Glad to find DC, great food at reasonable prices. We had occasion to stay at a hotel down the street in a dumpy neighborhood with terrible restaurant. We walked around the boardwalk, great million dollar views but where to get a good cup of coffee or breakfast??? Then we discovered Dorian Café. What a great little place, friendly service and great food. And before 9AM there was a special where they included coffee and juice.

The food is generally standard diner fare. They don’t excel at making eggs without any shells in them, but if you just want a sandwich or pancakes or something in that vein, it’s adequate(though basic). HOWEVER, DONOTBOTHERWITHDELIVERY. Delivery attempt #1 — delivery window is an hour on 4 sandwiches, which(not surprisingly) all arrive soggy. Delivery attempt #2 — A friend and I ordered a soup, egg sandwich, and an order of onion rings around 9 p.m. on a Sunday night via Seamless. We were quoted 45 minutes. Kind of crazy, considering my apartment is 5 blocks away. But ok. After 46 minutes, we call, and are told the food is on its way. 15 minutes after that, we call again, and the person answering the phone is agitated that we’re calling back telling me the food had already left. I expressed my annoyance that we’re now 15 minutes past an inconceivably long delivery window, and was told, «well, we can promise you your food will be hot.» Actually, you can’t. That’s not how eggs and soup work, even with the greatest heating transport device that ever existed. I also got a line about how«this is what happens in food service, I’ve been doing this for 6 years and that is not a long window, I told you the food had left, I don’t understand why you’re calling again»). Funny, I’ve been in food service and hospitality for 10 years, and I would have lost my job a long time ago if I subscribed to that mentality. Anyway, after I hung up, we cancelled the Seamless order(so now about 20+ minutes after the end of our delivery window). Seamless called to confirm that we actually wanted to cancel, and, imagine that, apologize. The order was cancelled, and did not in fact ever arrive which tells me one thing. If the food really left the diner more than 20 minutes before this happened, there is NOWAY Seamless would have been able to successfully cancel this order before the food arrived. After the appropriate level of horror and customer service from Seamless, I made my own dinner. Eggs, without shells, which took only 4 minutes.

Best salads! Excellent management! Fries are out of this world. Their roasted half chicken is phenomenal! There’s something for everyone.

Maybe I’m a diner snob being from Jersey. But this tops my list of bad NYC diners. Diners, good diner are few and far between in the 5 boroughs. It’s a nice Looking diner. But everyone who works here needs to go. I’ve never seen so many people on one job who know so little about their job. Dirty silverwear. The completely wrong meal came out to me and I’m the only customer in here. What’s to forget? Then when the pancakes Did make it out to me they were cold and didn’t come with butter/syrup. Then the waiter asked if I wanted OJ, then I said sure and he said OK, because it comes with it. He didn’t think it was necessary to being this up when I ordered. As if they were gonna charge and perhaps not give it. Any diner fully staffed by foreign men never works right. Fire all these inept careless guys and hire all women. Men don’t know shit about hospitality

The epitome of a diner. Small, quiet large plates of food. Food’s good. It’s a diner after all so a bit greasy but delicious. A perfect pre-work breakfast or hangover cure. Dorian Frittata is a favorite but the menu’s all good for breakfast items. Coffee is huge and gets the job done. Mimosas & Blood Mary’s are not the best but I’m not here for brunch drink I’m here to cure myself from last night’s attack on my liver. If you’re looking for an evening snack. You can’t go wrong with their CooCoo Crisp chicken. It’s fully-sized chicken legs fried up.

Good, solid food for a very reasonable price. Do not come expecting an elegant or fancy meal and you won’t be disappointed.

This is the second review I post for this location. This is my after work location. It’s a chilled spot with great customer service and great food. Terry, Agnes & Eduardo take good care of me. I love the red wine selection they have. I also suggest the coleslaw. I think that is the best coleslaw. Try the Norwegian salmon salad and the fields of dream salad. When it comes to breakfast try the LoX Bagel deluxe … When you in LIC go check the Dorian Café.

slightly better than average breakfast. I liked the irish breakfast with the white and black pudding. They did forget our toast a couple times but the food was pretty decent. It’s a little more than a diner.

One of the worst philly cheese steak wraps I’ve had. The meat is probably dangerous to your health. And stay far away from the BBQ sauce. It’s gross. I’d try this place again only for the breakfast food because I think they do this well. Fries are really good.

This place sucks so bad. Food is gross… I could have gotten better food at the bodega across the street. They charged 6.50 for a watered down latte. It was equivalent to a small. It was horrible. I pay less at freaking Gregory’s Coffee for a latte and its 10 times better. Waste off time and money. I’ll never go here again.

