Tony’s Smog

I’ve been coming here for the last 3 times for a smog check. Tony is very friendly and helpful. Very fast service so you don’t have to wait a long time. Everytime I’ve gone it’s about 15 minutes in and out. I recommend it to anyone in the LB area.

About 1 pm on a Monday, I called to make an appointment for the following week, he said it only takes 10 minutes so appointments weren’t needed, but if I felt better about it he would write down a time. I asked if I could come in right then, he said sure. I had just poured myself a cup of hot tea, so I grabbed it to go and hit the road. When I got there, he started on my car right away. I sat sipping my tea, staring at my phone, and about 5 minutes later my car was ready, paperwork signed and sent! My tea was still hot! I highly recommend Tony’s for professional, friendly and fast service!

My car’s registration has been held up for months because I never got a smog check. I know. I’m brilliant. In my defense, it’s not my main car, but my «dog» car, so I don’t use it all that often.
I called in to see if there were any slots, and the guy told me to come in right away. I drove down and I was in and out in 15 minutes. $ 50 for the whole ordeal.

I got there as soon as they were open but somebody had already beat me to it! So I had to wait for about 15 minutes while the tech finished up with the first car. I was second of the day, I pulled up he told me to leave the car and have a seat made me sign a paper told me how much it was right off the bat. Make sure you bring your renewal notice from the DMV, I’m sure that helps a lot too. After he finished up with the first car my car was brought up it is a hybrid so the process was totally different than the older car before me not as tedious. As soon as he pulled my car up he was finished in less than 5 minutes. I paid my $ 50 ($ 40 for smog $ 10 for cert.) this place does take all forms of credit card. I enjoyed the waiting area it was not as formal but it was still just as comfy. So glad he got my out so I could enjoy the rest of my day, the process was a lot easier than expected he sends the results to the DMV right then and there! Thanks Tony!

Tony is simply the best! We looked for a smog shop when our DMV notice showed up late. He was open early the next morning. NO wait at all, and only $ 50, even though our car is an SUV. No shystering, no upselling, no come-​ons. He does one thing and he does it very, very well — his reputation here is well-​earned! I will always choose Tony’s for our smogging needs from now on.

Went to Tony’s today since I just moved to California and need to get a smog check. Super nice guy, with no line and quick service. In and out in no time and quoted 50 bucks for my Toyota Celica. Highly recommend this spot for your smog needs.
It’s a shame the dmv is not this easy seeing as you need to jump through hoops and fight a mob just to ask a question.

Overview: Tony’s Smog is a one-​man, Star certified, SMOG-​Check only shop located just a block or two away from the Long Beach Blvd exit of the 405 Freeway that does one thing and does that one thing incredibly efficiently for $ 50 (for newer cars, $ 58 for older cars).
The Service: Tony is an Asian guy who is quick, efficient, and didn’t try to up-​sell or con me in any way. Loved it. I got in and out in less than 10 minutes (there was no wait on a Tuesday at noon.)
The Shop: Even though you don’t really have much time to wait, he does provide a table, a couple of chairs, and some magazines/​newspapers for you to read. I barely got through an article before he was done.
Conclusions: With a flat $ 50 fee (Visa/​Debit accepted) and no shenanigans (unlike Bellflower Smog which charges you $ 60 – 70 unless you bring them a $ 10 coupon found on their website), Tony’s Smog deserves my highest recommendation.

Another year… Another smog check… Only one place id ever think to take my vehicle! Tony you rick! Your service is awesome! In at 9:40. Out at 9:55!
I’d give this shop 10 stars. It really deserves a sky of them. I would highly recommend this place if you want your smog done right and done fast and accurately!

First time coming here. Super nice here. Good prices. They are Star certified so you know they are legit. Very gentle with the car. He seems as he cares about car and does not want to damage anything. I will come again.

Took my car here for the first time couple weeks ago, boy was I a happy camper. I was in and out of there within 15 min!!! Pricing is excellent too. My new go to place!

Service is great and fast! I was in and out in 10 minutes. Tony is great at what he does. Will definitely come back and refer this place to anyone that needs to a smog check.

Often when passing by this location it looks really empty, but don’t let that fool you. Tony is a really friendly and honest. I’ve failed a smog check at a nearby location last year and they didn’t even explain why or possible tips to help us pass again.
So fast forward to this visit. I pull into the empty lot and Tony after greeting us takes out his diagnostic scanner (my check engine light was on) and tells me that I’ve obviously got a few problems with my car. He proceeded to inspect my engine, around my car and even got on his hands and knees to check under my car even though he was dressed in business casual attire. Even though his location is smog only? He was smiling and optimistic the whole time, what a guy!
The whole trip took no more than 20 minutes and I passed on the first try and Tony took care of the paperwork and everything. Gave great advice on what to do with my car and it’s definitely worth the $ 58.25 that it costs.
Showing my appreciation by giving him 5 stars because I’ve had just utterly terrible, dishonest smog experiences in the past and he really set the bar for me.
