I was so excited to find this hidden gem in Long Beach. I’m relatively new to the area and have been looking for good pizza. We visited Sorrentos based on all the positive Unilocal reviews and they certainly didn’t disappoint. We ordered a pizza with sausage and mushrooms. The ingredients were super fresh and the pizza was delicious. Note– pizza is not sold by the slice here and each pie is made to order, so you do have to wait a bit for your food. While waiting for our pizza, we were given multiple Italian cookies to try. We bought half a pound to take home and they were fresh and tasty too! Will definitely be coming back soon!

This is what you expect when you order a pizza from a real«Italian» pizza joint. Know what you want before you order and get online, be nice, have a sense of humor. Most of all, get there before 5. Otherwise they run out of dough. One side of the place is a meat market with a wide selection of Italian ingredients. From frozen ravioli, to pasta, to prepared foods etc. The other side is a wood fired oven pizza joint. Most of the ingredients come from the meat market. My favorite is a pizza with ricotta and pepperoni. You pick yours. Just no «fancy ingredients» like pineapple or figs. There are some exotic ones like truffle oil or zucchini. If you want pizza in the area. Go for it! Worth the trip. Eat in or take out.

Pizza is ridiculous but service was even better. Went today to pick up a pie and Anthony, who was making my delicious pepperoni pie, made a cappuccino for me while I waited without me even asking. We talked for 10 minutes and it made the trip from the Rockaways worth it in the snow. Was such a pleasant experience I had to give them 5 stars and Unilocal it.

Went today for lunch — — the food was really fresh and delicious — we shared an amazing salad — plenty to eat for two and then had a pizza with eggplant and prosciutto — it was perfect!!! Glass of wine to top it off and fun service — — loved it and already thinking about the toppings I will have when i go back!

Fine fine place, the pizza is excellent, dude who works behind pizza counter is one of the friendliest people you’ll ever meet, really goes out of his way to make sure you enjoy your meal. Its a tiny place but its a great place to bring a bottle of wine and eat some quality food. Not as familar with the meat market/deli side but from the look of it they do a nice job as well.

As good as it gets for authentic brick oven pizza and salad that is unreal. great community vibe. family owned and run. god bless and long live sorrento’s. get there early or they run out of dough and pizza is done for the day. anyone who complains of that i guess doesnt realise this is owned and run by the same people who open and close the door daily, and when its time to close its time to close. just get there early and you will be happy you did.

OMG what a sadwich. I had a hero for a party and they made a chicken cutlet with fresh Mozzarella on it and this may have been the best sandwich i have ever had. The cutlet was perfect and the mozzerella was not a mere sliver, but a huge, soft tasty chunk. I loved it. May have been the best sandwich of the type i have ever tasted. Definitely the best cheese. I highly recommend them for the party hero’s. It is expensive, but worth it if you want rave talk about the food.

You want to go get food from a store with personality… this is the spot. The people here are amazing. The pizza is great, many think it gold. No delivery, No call. You get this prize at the counter only. I love that they run out of dough and have a sign letting you know that you missed the boat to flavortown. Even better is when the spicy latina woman behind the pizza counter whips out the«no dough left» sign for her«favorite» customers when they start in with their antics. She has a special place in this married mans heart lol. The old man behind the counter always cuts me a piece of something delicious, that he himself is usually snacking on… Best yet is when i asked for a hero, latino master deli man told me i want a half a hero… wait, me? A half a hero… come on guy… nahhhhh. Then he pulled out a whole hero must be like 3ft and $ 35 sandwich lmao. This guy right here orders a half a sandwich… its hysterical to me how massive it is. Younger man hands me an almond cookie and makes me a double esspresso all for free while i wait for my behemoth half a sandwich which is ALWAYS masterfully prepared. In short, Ive lived in alot of towns all over new york. The local italian deli should have a look, feel of family. This place nails it for me every time. See you again soon, and never soon enough.

this is not the place u go to for extra attentive service — but the food is outrageously delicious — and worth the wait. Thus, not 5 star service, but 5 star pizza. Suggest the truffle oil as an additive to any pie.

