This man is a disaster. Rude to kids and is too rough. I hate going there.

Never going back. I first went to this shop right after work only to discovered it closes at 6:30pm. I went back again around noon on a weekday, again it was closed. I guess he was taking lunch. I got tired of waiting and left. Third time I went he was mostly paying attention to the TV then my hair. I told him I was in a rush, which I was. He then started ranting about his customers. I thought this is not the time. I’m in a rush. My fourth and last time was today(Tuesday). I went around 3:30pm. He was on the phone. Instead of hanging up he first asked me «what type of service I wanted?» When I said«I just want a clean up» his response was, not today. I was SHOCKED. I couldn’t believe my ears. I asked, what do you mean not today? He quickly went back to his conversation on the phone. I guess my haircut was not enough money for him to be bother. I could have argued for days but I decided it was not worth my time or money. Instead, I’m sharing my experience with Unilocal.I will NEVER go back to that place. We are in desperate need for more barbershops in LIC. I tried convincing my old barber to come check the neighborhood and plant a shop here.

I love David and his shop. Always a smile and a wave from the window as I pass by. Amazing hair cuts when I stop in. David is a super nice guy with a good sense of humor. Select haircuts come with David’s own new girlfriend or money back guarantee. Again David is wonderful but, those haircuts got me into trouble more than once! See you at the shop!

David’s is great for a reasonably priced haircut. If you are looking for a stylist go somewhere else. David and staff are great barbers and always provides entertaining conversation.

Go check out the reviews on google before heading here. I didn’t want to believe the reviews but I should have. The only reason this place is still in business is because they’re one of the only barber shops in town. Please someone open up a shop and I promise you I will pay you to cut my hair because I’m never going here again. I’d rather travel half an hour to the city to get a proper cut. It was fast, and expensive for a men’s cut. I had to fix a few spots on my head when I got home with clippers and scissors. I’ve paid half as much for barbers to spend twice as much time making sure everything is perfect(and that was with finishing with a hot razer on the neck). EDIT: my g-d damn boss just noticed how bad my hair looks and said she could have done a better job. Lowering the stars to 1. Worthless.

David’s is the only place I get my haircut. He gave me my first haircut when I was a screaming toddler at age 4 or 5 and has given me every haircut since. In the rapidly changing neighborhood of Long Island City, the inside of David’s Barber Shop remains stagnant and is a throwback to the way Long Island City was when growing up. It is definitely a no frills place, you will get what you ask for with consistent quality. My loyalty obviously lies with Dave, who is great with both scissors, buzzers and even works well with a straight razor, however in the next chair over, Rita does a great job with both men’s and women’s haircuts(when Dave is out of the shop I gladly go to Rita). I don’t think I will be leaving Long Island City for a while, I can only hope that Dave’s will stick around for another 20+ years!

Arrived 10 minutes after opening on a Tuesday. Quick hair cut, not complaints. Barber was friendly and engaging in conversation

How in the world is this a barber shop if they don’t do head shave’s or any shaving at all… seriously change the name.

Recently dropped by along with my boyfriend(boo for weekends without 7 train service) so he could get a haircut. It’s a very no frills place, and honestly, it looks like nothing inside has changed in 10+ years. The two barbers were friendly, and his haircut turned out more or less as good as his favorite barbers in Manhattan(like Neighborhood Barber in the East Village). It was also equally as cheap, so he’ll be trying it again to see if they can remain consistent.
