As is with all chains — good location, crappy service. This Starbucks has parking. That’s why I come here. For no other reason than parking and coffee. The service is slow. The inside is small. They offer no seating just standing room. There’s no music. I’m sure they have a restroom somewhere but I didn’t see it. They were out of coconut milk. Ugh. Coffee tasted burnt. Definitely not the best cup of joe I have had. I may be back, if I get desperate and can’t find parking at one of the other local coffee spots. Otherwise, meh.

I’m not a coffee guy, but I love breakfast foods = this review is food only. Ever since Fresh ‘N Easy closed, I’ve been having to look further and further afield for a really good egg salad sandwich. Subway doesn’t make one for some reason. Togo’s next door does, but it is the only location in DTLB, and my office is clear across the CBD, right next to the bridge. So I looked up Starbucks(surprisingly gourmet) menu online, planned to walk through each of the 5 or 6DTLB Starbucks to see what their selections were like, and ended up splurging on all of this: Egg Salad Sandwich: 4⁄5 Other than the bread, better than Fresh ‘N Easy’s sandwich. You can’t mess up an egg salad filling, and Starbucks certainly doesn’t. What makes it is the butter lettuce(or some other kind of fancy greens) they put in with the filling. Half-point off for being too small, and another half-point for unnecessarily dry bread(would’ve been epic with whatever F & E’s source used) Michigan Cherry Oat Bar: 4.5÷5 Actually tastes like Fresh cherries. Not overly sweet(took off a half-point for being a bit too sweet though.) Rich, buttery crumble/“crust”. Reduced-Fat Turkey Bacon/Egg White breakfast sandwich: 4⁄5 Not as dry as I expected. In fact, the perfect balance of richness/moisture/heartiness for my somewhat health-oriented taste. Don’t need to hoard those Carl’s Jr breakfast coupons anymore(only other place you can get whole wheat buns)! Egg and Cheddar breakfast sandwich: 4.5÷5 Richer than the turkey sandwich, and flavor dominated by perfectly-buttered wheat bread(- if done right — one of the best flavors anywhere according to many chefs) Might be my go-to for breakfast If I’ve been walking to the bus that week. Half-point off for lacking a protein. Whole Wheat Spinach Croissant/Turnover: 5⁄5 This is the kind of item that I assume sounds disgusting to 9⁄10 people. It would’ve to me too, before I discovered how to eat right. Needless to say, you need to TRY it. Rich, buttery croissant flavor(fluffier, yet not as puffed-up as most others we’ve all had,) and then the filling is a blend of melted cheese and spinach/greens almost offsetting the decadence of the dough. Overall: 4.5÷5, and I’ll round up since this is in the part of the hood right next to DTLB, and [considering its apparent travails with street people/wanna-be gangbangers taking up all their chairs — they ended up taking all the seating out a :(] needs all the help it can get. I may be going back to Starbucks Much more than I used to(the hipster/trendy vibe put me off when it first started) after experiencing the quality of this handful of breakfast/lunch/snack items.

Not only is this location poor on service they over charge as well. I was standing in line when a guy comes out of nowhere, and pays for his food. I looked at Phil, the cashier and he continues, then leaves. He didn’t say«oh, I’m sorry about that» After that another worker took my order and charge me an extra $ 1.10 to my order for added sweetener. Wow! Really?! This place is a joke and will never get another dime from me!

Friendly service, decent drink consistency and plenty of parking. However, where this Starbucks falls short is in its lack of seating– like«zero» seats! I understand that it’s in the city and by a bus stop, so security and loitering can be a problem, but removing all of the seats is not a good solution. With proactive security, clear guidelines on bringing in outside food, etc… this Starbucks could have seating and feel a bit more like a «community» gathering place and less like a «coffee-truck-building-hybrid». Having lived in DC, Bmore, NYC, etc all major metropolis cities that have managed to have Starbucks locations with seats– I can say with confidence LBC can too!

While I believe Starbucks Coffee is one of the better corporations, I was taken back by removal of the tables and chairs. I get that the location is not in the best area, but there’s tables and chairs at your location in Belmont Shore; and while the customer maybe on a higher income scale, they are people. Same as the people at this location. We want to have a seat and sip coffee. Please reconsider bring back the sitting area.

