Decided to come here on a whim. Saw others pics of mac n cheese and was sold. Their beers are derlicious!!! The Asiago artochoke & crab dip is a MUST have. As well as the chicken mac n cheese. Coming back for brews and dip. So many things on the menu I will have to come back for everything

Have been wanting to try out the beers here for a while. I came here around 12am and the manager was amazing! I believe his name was Chris, I was stuck on whether I should try the rock bottom beer or Citra IPA, Chris offered me a taste from both beers and I was able to make up my mind, awesome vibe from the place. I wanted to find a place where you can relax and not be bothered by creepy guys and I believe this place was perfect for that. I will definitely come back again.

I’ve been here before and food is delicious. I usually love the service and atmosphere. But I was there on a Saturday night in the patio self seating area and our server was just preoccupied and out of it. She was forgetful, never brought me things I asked for, took forever to bring our drink and was just checked out. She served us and never gave us utensils. And yes took us forever to our utensils. Highly disappointed and she didn’t apologize nor seemed like she cared. I wish I’d say I come here again but I doubt it. There are so many other choices in that area.

Before you read any further, this review is JUST for an appetizer, beer and our experience here. If you want to know anything about the other food, I suggest you look at another review. My fiancé and I came here after a day at the Queen Mary Ship and we were tired and hungry. I wanted nachos and he loves brew so we came here. When we walked in there were like 5 people at the podium and one of them asked how many would be dining. Before hearing our answer, someone asked him a question and he talked to him for a couple minutes. Hello? Are we not here? That annoyed me a bit, but I was starving, so I let it go and he eventually sat us down. Our server was attentive at first, but she must’ve been busy that day because it was really hard to get ahold of her when we needed her the rest of the time. Jacob ordered a dark stout beer and we also ordered the brewery nachos with chicken and pretzel bites with chorizo inside it. The beer was top notch. I’m not a big fan of beer, but I could tell that the stout my fiancé got had a very good flavor to it, and it was affordable: 5 stars. We waited a very long time for the food, but that didn’t bug me so much. We got the food and it was kinda underwhelming. The pretzel bites were very small and I think we got 6 tiny pieces with a drop of meat in each one. It also made me feel gassy afterwards, so 3 stars. Maybe I’ve been spoiled too much by the ginormous portions and overflowing toppings that Cheesecake Factory has for their factory nachos because when I got our nachos I was disappointed. The chips were hard and not very crispy, which makes me think they were a little stale, and they seemed to be very stringent on toppings. We ran out of salsa halfway through eating the nachos that we had to wait a bit until the waitress came by to get more. The food tasted good, but not great, especially for the price. Maybe we’ll come back again for the beer, but I’d rather go to the Dog Haus close by to get some better food.

This place is OK as the 3 star rating says A-OK They have a decent brew selection and good happy hour prices, However the regular menu serving sizes I feel are small, you don’t get a lot for your buck, the patio seating is noisy with all the traffic on Ocean Blvd and Pine street but you can usually get some good people watching. I come here because it is close to my home and I like the beer but I feel Rock Bottom Brewery is just another typical chain restaurant with American faire and some Micro Brew, its a good place to go with some friends, catch a buzz and get loud for an hour.

First time here, we were taking a long weekend and ended up in Long Beach from AZ. We got in late and found Rock Bottom just a few blocks from our hotel. We got seated right away and our waitress was at our table in about 5 minutes. She did introduced herself and asked us if we had any questions about the menu. Food was good and my husbands enjoyed his beer. I was really tired so I don’t think it is fair of me to really give a long review. I give this restaurant four stars because the food was good, service was polite and fast and per my husband beer was good.

All we ordered was beer, a mixed drink, and the ball park pretzels. Based on those few things and the cheese dip. It was good. No complaints. The waitress wasn’t very knowledgeable about the drinks/beers they had available, but that was okay. Lack of star was because nothing really stood out to me to make me want to come back.

Tonight was my second time here. First time I came was a good experience, despite the long wait, food was delicious. My boyfriend and I planned to have dinner here tonight, we came in at around 8pm and patiently waited to get our menus. After a couple of minutes the server(short brunette, possibly late 20’s-early 30’s) came to our table and asked if we needed menus, she then came and set the menus on the table without a word or eye contact and walked off. They were pretty busy which made the short talk understandable. She came back minutes later and I started giving her my order, I ordered my drinks, appetizers and I was going to order my main dish as well until she just suddenly walked off again. I was really shocked this time because she didn’t ask«would that be all?» Or even said«I’ll be right back» she literally just walked off. Like I mentioned before, we are very patient and both, my boyfriend and I have worked as server which is why we try to be understandable. There were 2 young white girls sitting in the table next to us, she greeted them so nicely, even shook their hands. They were laughing and talking. This was the deal breaker for us. She made us feel very disrespected and humiliated. We are young and Hispanic, we have no idea if that was the cause for her actions and attitude. We decided to walk out of there before our food even came out. We went to CPK and the service was so much better, tipped our server $ 30 for making us feel so welcomed. Even though there is delicious food here, we refuse to go back to a restaurant where customer are not treated equally.

