Love eating at this best when I go to the VA. The breakfast is fabulous and there lunch is just as good. I recommend the B&G and the tuna sandwich with abolniga soup!

We love this place! There’s a group of 8 – 10 of us that have lunch here on Sundays. The food is great and they have a good selection. The waitstaff is out of this world! Jeff, Tina and Ana help us routinely and they are a delight! Jeff is always ONIT when it comes to drinks :) Prices are $ 10-$ 15 per person. I highly recommend!

We got tired of the same old same old and did not want to leave our dog in the car. Perfect solution! While there is indoor dining we like eating on the patio with the pooch. The food is good(try the blueberry pancakes!) and the prices are reasonable. Jeff is great about delivering our drinks… before they are empty! A lot of places don’t do that any more. We’ll be coming here for a long time. Drop by and say hello to Layla, a white husky/shepherd mix. She’s a sweetheart :)

Went to visit a few friends and the locals recommended we come here if it wasn’t too busy. Gave them a quick call and headed over. There was a short wait because we wanted to sit outside in the patio area, but also wanted to stay out of the sun because it was way too hot. The staff was very friendly and helped to get us seated quickly. They have a good selection of your classic breakfast and brunch items, and there’s also sandwiches, burgers, salads, pancakes and waffles. I opted for their California Benedict, which is eggs benedict topped with bacon and avocado. I was disappointed that they didn’t have a smoked salmon benedict. You get to pick from a variety of sides with your dish, and I went with fresh fruit. My friends got the waffles and the hickory and basic burgers. I didn’t try those dishes but everyone seemed very happy with their choices. I really wanted to give this 4 stars because the staff was so nice and attentive without being annoying or overbearing, as well as hilarious. However, I had some gripes about my benedict. The English muffin was a bit chewy and hard to cut through, the eggs were overcooked, approaching a soft boil and not the perfect runny yolk that you look for in a poached egg. I only got 1 piece of avocado and there wasn’t enough bacon for my liking. The bacon could’ve been crispier as well. Overall, I definitely enjoyed this place and would come back for more of their offerings.

Love the food! Love the service! Parking’s not a problem. This is definitely a great local spot. Only my second time here and I love their corned beef hash. Going to try pancakes and biscuit and gravy this time. Coffee is also good served with flavored creamers which is the way I like it.

Amazing! Had the farmer’s breakfast for 9.95 and could barely finish it. Wife and daughter had the pancake combo’s and neither finished. You get two pancakes and they are dinner plate sized. The home fries were unbelievable. Look like a burrito with a mix of sizes but each side is panfried so it is one solid piece. Awesome! Would highly recommend. Good uniqueness and value.

I just went here for my birthday breakfast and I was blown away! The food was delicious and the service was amazing! My husband ordered the hungry man plate which filled him up. It came with Two delicious buttermilk pancakes(waffle or French toast), 3 eggs, your choice of 4 strips of bacon, ham or sausage, with potatoes! I ordered the Popeye omelet, which was also delicious! It had jack cheese, spinach, onions, green onions and mushrooms that I substituted for tomatoes, and potatoes that I upgraded to spuds(has avocado, cheese and sour cream) — so good! And choice of toast, tortillas or I believe muffin. I chose sourdough toast and it came with what tasted like homemade strawberry jam, very delicious! We were very impressed with the friendly and welcoming service and the delicious food! We are definitely coming back soon!

I absolutely love this place! Initially discovered Local Spot after being tired of long waits at Schooner or Later, Hoff’s Hut, etc. I can often times come here on Saturday or Sunday morning with no wait. This is more of your typical, standard, «greasy spoon» breakfast food, which I like. If you want something fancy, gourmet. or creative, go over to Starling Diner and drink their cucumber-flavored water. I’ll stick with the good, normal stuff here. The food is always great. I typically get the«Hungry Man» which comes with eggs, bacon, potatoes and french toast. Super delicious and very filling! The service is quite good. Drinks are delivered quickly and they are on top of the coffee refills. Wish I would have found this place sooner.

Straight up great home style cooking here. Love the California Benedict but I sub sourdough for the English muffin. Biscuits and gravy are like a meal in itself.

I tend to go to this place for a to go breakfast because it is so close. However, they always charge me differently each time I go. Today, I ordered eggs and bacon. Their online menu shows it was $ 6.95. However, when I showed up they charged me $ 9.95. I don’t mind the price but I like to know what paying for. Other than that it’s convenient and the breakfast is very basic for a lazy day weekend.

The family wanted to try a new breakfast spot… and we are very happy we picked this one. My boy didn’t want to share his biscuits and gravy with me… I was lucky to get a bite of my other son’s chorizo mix special… and the hubby enjoyed his Captain Crunch French toast. Great service, great food, and great prices. We’ll definitely be back.

This place is soooooo GOOD! As a family we were trying to go to Schooner and Laters but didn’t want to wait 2 hours. We found this place on Unilocal and was so happy to find it. The portions are HUGE! and taste DELICIOUS! I strongly recommend going here for breakfast/brunch. They do not serve alcohol if you’re looking for a Bloody Mary or Mimosa but the food it great! Our waiters Sam and Tina were awesome and fun. You won’t regret coming Herr.