I wanted to updated my review along with the new renovations to the lounge area. Before when you would walk in every seat was taken by transients and trouble makers. Now with the new update the area seems cleaner and somehow calmer. I’ll be going here again after a long hiatus.

Whenever I am nearby Downtown Long Beach, this has to be the Starbucks I’ll visit. Yes, the location is not by far the best, as you’ll see homeless frequenting outside. Hey, they don’t mean no harm! Located right in a shopping center that houses so much, such as CVS, El Super and Baskin Robbins, this Starbucks is small in size with a few tables inside. Nonetheless, I have always had exceptional service here. No complaints whatsoever. Well, at least their parking lot is huge, as it shares it with other businesses.

This store is never too busy so thats good but the competency could use some love. I ordered a tall green tea with with 2 honey packets, i got no honey. How do you mess that up?!(This is not the first time either other wise i would have let it go) i dont mind putting it in myself if their cream bar was stocked. I also saw that the the other baristas were doing their taks while mine was tending to my tea but like other reviews, there was no sense of urgency to take orders of those behind me, i used to work for this company and wore my black apron proudly but now it seems to be on par with any other fast food chain. If you dont want your order messed up maybe try a different one?

Absolutely no sense of urgency here. Lines are long and employees chill and talk to one another.

Stop by here because of the convenience. Big mistake this place reminds me why I drive 2 miles away. They are slow, unfocused, and luke warm in the friendly department. This is why I stay away.

This is my go to Starbucks! Great customer service they give great recommendations if you want to try something new! Big parking lot! They only reason why I give it a 4 is because they should have more staff it is on LB Blvd very busy street! Other than that I love coffee

How ghetto could a starbucks be in the middle of a city filled with a bunch of crazy Crack heads… Not that ghetto I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in, everyone very nice clean cut, the store was well stocked… And they made my drink right! Always a bonus.

Being a coffee lover i’ve been to many Starbucks. This Starbucks is like any other one that i’ve been too but with really sweet workers. They were sweet and prompt with taking my order. I ordered a Soy caramel frappachino with extra caramel and no whip. They took my order with no problem and even double checked with me on the soy and whip crème when they made my drink. I thought that was nice of them especially since many starbucks that I’ve gone too will ignore my specific order and just make me the original one that they are used too.

Great service! Adrian was of so much help to my friend and I when suggesting what to have for breakfast. Didn’t wait long for our drinks long. One of the best Starbucks I’ve been to.

This location is always slow. The baristas specifically. There’s always a line for the cashier which goes by quickly. But waiting for your drink and food takes longer than other Starbucks locations I’ve been to. But it’s convenient and there is always parking available.

Ok, this Starbucks has been my go-to coffee stop in the morning for the last 10 years. It has improved quite a but since I reviewed it in 2008. I would prefer a bit more comfortable seating area, but with the Long Beach wildlife, I understand why they can’t do that. If I want a quick coffee and breakfast sandwich — this is it. And the drinks are fast and perfect. If I want to sit and read a paper — I’ll go to another coffee shop.

Service here is always crazy slow. I’m currently waiting for my iced coffee while watching one barista blend a dozen frappacinos. most Starbucks baristas can pump out a quick iced coffee while blending another drink, but at this one, it never happens. If there was another decent coffee place nearby my grandma’s place, I would go. Unfortunately, my grandma loves the pike roast, so I suffer here. 15 minutes for an iced coffee is ridiculous.

Nice employees … Other than that its DT Long Beach, you get the inner city experience, «gangsters» bums, crack heads, psychos. Everyone is mad at the world so make sure you don’t accidentally bump into anyone. People coming in off the metro and want to cop a squat. They had to close early because of all the rif raff. You got the brothers in there playing domino and talking loudly, outside , you have a group of «young»(and some not so young) knuckle heads who spend their time hanging out, sipping down the cheap vodka, and slap boxing… That says it all. …but on another note, it’s a great place for a individual to study, gain motivation to achieve and leave such degradation.
