Good pizza and a great selection of craft beer. I was pleasantly surprised. Pleasant staff and speedy food delivery what more could you ask for?

My most recent(and probably last) visit Me: Do you have any specials (the place was recently redecorated. the blackboard with specials is gone) Blonde at counter: umm. I dont think so Me: Could you find out? (keep in mind i have called in phone orders, asked what the specials were,. and told there were none. and when i would pick up my order. would see specials written on the board) Blonde:. that was just a polite way of saying no Me: Actually, «i dont think so» is just another way of saying«I dont know» « The blonde threw attitude and eye rolls the rest of the night. No bread or service at are table after. Redecorate all you want(regardless of how ugly it is). but if you want your restaurant to succeed. If I were you I would get a more professional staff. God your front of house is a mess. The food is great. Service makes me never want to go back FYI to the blonde if she is reading this. A polite way of saying no would be «I’m sorry sir, we currently dont have any specials. Could I recommend one of my favorite items on the menu?

Last night was the LAST time my wife and I will be ordering from Pizza Pi. We have have food delivered to us on several occasions, although out of the blue a few weeks ago, we were told that they don’t deliver to our area anymore? Getting to see the confusion and lack of organization first hand last night while I waited 1HOUR for a take out order, I think the person answering the phone just decided that they didn’t want to deliver to us, not that the delivery area changed. I walked into Pizza Pie at 6:10 p.m. and there was only 1 couple in the dining area. They had 2 cooks in the kitchen that I could see and only one cashier/server, but they were dead, so why did it take an hour for a small pizza and a plate of Chicken Parm? After 40 minutes I made eye contact with the woman at the counter and she said, «sorry for the wait.» I waited another fifteen minutes and went up to the counter to inquire about the wait. I was told it should be done«any minute» The girl didn’t look at all confident that that would actually happen. I have been frustrated with delivery wait time in the past, but the pizza is pretty good and they offer it on a WHEATCRUST which is the only type that my wife can eat. Suffice it to say that at just over an hour after my initial order, I received my food. I asked to speak to a manager and that never happened. After another 10 minute wait I walked out pissed, vowing NEVER to return. The pizza was again good according to my wife, but my Chicken Parmesan was just average and the garlic bread was a hard, under cooked flavorless ball! This place doesn’t care about how long people wait for the food and makes zero effort to rectify that, they can’t even get a manager out there to talk to me! Z Pizza in Long Beach offers Wheat Crust for pizza if you are looking and their meatball subs are pretty dam good, soft bread and flavorful meatballs. I will be ordering fro there from now on.

The first and last time I eat here. Placed a phone order and was told delivery would take 45 min. More than an hour and 20 minutes later my pizza finally arrived… cold. Whatever. By this time I was starving. Worst thing about it is that this is the greasiest pizza I’ve ever seen. Just soaked! Enough oil to seep through the box. I couldn’t even choke down one slice and ended up throwing the whole thing away. This is my first review on Unilocal.Thought I’d do my part to prevent others from being equally disappointed.

After reading the reviews on spotty delivery I was prepared for the worst. I’ve ordered twice and they have delivered under their allotted time frame. I probably just jinxed myself writing this review… We just order pizza and, again, the reviews here speak for themselves — hands down the best in Long Beach. When it’s not cold, which has not happened to us… I like the standard pepperoni and mushroom and theirs is great. My friends ordered some kind of veggie thingie and it was succulent.

Bad service when the place is packed! Orders that are placed well over an hour in advance by phone should be ready for pick up within time limits specified. I waited too long and was so frustrated by the time I received my food I did not bother checking my order… My bad; No garlic bread? They forgot to include it with my order of spaghetti… Ugh! Food was average but not at all worth the time & money or frustration. Warning: If the place is packed, move on there’s too many restaurants in the vicinity to wait on this one!!!

Keeping it very simple, I was a loyal customer until today, but I will never go here again. The complete lack of providing quality food and decent service, and the total abandonment toward customer relations, puts this place at the very top of my list of joints to never patronize ever again. Not only did they not provide quality service at the start(late delivery of crappy and cold food), but when I called to speak to a manager, I got nothing but runaround and attitude. The owners exact words to me were, «I only respect those that respect me first», and my favorite, «When I’m busy, I don’t have time for you». Well, I have better things to do with my money than waste it on some ignorant business owner who charges WAY too much for crap food and crappier service.

Let’s just say the one star is generous. We have been ordering pizza here for some time and tonight we ordered pizza and a pizza skin to be delivered. Here are the facts: 1. Pizza Pi said it would be delivered in 40 minutes. 2. Pizza over an hour later 3. Worst of all the pizza were barely warm 4. We called Pizza Pi to express our disatisfaction and the girl said the manager stepped out and would call back 5. We waited an hour for the manager to call back and finally called Pizza Pi 6. My husband received nothing but attitude from the girl that answered the phone and she said the manager was outside and couldn’t talk 7. Husband drove down to Pizza Pi to have a face to face conversation with the manager 8. Manager was rude and reluctantly gave us back our money for the pizza skin 9. Will never get pizza from here again and would never recommend this place to anyone else. Honestly, if the situation was handled correctly and if Pizza Pi actually apologized, then we would probably still be customers and I would not be here writing this review. Unfortunately, it was not handled correctly and in reading some of the other reviews this seems to be a common occurance at this place. We try to support local businesses in Long Beach as much as possible, but this is one that we no longer will be able to.