Every time I remember this place they are always closed. Finally made it in tonight. So glad that I did. The Owner was so personable and helpful. I told him I wanted a large because I was picking my brother up from the airport after and wanted to bring him some. He told me it was a lot of food and was suggesting a smaller size. That was very nice of him not to just say get a bigger size because it cost more. I still went with the large because even though I am little I can eat a lot of pizza. After I was finished he put the rest of the pizza nicely in a box and gave me two free cookies for my brother and I. I had a very pleasant dinner not just because the pizza was delicious but because the owner takes pride in his restaurant and makes it a great experience for his customers.

Walked in on a chance, felt like I won the lotto. The owner is friendly and personable. We shared the salad and a small pizza(16 pieces), who knew? True wood fired oven and great service. Many locals are known by name which should tell you about the place and the owner. Don’t miss this place if you’re in Long Beach.

I have had the pizza which I feel is one of the best on Long Island. Wood fired which is hard to come by. I have also had a salad which was fresh and delicious. Some of the best hospitality around.

Brooklyn girl born and raised, and I’ve been to Italy more times than I’ve been to Manhattan. If anyone who wasn’t born in Italy knows a good pizza, it’s probably me. My boyfriend and I ordered a pie with ricotta, prosciutto and truffle oil, well, because we are smart gastronomes. ***Mind. Blown*** I would sell this place to you hard, but the truth is, I don’t want you going and mucking it up, or making the waiting line longer. Sahreeeee. Be nice to the lady in the front and she will be nice to you. That’s how real life works anyway, so this shouldn’t be too hard. Enjoy

My husband and I live in Manhattan, we went with some friends on a day trip to Long Beach and stopped by here for lunch before we hit the beach. Just as an FYI, Sorrento’s opens at 9am and has an array of food/dessert, however, if you’re going for pizza, they don’t start making it until 12pm. The large pizza would have fed all 6 of us, but because one of our friends is a vegetarian, we got one Large Prosciutto Mushroom and Basil Pizza and one Small Margarita Pizza small pizza, it was A LOT of food for 6 people! Ingredients tasted so fresh and delicious. The Mozzarella cheese is SOOGOOD! I wish I bought some to take home! In addition, the service here is amazing, staff is soooo friendly and nice. Very helpful and attentive. This place is BYOB — they have a small corkage fee of $ 5. Loved our food, we sat and ate for a long time and never felt rushed. Would definitely like to come back here again one day soon!

Well earned 4 stars. We had a margherita pizza and it was really good. The pizza was made in a brick oven with the ingredients you liked. Simple and delicious The staff wad interesting as well I was a bit disappointed that I couldn’t get a seafood place in the area, but this was a solid alternative

Sorrento’s! So thoroughly impressed! Definitely frequenting this place after a day at the beach. I mean, what is more glorious than a table-long pizza? Nothing! Made to order with the freshest ingredients, Sorrento’s is top notch. You can just smell the basil being thrown on right there and then. What’s great is that there’s an Italian deli right in the store! It took about 20 minutes for the pizza to come out, so we ordered the Sorrento salad and damn was it good! Fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers and rich balsamic dressing on a bed of romaine. Mmmm am I in Italy?! Befhe guy grated fresh Parmesan right over our pizza and my oh my I just died and went to pizza heaven. And I love the woman at the front! She adds such a welcoming touch with her jokes and sass. Definitely obsessed!

How happy I am that I found this place! This place has both — «Old school«type pork store/butcher shop(for those necessities for the grill) & a new, «trendy», brick oven bistro flare as well(the pizza is delicious). Prices are very good for the great quality meat & cheeses that you can buy here. Service is even better, the owner, Anthony always wants to make conversation. If you’re in the area — come check it out !!