Stopped by the night after seeing a packed house. It was a bit after the lunch rush on Saturday. Beer selection was good, but the main reason for just the 3 stars was the lack food per order. Got the nachos to share based on the recommendation of the server. Basically it’s served on parchment paper and spread across severing board. It was probably only 2 – 3 nachos deep meaning 2 or 3 nachos before hitting the parchment paper. Not to mentioned the toppings were as sparse as the nachos. Pretty disappointing. We also had the pizza to share and it’s pretty much the same. Thin layer of sauce and even thinner layer of cheese. The flavor swerve decent but not worth it! The ROI on these two items must be pretty nice!

Their beer is an easy five stars, their food is barely two stars.(2+5) /2 rounded down(for the«barely») is three stars… So ya, great beer, lousy food. Is this place worth coming to? If you are coming for the beer, then definitely — in fact, you would be stupid not to come by just for their beer. But if you are in need of food, then no, this is not the droid you are looking for. There are plenty of good places to grab a bite in the downtown area, it would be a shame to waste a meal here. $ 9 growler refills on Thursday! And regular price is $ 12, which is still a great deal. The service… you know, I wouldn’t blame it entirely on «entitled», unskilled laborers that think they are special(although there is plenty of that going on here), but more on the management. This place is usually understaffed, and from what I can see, the management doesn’t care too much about the place(especially the restaurant portion). But that said, there is definitely a bit of «I’m doing you a favor by serving you» attitude in this restaurant — Chris I’m looking at you(punk). While at the same time there are some excellent servers and bartenders here as well(I’ll try to edit this with some names). So maybe it just matters who you get. Anyway — just to repeat, for sure come here for their beer. If you are new to the Rock Bottom then you want to order their beer sampler. If you don’t want that sort of experience, then order their red, or their dark(the imperial stout is always a good choice). You can also request a single sampler if you just want to try one beer first. Okay, time for a beer!

No. Just no. They’re your basic over priced chain. Bad service, expensive parking, mediocre food, with cheap but O. K beer and brews. A) The very friendly yet slightly off front desk concierge seated us at a dirty table. Yes, there were clean ones, but insisted we sit and«then I will clean the table». B) Our waiter legitimately refused to take out orders at the same time as one friend was in the restroom, so NOTHING got here at the same time. C) Pretty sure he walked passed us 10 times before asking if we needed anything. D) CRAZY attitude problem with our server. Not sure if it was an off night or not, or just a backwards way of being friendly? E) We asked for our checks 15 minutes ago, he JUST strolled over to the register to get it for us. He’s maybe covering 3 tables. Sigh. I mean, I didn’t have high hopes to begin with, but… Sigh.

Love love love this place. I’ve tried their burgers, pizza, nachos, wings, pretzel bites and a few other appetizers. Everything I order here is delicious. I especially like their Hef. Refreshing and goes great with just about anything. I like that they have great booze and good meals for the kids too. Very affordable as well. Do yourself a favor and try a beer flight!

Rockbottom is been around for a long time and it’s clear to see why as they have an extensive menu, good prices, good quality and they are solid with being able to manage small and large groups with consistency and efficiency.

So my buddy and I walk in to Rock Bottom again. Testing out our luck here again on a late Monday evening. Only one side of the restaurant was open to sit in and spots were limited. My buddy then proceeds to ask an off duty worker if we can sit in the booth she’s sitting in as it there really isn’t anywhere else. She looked at him like he had six heads and proceeded to point at another booth several feet away. Only issue with the booth she pointed at was how dirty it was. With fresh guacamole and dirty dishes still on the table. Seeing what was going on another server who turned out to be our server for the rest of the night(awkward) stepped in to defend her. She was rude as always and told us to sit at the dirty table Lucky Us. Fun little facts for the rest of the night: 1. She asked him if he ever worked in a restaurant before 2. We watched her walk by our crab nachos and bites that were in the window 4 times.

