I loved eating here during my breaks and the alcohol selection is decent, but the last time I ate here I got food poisoning. I called to let them know and the girl was really nice and apologetic but I won’t be having their food anymore.

Honestly it’s always a good time eating here, especially after class. It’s a great place to kill time during breaks and the food is delicious. :)

I am a regular at the nugget. Many of my friends are regulars as we have a whole section that we like to order food and hangout in. Week in week out we are here and are also very satisfied with what we are serviced. I am writing this review due to the manger Margie. I feel infuriated with the treatment I received from this woman who was rude, inconsiderate, and ultimately unprofessional on her conduct. I came in as I normally do, however I came in early as my favorite soccer team was playing and I knew that if I got early I could be afforded the luxury of watching them play. I talked to the man who normally changes the channel and he was kind enough to tune it to what it was on. 25 min in and I see the channel changing, so naturally I jumped up to go and say there’s a mistake. I got here and hour early to reserve watching. When I talked to «Margie» about what was transpiring, she bluntly stated that others wanted it changed and that it was going to happen. When I told her how early I got here to watch and reserve she simply put her hands up and scuttled away. She would not discuss this nor give me the time to find an alternative. I have never been so disappointed in my favorite place on campus and am extremely and thoroughly angered at this manger, and the unprofessional manner in which sh

While I was enjoying a lunch at the Nugget(49er breakfast sandwich and fries) I sneezed. I would like to thank jessika and George for blessing me! I’ve been coming here since 2001 and the food is still great and the service today has been some of the best I’ve ever experience! Go Beach

Yes, they can get quite crowded at lunch time. But the lines move quickly, the people are friendly, and the food is delicious. Some of my favorites are the breakfast burrito(great salsa on the side!), bbq burger, and sweet potato fries. When I’m trying to cut back I go with the skinny burrito and lettuce wrapped turkey burger. Use their Tapingo app if you want to cut straight to the front of the line.

Decent prices and it’s a great place to hang out on campus. The seasoned fries are pretty good. I’d recommend the grilled cheese combo.

I will say that the customer service is pretty good. HOWEVER, the Greek salad is absolutely repulsive, it’s made with that nasty cheap lettuce, and the cheese was very stale, not to mention there was no dressing… Salmon burger was alright, kinda bland, but you get what you pay for. Prices aren’t bad.

I’ve been coming here ever since I was a wee baby freshman. Now as a senior and sitting here, I can still say I love it. I haven’t tried much of the menu, but what I can say for sure is the BLT is my favorite. It’s so good. Great place to get beer too! Everyone here is really nice and friendly, a good place to come and study :)

This place has really gone downhill. Yes, it’s an eatery on campus. I get it. But still… so bad now. Anywho, I’ve been on this campus for over 8 years(work here and post grad now), and until about a year ago the Nugget was pretty solid for on-campus food. I don’t know what’s happened, but it’s just awful now. I keep giving it 3rd, 4th, 5th… chances, and it’s just terrible. Everything I’ve gotten the past year has been extremely under cooked(I’m talking essentially raw potatoes in my burrito), bland or WAY over seasoned, or just wrong. I get a variety of things when I come here, and all have been consistently bad, especially in these past few months. I think this morning’s visit will be my last – finally. It’s a shame because it is convenient, the staff has always been really friendly, the manager is super cool… but I just can’t keep wasting money on poorly prepared food.

two thumbs up for the bomb breakfast burrito and being able to get a beer in between classes! they got a variety of pub fare too. Burgers, sandwiches, burritos, fries and other items. they should have more than one television though inside the restaurant.

The tuna melts are delicious much to my pleasant surprise. However the salads that you can get with a combo often are kind of sad looking and not that fresh. :/. Happens to be open during the winter session when nothing else except Starbucks is on campus so that’s a plus.

I literally love the food. Being on campus all day, I don’t have time to go home or get lunch so this is one of my best leading options. Their sandwiches are amazing a and the service is really smooth. I love the chilled out atmosphere too.

Turkey and cranberry sandwich ON A WAFFLE for ~5 $ Delicious, cheaper than Bruxie’s, and right on campus I can’t believe I’ve been suffering through the dry pita sandwiches at the Beach Hut for the past month. So mad. Can’t wait to get fat with this sandwich

I love having a place like this on campus. It’s perfect and convenient and a good break. I ordered sweet potato fries– perfection, chicken strips– not out of the ordinary but very delicious anyway, and a Shock Top. They carded me– which I don’t mind. There was live music and enough tables for us to feel comfortable.

great place for French fries on campus, seasoned or regular. My go to lunch here is the Buffalo Dip Chicken Sandwich Combo. It is almost literally the only thing I get here. It’s basically a breaded chicken patty covered with buffalo sauce w/(a green, not regular light green lettuce) a green lettuce leaf & a slice of tomato. It’s seriously legit lol. Breakfast here is good too, they have become more relaxed about breakfast item times, but only some items. Get the buffalo dip chicken sandwich if your cool w/spicy foods. Your gonna love it!

