Pussy & Pooch Pethouse and Pawbar

This place has really cute clothes, toys, and anything your pup might need. It reminds me of the place I used to take Tony to get groomed at in New York. You can tell they are high end because they sell the best dog food, including Stella and Chewy (not high in corn). There customer service really sets them apart. They saved my baby after he had a poo accident and it was stuck to his fur. They helped me get him cleaned up even though their groomers were closed and we were still able to go to dinner across the street instead of having to go home. Hope to come back soon and get Tony toys :)

We took out the Shitzu puppy outside for the first time, the sale person was really nice and friendly and made us feel comfortable. We will definitely planing on coming back ;)

Living in the downtown area it’s a convenient place to buy good quality food and treats for your pet. Helpful but more importantly knowledgeable staff. Oh! Almost forgot mention that they have a happy hour for you and your dog every month.

Well, on our way to DoLy’s for macarons, this cute little store for cats ‘n dogs caught our eye. Decorated in pretty much bright neon green, it’s hard to not see it, plus it’s very open and airy. Given that we have 2 little pooches of our own, we just had to go take a look.
It’s very tastefully decorated and is pretty much a small scale PetSmart, but pretty much everything (food wise) is organic, natural, gluten free or something along the lines of healthy. They also have pet clothes, accessories, you name it… just not as much of it as in a PetSmart store. This place even has cute birthday cakes and huge cookie jars filled with rawhide bones of all shapes, sizes and types, all natural of course. They have oodles and oodles of doggie treats, again, all flavors, types and sizes. We bought a bag of salmon doggie treats and another in lamb, and it was decently priced… buy 1, get 1 free. Not too shabby.
This was a very nice surprise. Apparently, they have other locations in Beverly Hills, Downtown L.A. and another in Belmont Shore. It’s a cool store that I would avail myself to again.

Sadly, still must give bad review. I ordered fish sticks about 3 weeks ago and was promised a follow up when they arrived. ABSOLUTELY NO FOLLOW UP! This is not only shameful but really bad business. I can not recommend this store to anyone

Such a bummer I forgot to use their 10% discount when I bought Maximus’ bday cake because boy was it expensive! It was a tiny little cake for $ 28 :(The things I buy for my dogs! I called ahead of time to make sure they had pre-​made bday cakes. They had one with blue writing that said ‘Happy Birthday’. I love how they don’t have any kind of meat in the cake and treats they sell. My 10 year old cockerspaniel is allergic to poultry and beef, so I always have to make sure there’s no type of meat (unless it’s fish) in any of his treats. I also ordered 6 hard treats (3 for $ 5 or $ 6, I think is what I paid). They were donut shaped, ribbon shaped, and bone shaped. It was pretty cute!
The lady recommended thawing the cake for 2 – 3 hours 1 day prior to eating and then refrigerating it afterwards. I did just as she said, but it was still kind of hard when I gave it to the dogs. Regardless, they ate it like champs and gobbled everything! I think it’s safe to say they enjoyed it!

Nick the manager here is amazing! He always takes care of me. Very helpful and wide array of products. Highly recommend coming here.

Manager is super friendly and knowledgeable about what my doggies need. Great selection of treats. Check out the doggie bar and order up a doggie beer. Lol.

Great service!!! The Staff is very knowledgable and nice. Our Zelda just loves going there and picking out her favorite treats. Everything is organic and good for your pets.

My mommy drove me AAAAAALLL the way from the San Fernando Valley on her day off to see this store! Though I got car sick on my way, I was happy to see this store.
There was free parking in the back for customers, which was nice because my mommy hates looking for parking.
The store was very clean and well-​organized. It’s a small but cute space. The manager and people who work here greeted us right away. They were very nice to me and my mommy was smiling. It sounded like they were knowlegable about the food they carried because my mom talked to them for some time.
We also met some dogs who had also come with their owners to visit the store. They kept sniffing my behind – I must smell delicious. They were well-​behaved and social so I made a friend or two.
I got some FREE samples of treats and was fed a piece of rabbit by the manager! My first try-​yummy! I inhaled it in a second… wooof!
They had a water bowl for me so I was a happy baby.
My mommy noticed that the prices were a bit high but she found a couple things she liked for me to have. She was smiling because she got a 10% discount by checking in to Unilocal!
The store is 3miles from the dog beach so we headed out into the sunset:)

I was here on October 12 for the Long Beach Marathon. I had time to kill, money to spend and nervous energy. I was basically a sitting duck for any store that happened to cross my path. I was looking to shop. So why did I leave this store empty handed?
Background: I have a dog that has bitten other dogs. I have been training her in new methods of obedience because she is smart, gets along with people of all ages, and even passed the Canine Good Citizen test once. It’s a very stressful issue and I’ve been through other methods that did not work. What has made a huge difference is a Sprenger collar.
So when I saw one at this store, I thought «cool!», picked one up and started adding other treats and things. Then a store employee saw me and went out of his way to tell me how a Sprenger collar is morally wrong, cruel, etc. He acted like I had not researched the collar or had been trained on how to use it. He did everything he could to talk me out of buying it. He did a great job – I didn’t buy anything from the store.
If you are selling an item, you should be prepared to have customers purchase it. If you are uncomfortable selling this type of collar perhaps you should not stock it in your store and force customers to defend their right to train their dogs. Just a thought.

I really like this store! It was quite easy to find and we parked on the street for about 25 cents in the meter.
The man working there was very welcoming and knowledgeable about the products we were interested in. I ended up buying a Wacky Walk’r after asking some questions of him and a customer who came in with his dog using the same leash! I like it so far with my little Yorkie as he is a puller and this definitely helps!
Also got a lamb hock for him which he enjoyed.

went here to buy a birthday cake for my little princess lily bear its alittle bit pricey but worth it. Also bought some dog food on sale, my boyfriend and I just picked up today this afternoon and the worker thats there is Ray. He is the nicest, most knowledgable person i met ever who knows what my cat & dog thinks it feel. He gave us a lot of tips & suggestion about feeding my cat & dog. check out this place! you won’t regret it. :) thanks again Ray.

I love this store, it’s a great addition to the neighborhood. I threw a party for my dog’s first birthday and they were so great. I worked with Amanda and she did a great job arranging everything. What I appreciated the most was her attention to the little things that I wouldn’t have thought of that really add a touch of class to a party (even though all the guests are quadrupeds).
I love getting my dog different color Buddy Belts, he’s got 3 now and I love stopping in to see what new colors they have. I mean, who wants to wear the same thing everyday?
Brandon, the manager is really nice and very knowledgeable about the food, he helped me pick out the best food for my dog and cat. They love it and they’re very healthy. Thanks guys!

This place is great. They probably have the best selection of high quality pet accessories in Long Beach. On top of that, the people who work there are really friendly and helpful. My dog LOVES the Pawbar food, and for his birthday, they sent us home with a little extra to make his night extra special.
We also had him bathed there once, and he came home smelling fresh with a cool bandana around his neck.
They are friendly with all dogs of all sizes, which is important to me. Some places really cater just to small dogs, but Pussy & Pooch doesn’t play favorites!