I am not a Long Beach local and after a show at the Performance Art Center across the street we Unilocaled for a place to eat after 10pm and came here. We were excited because we were hungry so we speed walked over. Ok, so we walk in and great no wait! The hostess didn’t look so happy anymore and I entered a confused state of mind because I wasn’t sure if we were suppose to go find a place to sit or if she was going to walk us to our table. Anyway, we were seated and our waiter came by shortly after. We placed our orders right away. I ordered the portobello mushroom burger and my boyfriend order the fish and chips substituting the coleslaw with mac n cheese. I was hungry so I inhaled my burger and realized it was missing more flavor to it but overall it was ok. The fries were not fresh and you could tell they were drenched in grease. My boyfriend said the fish was good and the served brought out the coleslaw but quickly got the mac n cheese. He said it was ok a bit on the spicy side which is not his preference but he still had it. The restaurant/bar had a handful of people spread out throughout the entire establishment. The TVs and music are located at the bar and not throughout the entire restaurant. So we felt like the people at the tables were more isolated to themselves. My tip: go during the day maybe it’s different? Don’t go because you think it’s your last resort if you aren’t a local.

It has been some time since I’ve hit this Rock Bottom. My latest experience still included good beer but they refurbished inside(somewhat) and the place looks and feels super clean, not that it was ever dirty, it’s just very modern. To quote my wife, «this is such a clean/modern brewery.» In any event, the service was very good. We had Stephanie who was everything you would want in a server, friendly, fast, and constantly checking to ensure our table was happy, we were! I do like the beer here, I will caution aficionados, the selections are not super creative, rather their version of familiar beers. I enjoyed my beer sampler, it truly gave a wide range of beer options. The food was all very good, my wife LOVED her Maker’s Mark Burger with blue cheese — so did I, I stole a few bites. My Southwest Turkey Burger was also bustling with flavor and super moist. The burgers come with fresh toppings and a choice of a side, I went with the apple coleslaw, which was also good. Thanks again Stephanie, we enjoyed our visit, see you again soon.

Beer was ok. Was given the wrong order and they wont take it back. Waste of 13 $. Service is pretty terrible, they need to pick it up and make a better impression, especially with this being my first time visiting the place. ****after speaking with the manager, he fixed my issue and comped my food****

I’ve been here a few times now for dinner. Typically on Sundays I’ve sat in the bar area to watch football. I love that they flag which tvs are playing what games. They have a large menu with lots of tasteful options. Full bar, plenty of tvs and seating indoors and out. It is a little tight in the bar area and sadly no hooks to hang a purse anywhere. All of the waitresses I have had have been nice and attentive. I believe I’ve seen the manager there a few times as well checking in with customers. I usually order the chopped BBQ chicken salad. 3 of the 4 times I ordered it, they forgot to put the avocado in it. Not sure why that always happens and its never fun addressing stuff like that. It is very good though. I’ve also tried their burgers and nachos, delicious. I will definitely continue coming here. :)

Rock Bottom? Hmm… sounds catchy, the name, right? Quite the gem I had the pleasure of trying during my foodie adventures. I cannot say I have tried everything here. The best I have had here however, is their $ 6 beer sampler. It is beer that they brew here! Beware, as the darker the beer gets, the stronger it may get on you. I have had their brewed nachos, which come piled high with cheese, beans, jalapeño slices and chicken upon request. Their menu boasts quite the options. One of my favorite dishes I have had here is the Diablo pizza. Oh yeah, their Arnold Palmer is also quite refreshing. Located right the heart of Downtown Long Beach on the corner of Ocean Blvd and Pine Ave, parking is available in the streets, if you’re lucky to find some. There are also parking lots around the area that can provide such services. Lots of TV’s inside for your sports viewing pleasure. I would highly recommend their $ 6 beer sampler. Trust me, you will not be disappointed.

My friends and I came here after running the Long Beach Marathon to eat some lunch and watch some NFL games. The place was packed, but they were able to seat us right away in a booth. I had their sliders and a couple of beers. *25 oz mug of Moonlight Porter* I started things off with a big 25 oz mug of their Moonlight Porter. Not bad if you like a chocolate, coffee, and malty beer. *Jack-stuffed burger sliders double up* This was okay, but not really worth it for the price. I would just get one of their burgers instead of doubling up. *Citra Swell IPA* If you prefer a citrus/grapefruit IPA, this would be it. It was not overly bitter for an IPA. Overall this was a decent place to get some drinks and watch a game, but I wasn’t too impressed with their food. Service was great even though it was super busy! I think next time we will go some place else and have this place as a back up restaurant for our post marathon refueling.