The last time we ordered pizza from here, we said we wouldn’t do it again, which makes me sad, since I used to really love this place. The quality of the pizza went WAY down… I wonder what happened. The Greek pizza came missing ingredients, and really not like a Greek pizza at all. I just looked at my previous review and shed a single tear(just one, I didn’t love the pizza THAT much). Maybe some new pizza spot will come to the neighborhood.

Slow Service. Wow. It just keeps getting worse. Don’t waste your time or money. I come here for the food but the service is really horrible. Its not that the employees are lazy or incompetent, they are simply short staffed and ill-prepared/informed. I said the same thing about Sipology(clueless owners who would not take feedback) up the street and look where they are now, CLOSED. Yes, the food is good, but NOTTHATGOOD :/ The staff: Friendly girls but not enough of them. I have been coming here since they opened and have seen how poorly the employees are treated, also seen a high turnover. So tacky. The owner/manager is always standing around while the poor little girls are running in circles. The kitchen: Hire two Mexicans instead of one slow chef! You have GOT to be kidding me. Note to Management: Please please please, stop penny pinching and hire some more people. Stop cast-hiring also. Why is it the perverted owner only hires cute petite girls? You’re obviously not hiring off experience. What kind of system do you have that every time I go in my order is forgotten? Seriously, every time! The last time the owner(short bald dude) personally offered me a glass of wine for waiting. I don’t want more wine. I want my 30 min back or my food in a timely fashion, or a full refund. 30 min ticket time for a salad and pasta?! 30 min for a nasty bean soup? really. for $ 22.00 plus 20% tip? In the corporate restaurant world these rules are GOLD: Drinks — within 3 min Salad or soup — 5 min ticket time MAX Anything with chicken on it — 7 – 9 min ticket time MAX Anything with beef or pork — 10 – 12 min ticket time providing you let your guests know when they order it, that it will take a little longer. ^ That doesn’t even include the 12 steps of service. You need some serious help learning how to run a restaurant, I have seen so many restaurants come and go in my neighborhood, if you don’t shape up, you will be next. .

Caprese Salad… looked like it was just thrown in together. I love olives but Pizza Pi’s olives were realllllly salty(and I eat salty also). The pasta and garlic bread wasn’t too bad. Had the food togo(picked up). Pizza Pi’s pizza was average at best…

Pizza pi gets a NEGATIVENEGATIVESTARS! Seriously, they just lost a customer. I ordered a margherita pizza and a Cesar salad to be delivered. Food gets here in a decent amount of time. Great. I go straight for my salad because I like their Cesar salad. I pour my dressing on it and take a big bite and wth… this Cesar taste funny. That’s because it’s ranch dressing. I called and told«Jessica» about the error with my salad and she says the driver will deliver me a new Cesar salad. OK perfect. 30 mins go by and still no salad… I call and«Jeremy» says the driver is out delivering and should be there shortly. OK no prob. 20 mins go by and still no salad… Okkkkkk. So I call and speak to «Jessica» again and she tells me the driver left my salad on MYDOORSTEP. Commence with the«This is completely unacceptable», «Do you think it’s ok for someone to leave food on the doorstep like you’re a dog?», «I’m totally pissed off», «I want a refund» «Put the manager on the phone» After some unnecessary back and forth«Sid» the manager apologizes and assures me I will be refunded for my salad plus the undeserved tip I gave to the guy. Problem solved. However, I go downstairs and check for the salad and find two containers of Cesar dressing. «You’ve got to be effing kidding me»

My group came here because Roscoes had a two hour wait. However the food turned out to be pretty damn good I can’t remember the pizza that we ordered but the Roast Beef sub sandwich was bomb. Service here could have been better, but for the price we paid I can’t really complain.

Boy have I got a story to tell you… Customer service is awful. Here’s why… My bffs and I decided to spend the weekend in Long Beach so I buy a coupon for this place thinking it sounded pretty good. We walk into the restaurant, greeted by a sign that says take your own menu and seat yourself. Wow lazy, ok whatever. We end up ordering a caesar salad, margarita pizza, and cheese stuffed spinach tortellini with pink sauce instead of meat sauce and no sausage. This was for three people. The salad comes out first and the waitress brings out a chicken caesar salad instead of a regular caesar. Ok, whatever, my friends ate the chicken off since I’m vegetarian. Salad was a little too overdressed but it had good dressing flavor. Next our pizza and tortellini come only she brings us two plates of tortellini. I mention we only ordered one and the waitress quickly responds by saying it’s one order but it was too big for one plate… O. k… Strange, but she sounded sure. We end up not even touching the other plate of tortellini. The bill comes and we get charged for two plates of tortellini! WTF?! I ask the waitress and she goes back to the manager. She comes back saying the manager wants the uneaten portion back if we want it off the bill. We’re annoyed at this point and we didn’t even want it so we give her the to-go box which is most likely going in the dumpster. WASTE! The bill gets corrected and I give her the coupon and she gives it back saying they don’t take it. Seriously? We’re pissed off now. We just pay and leave because we just want out. Worst service ever. Never coming back ever and spreading the word.