I LOVE this place!!! Simple food prepared and seasoned so well! Portions are big and I always leave here feeling satisfied! Their biscuit and gravy side is a MUST try! Two big pieces of fluffy, warm biscuits with delicious gravy!!! Also, staff gets an A+ on customer service! Will definitely continue to come back! :) :) :)

Wow first off Tina and Sam aka team biscuit are such great energy it really made the meal and experience the 5 star. I ordered the farmers choice which was a bed of homefries layerd with corned beef instead of sausage n ham topped woth 2 eggs cooked to your order and covered in eanchero sauce n cheese, and nothing was too ovwrwhleming or slathered and by golly that was the best dam decision I could have made and I think personally should be a standard on the menu. My brother had the hobo scramble and I think mine was way better but it filled him up just as well. I would definitely come back here and would probably order the same thing! The out side patio is perfect for a breezy sunny day. A+ overall

This place was decent. The food wasn’t anything special that stood out from other local breakfast places but the prices were good. We sat inside which could use a good cleaning. It looked like it needed to be mopped and the window seals needed to be wiped down. But the table and all the utensils we were given were clean. I liked that they had trivia cards on the table for entertainment until I realized how old they were and how many people might have touched them. They should consider laminating them or replacing them with new ones to keep things sanitary. The service was great. I felt like the people we interacted with liked their job and they were friendly and genuine. I’d go back. We ordered: banana pancakes and bacon breakfast burrito

This«local spot» really hits the spot for breakfast. I haven’t had the opportunity to try their lunch because breakfast there is too alluring! The pancakes are delicious and if you’re a fan of bananas, I suggest trying the banana pancakes… Wasn’t there a song about that?! The staff is friendly and they’re dog friendly on the patio too! I suggest the avocado, bacon and cheddar and getting a side of feta heightens the deliciousness. What can I say, I love cheese! The house potatoes are perfectly cooked and keep the coffee coming. There’s so much to choose from, I may need to come more often than I should to say I did the whole menu. Everyone has their own experiences, but the times I have been there, I’m never disappointed. Good eats and cheers!

We didn’t like the hostess the morning we came here. We came in and didn’t’ get cheery morning diner service that I would want to have for a weekend breakfast. Plus I felt like the vibe was just weird. Maybe she woke up on the wrong side of the bed, but not a good way to start off a first experience at a new place. We asked for a high chair and wasn’t able to sit inside because it was supposedly a fire hazard. Then we sat outside and the hostess said there wasn’t any left. Why didn’t you say that in the first place? Weird. The food is stuff I could have made at home, which is typical of breakfast, but I just didn’t feel like there was anything special to the menu. Our actual waitress was very nice, but I think we already had a strange vibe from the hostess that sat us. She got us a high chair as soon as one was available. I hope she didn’t have to share her tip with the hostess. With all the amazing places in Long Beach for breakfast, we won’t be back here. I mean maybe if nothing else was open, but its just not my preference.

Our meal was alright. We came a little before closing maybe 20 minutes. I apologize to the workers now for doing that though. I know it sucks when people come in almost last minute and order food. Nonetheless the service was still okay. Two of us got the eggs Benedict(the California one) which came with bacon and avocado. I was starving but it tasted just alright. I wasn’t amazed nor displeased. I got it with the home style potatoes with the Benedict and that was just okay too. I don’t know how else to put it. My experience here and the food was just okay. However on the down side my friend and I both felt bad after eating the food here. We both thought it was the eggs. Don’t think I’ll be back.

Location: On the corner of PCH and Loynes in LB, this little breakfast/lunch spot is a little hard to find actually. It’s relatively small and actually shares a building with First Bank. The Local Spot is on the parking lot side, while the bank faces PCH. And yes, there is a parking lot so no issues if you drive there. Service: On a holiday morning we were expecting at least a little bit of a wait, but turnover was pretty quick! When we put our name in there were 4 parties of 2 ahead of us but we got seated in about 10 minutes. Nice. The patio was almost all covered in shade and we requested a table in the shade. If you wanted to sit in the sun, I don’t think there was any wait at all actually. They brought us our waters very quickly and a waitress was out to take our order in about 5 – 6 minutes. Again, nice. Food came out in about another 5 – 6 minutes and looked delicious. They kept our water glasses full and the waitress checked on us a few times. All in all nice experience. Food: I decided to try the granola almond blueberry banana pancakes. I love things that have texture contrast so the thought the crunchy granola with the soft fruit sounded delicious to me. And so it was. One order comes with two HUGE, dense pancakes. Loved it. The only thing missing was I kind of wish it had like a strawberry syrup or something. My husband tried the aloha omelette — he was less impressed with the omelette but almost had a heart attack over the size of the SIDEORDER of biscuits and gravy that came with it. It was pretty much a meal in and of itself. He probably would have been happier with just a giant plate of that. He said the portuguese sausage in the omelette was okay, but nothing special. Overall: We were sorry we hadn’t tried this place sooner since its so close to where we live — we will definitely be back soon to try some of the other specialties. Great little place for a nice, outside breakfast/brunch.