2.5 Hate rating this low, I’m a huge fan of diner food, but it’s warranted, We came here late last night for a quick bite before heading back home, it was completely empty which didn’t bother us. The waitress was very pleasant despite the late hour, I ordered the lumberjack and my bf got the chicken parm. Food took a few minutes to come out. She forgot my bf’s red wine, and half way through the meal when she did recall after singing and giving the guy in the back a massage lol; apologetic she came back with white wine and 10 mins later realizing her mistake, back with red. On my end, immediate disappointment. The saddest pancakes I’ve ever seen, I asked for scrambled eggs but apparently that means sunny side up. I don’t like runny undercooked anything, especially egg yolk. My meal was mediocre and slightly depressing at best, when you get breakfast for dinner you’re not suppose to feel sad; well maybe after you’ve cleared the plate. Speaking of plate, mine looked kinda suspect :/water spots and dingy. Like something you’d find at a yard sale hosted by someone’s grandmother who doesn’t clean often. Definitely in no rush to come back at all, and that says a lot coming from someone who loves breakfast!

Best veggie burger on the planet by double. Curly fries rock, too. Prices are in line for the area(read:expensive) but when I want a treat, they get my order every time. I don’t mind paying for quality and Dorians really gets it right!

Being close to the train is not an acceptable reason to return to a restaurant. That’s my quote after today’s experience. The waitress kept us waiting(but did greet us quickly) upon sitting down; someone else got our drink orders. We waited at least five minutes after our menus were closed for our waitress. We ordered, asked for brown sugar for coffee. She passed by three more times and we ask again; she doesn’t bring it. I asked someone else who reached under the counter ten feet away and pulled out five Sugar In the Raw packets. Had we known it was there, we would’ve grabbed it ourselves. Salmon Benedict was good. Dorian Frittata was edible but not something I’d ever get again. First of all, it’s an open-faced omelette with cheese melted on top. The promised plum tomatoes were anything but plum. They were beefsteak tomatoes and not good. Second of all, a frittata needs to cook covered and thicken, so clearly the owners need to review some cooking basics. She did not clear one item from our table. She brought the check as we got our jackets on and still didn’t clear anything from the table. We were never rude to her and she left us with a terrible impression for our first time. No thanks!

I have visited this place multiple times and I’m always satisfied with the food, staff and price. Last weekend I ordered Brunch –egg Benedict with smoked salmon. The food was great. It came with a side and two drinks(coffee and orange juice) for such a great price.

Love this place. I came here on one of those really depressing nights where you end up eating dinner alone at a diner on a holiday and they were seriously the nicest people in New York that night. And the food is good too. I’ve ordered an embarrassing amount of the food on this menu due to a combination of living nearby for a long time and it being the only place that delivers to Greenpoint past my niece’s bedtime and have rarely been disappointed. The only stayaway I’ve found is the egg salad(too much mayo), but all the Greek stuff is fantastic and the sandwiches are great too.

My girlfriend lives right off the 7 line stop by this place, so we decided to get a quick bite here before heading to the bar next door to watch the ballgame. Great decision. It was practically empty, staff was friendly, and food was delicious, cheap, and came out SO fast. We placed our order and it literally came out 3 – 5 minutes later. Usually that’s a red flag, but everything was fresh, hot, and made exactly to order. I love that we have a new go-to diner right off the train if we’re not into getting a fancy or specific cuisine. Plus, it’s right across the street from a Mets bar and that’s always a plus.

How does this not have 5 stars?!? Full disclosure, I am a HUGE fans of diners. Therefore, I had high expectations walking into Dorian Café. My expectations were BLOWN out of the water. My boyfriend and I ordered eggs for a big day on the Town. I ordered the Frittata Breakfast Special for $ 11 and got a packed eggy layer of spinach, goat cheese, and an assortment of vegetables. And that’s not all. Then I was brought out extremely good orange juice and perfect diner unlimited coffee. Paired with the dense and hearty breakfast. It was expected as the«breakfast special» but was surprised by the quality. And that’s not all. I received a plate of toast with butter and jelly. Geeze, what a pleasant surprise. And that’s not all. Then the killer of the meal came out. Home fries with onions and green peppers. And these were the best home fries I’ve ever had. I mean, if this was all I ordered, I would have given Dorian Café an A+. Though this was an afterthought. Are you surprised we went back the next day as our«last stop» in the city?

One of the most dissatisfying meals we’ve ever had. After waiting for over an hour for the delivery we received our cold and soggy food. Mozarella sticks werent melty, but dry hard and cold. Burger was overcooked. Fish and chips had a few pieces of tasteless fish and giant pile of peas and corn from one of those frozen bags, piled on top of a few french fries, which made them cold and soggy and disgusting. We couldnt even finish our food. Why open a restaurant if you hate food so much?

13 dollars for a chicken Cajun salad that was horrible… Was advertised for 9.95 outside but apparently you need to eat in to get the lunch special(and no that was not written on the sign) annoyed that I paid 13 dollars for mediocre pieces of leaves. Will not be coming back. ever. So disappointed.

If you want a hearty breakfast and skip all that extreme fancy stuff, Dorian is a good place. It has the typical diner menu with Chicken Souvlaki being my favorite. However, the latest addition is the CooCoo chicken wings. Korean style fried to a crispy and tasty goodness. Choose between Soy Garlic or Spicy. They are just as good as Bön Chon or the likes of UFC. Trust me.