Back again with vengeance. First time dining in. Small simple clean joint. Got an order of buffalo wings in spicy sauce and an order of wings in pineapple orange sauce. These wings are sooooo delicious, plump and juicy. They pile on the sauce thick, rich and glistening. The pineapple orange is sweet and tangy. The spicy is well spicy and rich. The ranch dressing for dipping is thick and creamy. Major props. The carrots and celery, fresh and chilled. I’m getting dizzy ! ! ! We also partook in the pizza. We tried the rustica(pepperoni, canadian bacon, sausage and salami). Outstanding flavor. Spicy and zingy. definitely on the attack on two fronts here, pizza and wings.

Ah forgot about this little jewel of a pizza place! Just got happy thinking about it again. There is some good pizza in L.A. Love it! Authentic Italian run and owned by an Italian. Good food… definitely one of the only good pizza places in L.A.

I had a bazillion things to do for website projects that had gotten behind over the holiday and there wasn’t a thing in the house to eat, but I really didn’t have time to go out and the thought of pizza hut was not sounding good although I really felt like some marinara sauce on something… I toggled over to Unilocal and typed in pizza, looked for a non-chain that delivered with a rating of 4 stars or higher and got Pizza Pi, I vaguely remembered a fellow local Unilocaler recommended the place as well, so I gave them a call and 40 minutes later I was having pizza and pasta while clicking away creating photo galleries for a website… The pizza was way YUM, I mean, the kind of pizza that is nothing like the fake pizza you get at the chain places… sort of crispy yet floppy a little greasy in a good way and a bit bubbly. does that make sense? I mean, the way it is supposed to be and the cheese didn’t taste like Velveeta, i mean, it was real cheese. The sauce on the pasta was spicy. but really great and the pasta itself was firm — not soggy… I can say that I will never be ordering from a chain when I need a delivery pizza again. it isn’t often that I am trapped in with out food, but when i am its good to know they will be there! :)

My FB(food buddy) found out about this place through after he purchased a $ 20 gift certificate for only $ 10. After reading the reviews, I was confident in myself that I could finish $ 20 worth of delicious pizza fixings. Okay, so here was the bad news: Pizza Pi and apparently have a disagreement in their contract that only Pizza Pi is aware of. So when we got to the restaurant, the employee told us that in order to use the $ 20 coupon, we would have to spend a minimum of $ 30!(Nowhere on the fine print!). However, the girl working was so understanding about our outrage, that she gave us an enormous discount(doesn’t the word«enormous» look so good when followed by the word«discount»?). So to sum up, my FB and I had fried zucchini sticks and a small Hawaiian pizza for only $ 9.99 ! The good news doesn’t stop there; the fried zucchini sticks were the best I’ve ever had and the pizza wasn’t bad at all(a bit too much pineapple in my opinion). I would give Pizza Pi a perfect score if not for the fact that the manager refused to give what was offered on the certificate without adding the restaurant’s own conditions(unfortunately, the certificate online didn’t reflect the changes that the restaurant had made). Luckily, the girl working there was so very understanding!

After spending most of the night at the Aquarium for«Photographer’s Night», my boyfriend and i were both craving fish. :(But we felt kind of guilty, so we opted for pizza instead because, well, we’re pretty much always down for pizza. Who isn’t? That, and it was a Sunday night and most other places in the area closed at like 7. We decided to play it safe and just get a margherita pizza and a couple beers. FYI, the beers here are SO cheap! They don’t even need a happy hour because none of their beers(PBR, Pyramid, Newcastle, etc) are more than $ 3.50! Whaaat? I know. Quite sweet. :] We were pretty much one of the only people in the place, probably because we baaarely made it before they closed.(the door was actually closed and locked, but we convinced them to let us in, haha.) Our margherita pizza was pretty delicious and really fresh. Now, i’m not a crust person. Never have been and probably never will be. BUT i have to say, i totally fell in love with this crust. I don’t know what it was about it, but it was so freaking delicious. It had that freshly baked bread feel to it — slightly crispy on the outside but soft and gooey on the inside, you know what i’m talking about? Hell yeah you do. It was delicious. The small pizza was way more than enough for just us two, and it only ran us $ 8.50. 2 beers each & a delicious pizza for under $ 20? Sign me up.

Walking distance from a friends house is always a plus. Great pizza, loaded with all kinds of toppings. You can order it by the slice or get the whole damn pizza if you want. Sandwiches are also good. They serve beer, which is always a plus. I haven’t tried much else besides the pizza, sandwiches and zucchini sticks. Should point out though that Canadian bacon is not bacon! bacon is bacon!
