never dissapoints. Although I’ve had better in Rosemead, the rolls here were still good. Comes in 2 and cut in 6. The pork inside is juicy and filled with greens/lettuce. I’ve had this version where they put fried shrimp which is also great for crunch. The sauce is a bit of a sweet fishy sauce, pairs well with the rolls but I prefer the sauce I had in rosemead that was a bit sweeter and thicker. All in all good solid appetizer. _Com Bo Luc Lac($ 12) Shaken beef with wok-tossed marinated filet mignon and sautéed onions on watercress with rice. For Fried Rice, add $ 3.00. This is always a go to. My friend ordered this and after trying it, I was surprised at how juicy and well cooked the beef is. The seasoning was perfect. Glad I got my own plate this time :) The rice is warm, served with a small bed of lettuce. I ordered a fried egg with this, which was just as good, but definitely filled me up a lot more. I would get this again as the beef is just so juicy. _Tai Phở($ 9) Sliced rare filet mignon steak. I’m not a huge fan or phở. I’d pick ramen over phở. My friend got this as it was perfect for the cold weather outside. Although I did not try the noodles and beef the broth itself was good but too salty for my taste. Overall great comfort food at a great price. I would come here again for the rolls and shaken beef!

My wife and I have eaten here multiple times. About 4 stars each time. This time there was a Unilocal Check-in offer for 2 Free Mini-Springrolls! SCORE! So we ordered 2 Bun bo hue with extra noodles this time, an appetizer of fried spring rolls, and I redeemed my Unilocal coupon for 2 free mini-springrolls. The fried spring rolls came out, but no mini-springrolls in sight. I didn’t think anything of it at first because the fried spring rolls were excellent. Maybe they take 50% off our order of the fried springrolls because of the coupon? Anyways, then came our Bun bo hue. Not as good as some you’ll find in Garden Grove /Westminster because it’s missing the blood cubes and pig knuckles(which I love). It didn’t seem like we had extra noodles though, so that was more of a let down. Then the check came. Charged full for the fried springrolls. Never got the 2 free mini spring rolls. If you’re going to have a Check-in Offer, make sure you fulfill it! Aside from the goofed order, it was a cold windy night, but they had the door wide open. Everyone on our side of the restaurant was clutching at their jackets to stay warm INDOORS, so I closed the door. But then the manager opened the doors again! Can’t you see that patrons are having to KEEPTHEIRSWEATERSANDJACKETSONINDOORS? Probably never going to come back here again and just drive the extra 6 – 7 miles for excellent Vietnamese food in GG/WM.

With so many options along 2nd Street, this local spot can be a bit hidden among the many restaurants and shops around. But if you’re craving some phở or Vietnamese fair, this place is a worth a try. Perfect during the cool weather days, the phở is a nice warmer-upper. For phở, I usually order the #8 Duc Biet. A light, flavorful beef broth(that isn’t too heavy) with pieces of rare filet mignon steak, brisket and meat ball. Lately, I’ve been ordering the #26 Com Bo Luc Lac(shaken beef) with the garlic noodles. Very tasty and the beef is cooked med rare to med. A few other menu items sound tasty and are on my list to try. They also serve wine and beer… yes, pls. Service is friendly and the restaurant is clean with both inside and outside seating. Phở-Nomenon is worth a try if you’re in the area and is one of the few places on 2nd street that is on my regular lunch, go-to list. Overall the food is average to good. The prices are a bit more than the usual phở places I’ve been to, but considering the location it’s worth the price. Solid 3.5 stars.

Not the cheapest or the most authentic Vietnamese restaurant around, but what choice do you have when you’re in Long Beach? I got the bun bo hue, which was okay. It’s supposed to be a spicy beef/pork noodle soup that comes with cabbage and bean sprouts. The soup was okay but the noodle portions were kinda small. Noodles are so cheap! Just give us more and make everyone happier. The dish didn’t come with the usual pigs feet and blood cubes(thus, not authentic) but I can see why when catering to a more diverse crowd that may be disgusted with those items in the soup. Can’t lie, I don’t eat them myself. I also tried some of my sister’s phở which was pleasantly surprising. The soup was actually really good! I’m a really picky phở eater and a bit of a purist when it comes to the soup. I liked how the soup here tasted meaty and not laden with msg and unnecessary flavors. Would definitely recommend this and order this if I came back. The Vietnamese food here is approximately $ 2 – 3 more than you’d find in SGV but in this neighborhood and location on such a busy street, I’m not surprised. Definitely worth going if you’re in the area and want to satisfy your Viet food cravings without having to travel far.

Another amazing summer night at Belmont Shore. Beach, breeze, friends and phở. It’s truly a perfect combination. As a phở lover/addict/enthusiast, I give this place 5 stars. Quality phở, delicious sides and a Thai tea to kill for. This is my 2nd favorite phở joint in SoCal. It’s small and parking is impossible, But if you can can find a seat and hail a waiters attention, It’s all worth it :)

Two stars for slowwww service. I know it was very packed when I went but there wasn’t really any sense of urgency from the servers. The price is a bit overpriced but it must be for the area. The Banh Mi sandwich was just ok to me, nothing spectacular. Shared a sandwich and a bowl of phở with my friend. Phở was tasty with a good amount of noodles but we told the servers we wanted to split the bowl, so it would have been nice for them to put it into 2 separate bowls. Had a bit higher hopes for this location but don’t think I’ll be coming back because of the wait time and slow service.

Phở-Nomenon served me one of the best bowls of phở that I have had recently. The broth was so hearty and full of flavor; it was perfect. I went with the Phở Tai. The meat was also hearty and there was a lot of it along with a generous portion of onions in the broth. The standard veggie accompaniments were crisp and fresh. My friends and I came in midday on a Sunday and received attentive service from the man in the glasses. He was friendly, helpful, and made sure that we had everything we needed. My friend ordered a coffee which they bring to you in a type of press along with condensed milk in a cup. The man helping us returned to the table a few times to make sure that she knew how to use it and that we were enjoying our food. This is a great spot for phở in Long Beach.

Phở-Nomenon has a ½ phở and ½ Bahn Mi sandwich special. We also ordered the spring rolls. I’m not the best judge of phở dishes, but it was pretty tasty. The beef salad was okay, and the spring rolls are inherently a simple dish. Bf and I have been spoiled by Nom Nom, so the Bahn Mi sandwich was a disappointment. The service was prompt. Overall, it was a good experience.