THEGOOD — Some of the food served at The Nugget is a reprieve from the culinary monotony of the collection of fast food joints located on campus. — The sandwiches are okay. They certainly help wash out the taste of weeks worth of Subway sandwiches caked onto the sides of your gullet. — The cajun fries are a good compliment to whatever beer you happen to get. — Thank goodness there is alcohol. Long days and nights spent science-ing can make anyone crave an ice cold beer. THEBAD — As a pub, The Nugget falls a little bit short on the beer and wine selection and variety. — The size of The Nugget is not proportional to the size of the campus or the size of the student body. There should be serious considerations to remodeling and expansion. — The food is slightly on the expensive side. THEUGLY — This is not the place to be during the lunch hour. It’s too small of an establishment. — Would it kill them to decorate the place once in a while?

This place is awesome, but it can be better. First, let’s talk about awesome! 1) Beer on campus is awesome. But beer that isn’t Bud Light or Coors? Even better! I love the fact that there’s a broad variety of types of beers that they serve here. From different types of ales & lagers from big & small brewers alike, it’s enough to keep your average beer drinker happy. 2) Food is a nice break from the chain locations that are found inside the USU. Granted, yes, it costs a little bit more, but you have to take into consideration the fact that you’re probably getting a better bang for your buck here, especially when you weigh in that the food is actually good. 3) There are plenty of seats, a ton of space, and occasionally something cool happening on the stage. Yeah, that’s all. 4) Since I’m in the engineering area so often, this place EASILY kicks the Outpost’s ass all-around, so coming here is always a nice treat. Let’s talk about improvements. 1) There could DEFINITELY be more beer on tap. Yes, I get that we’re on campus and that we shouldn’t plan to get completely hammered out to the point of no return, but how can you call yourself a pub if you only serve about 6 beers on tap without even having an IPA? I asked one of the workers who served beer and she mentioned that they had to pull an IPA from their rotation because the alcohol content left some students a little woozy on the way out. 1a) Being able to buy pitchers of beer would also be fan-freaking-tastic. A happy hour also wouldn’t hurt! 2) Maybe I’m too hopeful, but it’d be great if we moved away from these dinky plastic cups. Replacing these cups with mugs, glasses & the like would give it a better overall feel for a pub. Plus, the school wouldn’t have to waste money on buying new cups all the time(unless someone breaks a glass). If anyone’s been to the Anthill Pub & Grill at UCI, I think their owner has the right idea in running a pub. While the Nugget still lags behind Anthill Pub, it’s still a great place to hangout. However, if UCI is CSULB’s rival school, we should pick up the slack in the ‘cool’ side of campus. I know I’d enjoy some new beers!

After completely ignoring this place during my first two years at CSULB, I certainly made up for lost time when I was in here once a week(more or less) during my last two years. There are so many food options on-campus, but why would you ever go to Carl’s Jr. when you can get a way better burger at the Nugget? I got hooked on their veggie burger, so that’s the menu item I’m most familiar with. As an off and on meat eater I thought it was pretty great, and the veggies(lettuce, tomato, onion) were almost always fresh and delicious. Fries are good, seasoned fries are even better, and sweet potato fries are the best(unfortunately the price increases as the awesomeness increases). Regardless of my choice, they were usually covered in ranch dressing. The fish and chips, chicken tenders, and breakfast omelets are pretty good too. I occasionally sampled other food, but I usually stuck to my trusted veggie burger. I found myself coming in for lunch after my class got out at 10:45, meaning there was always a massive line of people waiting for them to switch the breakfast menu to lunch. It’s sometimes hard to find a seat when it’s that busy too. Bring a friend so one of you can go throw your stuff on a table before everything fills up. Despite the allure of grabbing a beer in-between classes, I only came in a handful of times to have a Blue Moon. Their selection is not bad. Considering it’s a bar on a college campus I should probably give them more credit. The giant TV was usually on some sports channel. It didn’t bother me much as long as the volume wasn’t too loud. I never came for any of the shows/events, but from time to time they’d have live music or a DJ. I much preferred when it wasn’t that loud. I do miss this place, it was a nice treat to have during my time at CSULB.
