Willow Cleaners & Laundry

BEWARE! Not only is the alteration work at Willow Cleaners inferior, but they have very poor customer «service.» On Sept.26, 2015, I took four panel curtains in for alterations. I spoke with the owner Peter who assured me that they could hem them from 64″ to 36″ with a 2″ hem.
The sign in their window said «EXPERT ALTERATIONS» so I paid in advance.
When I hung up the altered curtains at home I found that and were very UNEVEN. While they were 36″ at the sides, the middle of the curtains varied from 36 ¼″ to over 37″ and the curve was very evident. I returned them to Willow Cleaners the next day and Peter acknowledged that they were not correct and said his seamstress would fix them. He said the holes would not show from the first stitched hem. When I asked Peter what went wrong, he simply said «she’s old.»
But he assured me again that they’d be fixed and redone by his seamstress and gave me the date for pickup (about 4 days later). When I went to pick them up they weren’t ready. My husband picked them up the next day. When I hung them up at home I found that NOTHING HAD BEEN DONE to correct them.
I returned them again the next day. Peter said they had a mix up and added that his seamstress would be in that afternoon and would resew the hems correctly. When I picked them up about 2 days later they looked better. However when I hung them up at home I immediately noticed that since they are semi-​transparent, I could see that the INSIDE hem is CROOKED, UNEVEN and JAGGED. Also, on close examination, the stitching is wavy and almost misses the hem in some places. Additionally, the holes from original hem did show with the light from the window. Oh, and the hems were 4″ not 2″.
I returned to Willow Cleaners and showed all these problems to Peter. He acknowledged that they needed to be fixed and said his seamstress would redo them. I replied that I did not want this woman to touch my curtains again. She had three chances to get them right and failed. (How old is she?, I wondered.) I asked Peter for my money back and he denied my request. He said he wouldn’t give me my money back because he had already paid his seamstress. I replied that I didn’t care what or who he paid and reminded him that I’m his customer. He still would not refund my money.
I will take them to another dry cleaners/​seamstress and have to pay again to have them fixed.

I have been going here for about one year. I am a nursing student and they keep my scrubs clean, pressed and always remember who I am. Even when school is over I am still going to keep going to this dry cleaners.

I had high hopes for this place, as I live nearby, and had some garments destroyed by National Cleaners on Cherry by the Airport. So I switched over to Willow Cleaners, and have been thoroughly disappointed. Plain and simple: they STAPLE the garment tag through your garment. I can’t even comprehend why they would do this instead of looping it through a button hole like other cleaners. WHY?! Not only does this put 2 small holes in your clothing, it takes a good 60 seconds to carefully remove the staple while you’re trying to get dressed! If a customer cares enough about their clothing to pay for a professional cleaning service, you better bet they’ll care when their professional cleaner is stapling through these clothes. I won’t be returning, as the repeated stapling will certainly decrease the life of the very clothes I was trying to preserve via dry cleaning.

I was so disappointed in the service here because I live so close by and really wanted a convenient dry cleaners. I took in two silk shirts, a silk dress, and two cashmere sweaters. The woman that checked me in was not friendly, asked if I was a first time customer, and said nothing when I affirmed I was. I wasn’t looking for a discount, but at least a «Thanks for choosing us» would have been nice. The dress and sweaters came out okay, but they basically ruined my silk shirts. I should have unwrapped and inspected everything there but was in a rush so I saw it when I got home. The silk shirts have dirty drips on at least three spots per shirt, and they don’t look like they’ll come out. Very noticeable too since they are ivory silk. They staple their number tags to the labels on your clothes, but on one of the shirt, they used a safety pin to attach their tag, making a hole in the silk. It’s noticeable and it’s a tear. I’m pretty pissed. I would never recommend them. I’d go in to complain but they have a sign there saying they are not responsible for 100% silk items (which these shirts were) which apparently makes it okay for them to do a terrible job cleaning them.

Willow Cleaners are the best! I have a work shirt that I thought was ruined but Willow Cleaners saved it! The service was great and prices were very reasonable. They are just down the street from my house so it’s very convenient for me to drop off my clothes and pick them up in the afternoon. Their service really what will keep me coming back.

Great place. Fast and simple. Same day service is great. Took my work uniform there for dry cleaning. Got done that same day. The staff is very friendly. I would deff recommend to my friends and family

I recommend this place to anybody that’s in LBC area. They are very friendly and do a great job every time. I’ll never go anywhere else.

Willow has been doing an excellent job with my clothes for years. Now with new management it has been even better.

I been coming here for years and never had a problem with this place. Doesn’t matter how much clothes I take they always deliver on time. I believe it might be under new management and I can really tell the difference in the customer service and on top of that they have reasonable pricing. Highly recommended for anyone that’s looking for a professional clean in a timely fashion.

I love this place. I recentlt went in to get some work clothes and football jerseys dry cleaned.
I was very impressed with the new owner or manager Peter.
He was very attentive and went above and beyond getting me the clothes before the day that I was supposed to pick it up. I grew up in this area and it feels great to know that the little places still treat you better.
I WILL NEVER GO TO ANY OTHER CLEANER’S.

Convenient if you are in the neighborhood.
Been going there for years. Never take anything there I need on a specific date or if really valuable. Very inconsistent work. Don’t seem to care if they make a mistake or don’t get something clean, no matter what problems it might make for you.

I am a huge fan of Willow Cleaners. They know who I am when I walk in. The pricing is extremely fair and if you pay up front, you get a discount. I usually just bring in basic stuff (shirts, sweaters, slacks) but I have brought in a sleeping bag and a comforter and the turn around and price was great too. It’s cash only so be prepared.

I never actually had a problem here. My dry clean gets done quick.

The WORST service I’ve ever received…
They messed up on both of my mother’s traditional Cambodian dresses ($ 250 down the drain). Her dresses were completely faded and crinkly dried (like it had been thrown into an actual dryer)!! the lady had the nerve to tell me they forgot to press… knowing damn well, ironing something will not get the fade to go away! So I gave her the benefit of the doubt and came back the next day (after they pressed it; supposedly — and to talk to the owner) which was useless and a waste of breath. Save yourself the money and go to a place with more professionalism and class — they wouldn’t even own up to their mistake. Willow Cleaners, if you knew you weren’t capable of getting the work done. why take on the job and fuck up someone’s traditional silk dress!!! Never again.

My clothes come back quickly, clean and for cheap. What else can I ask for? Cake? I guess I could ask for cake. Next time, I’ll ask them for a slice.
Regardless. Even without snacks and desserts, I like this place. I first patronized their establishment a few years ago sheerly out of convenience in proximity. I have returned several times since because it’s easy, they’re friendly, timely and reliable. The place is big, but unassuming. The kind of building you could drive by for years yet never really notice. But, once inside it’s a very friendly lady asking you how she can help you, and you eventually having some shiny, clean clothes.
There’s a big sign saying it out front, but it’s worth noting that if you pay up front you get 10% off the total price.
And now, I will take this opportunity to quote a favorite joke from a favorite comedian, because it’s fitting for this review:
«This shirt is dry clean only. Which means, it’s dirty.»
