They used to be Tost Café then changed to Red Café. Their food is OK if you’re lazy and live on the same block. They have signature salads that charge every time you order. They always come in under 30 minutes. The inside has a seating area with stools facing the street. I would never stay to eat my food because I don’t want people looking at me while I eat. The menu is above their food station. Just think subway chains but with fresher food. I always get the Sante fe chicken salad. I like that chips are added. Their prices are not reasonable. Of course eating healthy is never cheap. The burritos are pretty good too. Their add on extras are pretty pricey. The drinks are outrageously priced but I love them. The bubble tea is good but seasonal, wish it wasn’t. They can add proteins or ginseng for $ 1.00. The people who work here are very nice.

Great Serivce. Got my order exactly but did get charged a dollar more than the advertised price.

I can only speak for my made to order breakfast request. Potatoes added without my asking, which apparantly justifies a price of about 30−50% more than I would pay elsewhere. I felt scammed. I believe it * is*a bit of a scam. I expect delis to behave like delis, not like diners where I expect to pay for potatoes whether I want them or not.

They only get 2 stars because the delivery guy was foreign and cute. Food was nasty I had pasta and it came with bread… Way too much seasoning on the bread and the seasoning they had on the pasta didn’t taste right… they need to do adjustments with the food and taste euhhhh… no more late night cravings for me.

Terrible service and attitude. The server was being very offensive saying«we don’t serve pendejos» with his back turned to my friend and I. At one point I thought the server said something to me so I said«I’m sorry?» but the server said that he didn’t say anything, and in a very rude manner told me that I should have said thank you because he made my bagel, which I felt was very uncalled for.

I work around the corner and Tost is one of my frequent lunch spots. It’s clean, the staff are efficient and portion sizes for a lunch are pretty good. Their salad bar has a nice selection of ingredients and they don’t skimp on portions or dressing. It’s a touch more than I’d like to spend since it’s not manhattan but LIC is getting pricy and there are a lot of suited up business people around so it comes with the territory. There are certainly worse places around here to get lunch.

Only stopped by becasue I was in the mood for bubble tea and decided to get my lunch while I was there. Asian Veggie Tost was OK but their Green Tea flavored bubble tea was attrocious. Almost wanted to throw it away and would have, had it been a little cheaper. Spent over $ 12 and was left dissatisfied. You’re better off paying $ 6.50 for a yummy sandwich with fressh and quality ingredients in Caffeina than at this place. Not returning!

First off, let me just start by saying that I’m not one for giving bad publicity or for giving a place a bad name, even if they«deserve it». However, in this case, I’m willing to make an exception. This particular location is not only rude but incredibly unprofessional. After getting my order wrong(and messing up my prior orders), they proceed to tell me that it’s the way it is. Didn’t even offer to replace my order or correct it. That was the latest incident. Previous ones include the manager being rude to a friend of mine every time we entered the establishment(after leering at her), the girl at the counter claiming my card had no money on it(out loud, might I add) when in fact it did and the piece de resistance was when they sold my coworker an expired yogurt and claimed it was«low fat». If by low fat, you mean she’s going to throw up the thing after consuming it, then you are correct sir! They are absolutely the worst Tozt I’ve been to and I’ve been to quite a few. Don’t order from them unless you them to mess up your order or when you call them, have one their servers be rude to you over the phone or like they told me «Let me finish!» I hope they restaff this place or shut it down. So aggravating.

Tost makes me sad. It is like the millions of «midtown lunch» places found all over New York. I pass it on the way to work so I eat here sometimes for variety. Their big issue is consistency. For what it is, the food isn’t half bad. It’s just that I’ve tried breakfast sandwiches, paninis, wraps, pasta, and more, and I never know if I will be getting a hot and tasty meal or a hot mess. The staff(especially the people working the register) are also extremely abrupt and unfriendly. Not something to desperately avoid by any means, but don’t come in with high hopes.

This place is OK, but that’s it. I’ve been to this Tost Café as well as their Flushing restaurant. My issues are the same with both places. Their food is just not flavorful enough. A lot of their sandwiches are very bready and bland. Their prices are average I’d say… maybe a little high for some of the sandwiches. The service is pretty quick though, so are the deliveries. Their burritos and quesadillas are not bad.

First time ordering from Tost Café because I was in the mood for a sandwich and ironically not many choices in my area. Food is very expensive but had little choice in area. Food came and not was their hardly any meat on the sandwich they delivered the wrong flavor of Nesquik. I am allergic to Strawberry so I had to call them. They said they will send the correct type, after 10 minutes I get a call saying, no one wants to drive there we will credit you next time. WHAT! I am never coming back, had to contact Grub hub for refund. I could have drove to a better deli for half the price and saved an hour of my life.

I recently had an experience where I made an order for delivery on a Sunday afternoon. After waiting about 45 minutes I gave them a call back to double check, she said the delivery guy just left and I should be receiving my order soon. Another 45 minutes go by and the delivery guy had yet to show up. I decided not to keep waiting and made another order from a different place. I figured I would just reject Tost when the guy showed up since it was well over a hour and a half but the guy NEVER showed. In my opinion that is just unacceptable. The least they could of done was call and let me know something happened.

For what it is, Tost is decent. I ran in to get some lunch after running to the post office(because the post office near my apartment is horrible), and did indeed feel like I was at any quick Manhattan lunchstop. I ordered a cheesesteak and got a cheesesteak, without any objections to my unconventional desires for lettuce, tomato, pickle, and mayonnaise(other cheesesteaketeers have occasionally looked askance at me for ordering my sandwich thus). I watched some cable news while I waited. I observed a decent selection of pick-and-mix salad offerings and a full menuboard of basic deli & lunch counter fare. I am never in this area unless I need to mail something, but I’d see no reason not to grab another sandwich the next time I have a package to send out.

Places like Tost are dime-a-dozen in Manhattan. Sadly, this is one of the better options in Long Island City. The guys who prepare the food are fast and friendly. The salads are a decent size and the amounts of toppings and meat are good enough. Free soda with a sandwich/wrap/salad. Some of the food can be pretty bland(different wraps and breakfast plates) and I’ve had to throw away some coffee because they used curdled milk.

One of my favs for lunch — Great sandwiches and soup. I like the Veggie s/w and Lentil or Split Pea soup. Servers are very friendly and cater to your taste.
