I wanted to like this place so badly, but I couldn’t. I wanted a slice of good pizza and a beer. Unfortunately, I had a bad experience. Sign says BEERONTAP — no beer. Overpriced pizza! Bug on plate. Short blonde hair in food. Not mine! Pizza is nothing spectacular. Will not be going back.

Love this place! Slices are huge and variety of pizza slices are awesome! Excellent thin crust with nice crunch. Service is very good and place is very clean! Glad they came out to LB.

A good effort but not quite on the money(yet?) The good news is that they nailed the NY Thin Crust! Everything else seems incomplete here. From the toppings that needed all of the condiments to complete them, to the Beer On Tap sign visible from the street but no license to sell it, to the fact that they advertise as pizza delivery but havent started the service yet, to these cushionless booths that Abe Lincoln himself would have complained about, to these damned wobbly table, to the raw garlic in the garlic knots… All fixable and hopefully in progress… But oh that crust! This place has a solid foundation to build upon, i hope they do. I will be back from time to time to for a slice and to cheer them on.

C’mon, man! They ran outta Garlic Knots and couldn’t make more of one of the pizzas on display?! You run outta dough or garlic?! Pizza is bomb, but you gotta have it, make it and serve it up! I’ll be back and hope for more of the menu available!

I found my new favorite pizza spot! It’s NY style pizza, meaning large slices, thin crust. The white pizza is by far my favorite! They have a pizza of the day, except Tuesdays where it’s $ 2 slices on selected pizzas. They also have day old slices available for $ 1. Neat selection of bottled sodas and I believe they just got beer on tap. Small selection of desserts made by a local LB baker. It has a hip vibe, punk rock music playing throughout the renovated home turned restaurant. Parking is a little scarce, with 4⁄5 spots behind the restaurant but then again, it is Long Beach and unless you’re in a shopping center, parking is scarce all over Long Beach. Definitely will be back again very soon!

We tried Pizzanista last week. I had high hopes for the new addition to Long Beach. I will say the are ok. Nothing amazing, nothing outstanding, crust is pretty thin(thinner than most NY style pizza). I left feeling like i wanted something more. I’ll give them another shot. Also no beer yet but license has been applied for.

Great place for pizza. Is it the best pizza I’ve ever had? No, but it’s really good pizza! Not too fancy but with owe some varieties, that’s what I like, choice, choice, choice! On Sunday’s they have a Mac n’ Cheese pizza! Their White pizza is very good, and their pepperoni is outstanding. The crust is in the thin side, but they have deep dish Sicilian pizzas. The place is very large, clean and great for big parties of people. It’s a great hang out, beer on tap and tons of fun drinks. One of the pluses is the price, plus, they sale day-old slices for $ 1.00! Again, great pizza, great prices and great place to eat at…

Vegan pizza! I have been wanting to come and support the different restaurants that were here at this converted home, but never had a chance till now. It’s actually bigger inside than I thought! The menu is fairly simple, consisting of garlic knots, meatballs, & vegan or carnivorous pizza eaters. Unfortunately, no alcohol, but they have a cool selection of sodas. Pizza by the slice are NY sizes(about $ 3 – 4 each) so getting a whole pie may be a better deal. They have 1 day old slices for $ 1 if you’re on a real budget! They reheat your slice as they do in NY so it takes 5 – 10 minutes depending on how busy they are. The slices we tried were pretty average(vegan veggie, meat Jesus seitan was a bit dry, white pizza, & Mac n cheese). 3.5 stars I’d come back once they get their beer/alcohol license!

Great pizza and crispy crust. $ 2 pepperoni or cheese slices on Tuesdays. My only knock is it could use a bit more sauce.

Pizza was alright. I thought it was a bit overpriced really for the quality of their pizza. I ordered a pepperoni and soppressata. It didn’t taste anything special or different from an average pizza place. Not fast food quality, but definitely not fancy pizza either for the price tag. You can find way better pizza for the price of what Pizzanista charges. Finding seating inside is a real pain. It can get very crowded for dinner and it’s all self seating. Furthermore, the employees don’t really clean the place very well. A lot of tables were still messy from the previous customers.

I really liked the small green salad, could have easily split it with someone as a side because it was not small at all. The white pizza was quite yummy and about the size of a costco slice. Also ordered a Sicilian slice that I had to take home, I thought they’d give me half of what they gave, that bad boy was the equivalent of a small pizza. I’d pass on the garlic knots that everyone is hyping up and stick to pizza & salad. All I could think of when eating the knots is what happened to garlic bread? Knots are trendy but really not as good as bread. If you’re big into knots I guess theirs are as good as anyone else’s. Overall really nice warm atmosphere & tasty eats.

If you have been to Garage Pizza in DTLA you will know what to expect at this restaurant. For those who don’t know, it’s Pizza by the slice for the most part. This is not to take anything away from Pizzanista. The slices are a generous proportion served on white paper plates. Nothing fancy or pretentious, just pizza and sodas for now. Beer coming soon. You can buy whole pizzas as well ranging from $ 18 – 30 bucks. The names sounds very interesting, I’ll give them that. I tried a Pepperoni slice, White slice, and Mushroom slice. Of the three, the White pizza was the best. It’s hard to describe the creamy deliciousness. The other two were fine but the best feature of each slice is the toasted crunchy texture from reheating each slice. There is nothing like it and I have tried a lot of pizza places. Oh, and the Spiced Ginger Soda is also intensely good. All it needs is a little alcohol. I need to order a whole pie and that might hanged my mind about my rating.

They don’t serve beer yet, BUT the pizza is great. Fresh and light with vegan/vegetarian options, definitely a plus. I tried the macaroni pizza(available only on Sundays), the spicy sorpressata and mushroom and the Scilian. The macaroni was more of a novelty – something I would’t go back specifically for, but the mac n cheese was good, a little too oily for me. But the crust was great, thin, fresh and crunchy. I think I just found my new pizza place. I’m not sure if they will deliver but if so, sorry Milana’s!

Very excited to finally sink my teeth into the perfect crust. Thin, with some crisp chew. Not heavy on the toppings. And, the ones I love. There’s an art form to handling a great dough, sourdough grown for local customers. Hand made and hand thrown. Then, there’s the sauce. Fresh. Creative menu too. $ 2 Tuesday’s — how can you pass that up. Going back for the mystic Sunday Mac n’ cheese, or the brunch offerings. They do what I love best… do what ya know and keep it simple. Don’t pass up the Cesar salad or garlic knots. Have a lot more to try and goin’ back with the girls

This place is legit. This is the second location(other is downtown LA). If you’re searching for good pizza in Long Beach I don’t know if you can find better.

First visit to Pizzanista! That opened on Tuesday. Ordered the garlic knots, Caesar salad and a Sicilian pizza. The pizza sauce and the Sicilian pizza were by far the best pizza I have eaten since moving to California in August. They were really busy since just opening and I am sure there will be great things coming.

Really awesome place! Cool atmosphere. I ordered a slice of pepperoni pizza and a mixed green salad. The slice was good. I loved the thin crust and the amount of cheese(not too much) but it could have used a tad more pizza sauce. The pepperonis they use are the yummy little small ones that curl up when they cook… The best! The flavored of the slice were good overall. The salad was good too, but nothing special. My bf ordered a gluten free meat Jesus pizza. Love the name! All the meats they use are super tasty. His gf crust was a little undercooked, but gf can be tough to get right. Again all the flavored of the pizza were good. What I loved was that they have a section in their drink fridge where they sell day old cold pizza for $ 1! I’m going to have to try that next time. Overall the individual slices are the best bet. The whole pizzas are pretty pricey. I would return here again.
