I really like Basil Flats. I have had their Falafel sandwich and hummus plate, both are great! I love their shoestring style fries as well! Give them a go! I call from work, put in a to-go order and within 15 minutes my food is ready to pick up, super easy lunch.

I think this place is decent for something not too expensive, relatively healthy options, and avoiding the typical fast food joint. I eat here a few times a year. The only thing is, though, sometimes the seating areas can feel a little grimy.

Great quick bite, that’s healthy and won’t break the bank. New to longmont, I took my wife and three kids there, and it was delicoius. the kids had sausage pizza and apple sauce, my wife liked the nathan salad, and I really enjoyed the greek salad. we will go back!

A followup to my review on Basil Flats. So if you read my 1 st review you saw that I was not given two weeks worth of tips on my paycheck. I just now picked up my final paycheck. It should’ve been for 38 hours for one week. My check was for $ 45.71 for 5.5 hours for the last two weeks of August. I didn’t work those weeks. My check before that was for July 31-July 31. So clearly he does not plan on paying me for the hours I worked. This is such bad business. Again here is the text from the manager about my last check. . «Joe took off ur tips because u stopped showing up without notice. If ud like to talk to him about it, his number is 303−999−7372.» I can’t believe ppl expect to run a profitable business treating ppl this way. I’m not alone in my dislike for this man and his unprofessional work ethics. Everyone who was fired or quit knows. I was even told by another ex employee that he does alot of illegal things. So I feel a duty to bring those things to light! He already lost his Boulder business due to bad business. Let’s see how long the Longmont store lasts after the public and the courts and BBB find out how he’s running things. I was hoping he would have the sense to correct the problem but evidently he wants a fight. On Joe, you’re on! :)

Not sure why it took me so long to try this place out, but I’m glad I gave it a shot! This is the only place I can find that serves a decent sized salad for under $ 6. I come here… almost every weekday. The staff is friendly, they have outdoor seating, and real plates and silverware so little waste per customer. If you are looking for a healthy, locally owned and operated(as in Joe is here almost daily behind the line, working), place to spend your lunch or dinner hour, then give this place a try. Nathan’s Favorite is my go to… every day.

Well, it used to be our favorite place in Longmont until I saw three food preparers putting their ungloved hands deep in food bowls and not using gloves either to make sandwiches/salads. We stopped eating there. Went by there a few weeks later and asked the day manager about this and she said the health department says it’s ok since they know how much the preparers wash their hands. yea right.so anyway you decide… you can prob get some great strains of hepatitis. love the food though

Great selection of pizzas with fresh ingredients and very good salads. The Nathan’s salad has an amazing variety of ingredients and is great split between two. I’m a little disappointed that they recently removed some of their non-meat options but they do vegi specials pretty consistently.

If you are craving gyros I would suggest finding another place. The meat here lacks flavor and there was no substance to it, which made the meal difficult to eat. I thoroughly did not enjoy this meal. I’m kind of sick of Longmont and their lack of food diversity. It’s as if every restaurant I go in Longmont, has no spice or kick to their food. It’s just so bland. Awful.

Well, not the place for Gyros. Ordered the gyro and it came out with 2 little strips(1.75 pieces) of meat. Inquired as to how much should be on the sandwich and they said mine was made properly. So, a huge pita and lettuce and tiny meat. Be prepared. I asked how much extra meat was and paid $ 2.71 so I could add it and make my sandwich a proper gyro that didn’t only taste like lettuce. Not a huge $ amount but then they brought it out and it was 2 more little pieces! $ 1.36 each? Wow. Disappointing experience here. Only gave it 2 stars due to the nice Greek salad I had here the other day. Won’t be coming back as there are much better sandwich shops in Longmont.

2015 Update: STILL5 stars!!! We still go on a regular basis, and actually I want to say that my hubby recently found out he’s celiac which put a damper on our eating out tastiness, BUT not at Basil Flats! He really likes their gluten free wraps, and having tasted a bite of his wrap, I too can declare that they are really good!(Although I will still be choosing the full of gluten option for my wraps.). ;-) — We’ve been going to Basil Flats for almost two years now, since we moved to Longmont! We’ve had their salads, their pizzas and their wraps! Our go to orders are the Nathan’s Favorite salad, the Chicken Riviera wrap and the Chicken Schawarma(sp?) wrap! We love going here as they are quick without being unhealthy«junky fast food», very delicious, fresh, and inexpensive! We come at least every two weeks, all year long! A great lunch or dinner option when you just want to stay out of the kitchen! ;-)

We were in the restaurant in the last 3 weeks 2x and found that the place was incredibly dirty. The condiment stands on each table was caked with crud and incredibly greasy. It was very appparent that it had not been cleaned in a long while. The booths where littered, stained and dirty as were the floors. We have always been pleased with the food there but were not able to eat our meal wondering what that kitchen must be like if this was the state of the dining room. When concerns brought the the manager’s attention, he was very, very young, we were placated with a «fresh from the bottle» condiment table set up but no achknowledgement of the crud we found there. Very, very sad because we had such high hopes for this restaurant. Now I am afraid to eat there. What the heck happened?

Great inexpensive place for dinner. One of the few places in town that has Mediterranean fare. I usually sit outside on the patio. Friendly prompt service, open kitchen, good food. They are known for the pizzas and the wraps. We used to go here more when the mall was open and I’m sure we will go more when the mall reopens. Great spot for the dinner part of dinner and a movie.

We frequent this place often and have never had anything we didn’t like. The food is fresh and local. The owner is friendly and helpful. Love the Greek salad, pizzas and falafels. They have gluten free pizza crust which is one of the best I’ve tried. They used to do a wine pairing with dinner night that they must have gotten rid of but it was also awesome and worth the extra money.

Delicious place to eat lunch! Have yet to eat dinner here since it is in Longmont and hubby is reluctant to go far unless he absolutely has to, but have had the pleasure of coming her for lunch during the week. Usually get their salads, which are very generously proportioned for the price and add grilled chicken. Can usually barely finish a regular salad, let alone the side of flatbread they also give you… we have also tried their special salads, which are usually good but my fave is still their Greek Salad, while my friend has always gotten the Caesar. Their pizzas are also very tasty, nice thin crust, just enough toppings and large enough to share if you are enjoying it with a salad. Our other friend always gets their chicken wrap, can’t remember which one, with a side of fries… nice menu full of good salad, sandwich and pizza choices… they also have some fresh baked goods available and their brownies are yummy! Indoor or outdoor seating, very friendly staff, nice atmosphere, clean and reasonably priced… definitely check it out, it’s worth the visit!

Really terrific lunch or dinner spot in Longmont! Definitely a gem. Lunch is usually pretty packed which is a great sign. The falafels are terrific as are the greek salads. The pizza and french fries are another favorite for sure. Great atmosphere and great food make for a great restaurant. Very recommended, especially for the price/value. Well done!

I’ve had the fried artichoke wrap, chicken goat cheese wrap and gyro pizza. There were ok but I wouldn’t order any of them again. Did I order the wrong things or is this place just mediocre? I like Mod Market so much better.

There’s something about this place that keeps me coming back. What was it? Oh yeah, their delicious flatbreads, the crispy thin fries, the falafel wrap, gimongous salads, fresh ingredients… etc. Get my point? Their waitstaff is extremely courteous and the place is nice and clean. I’ve tried quite a few things here and what I wouldn’t recommend as much as others(though still good) are the gyro wrap(meat was a bit strange) and the falafel plate($ 5 bucks for 5 falafels). This is a part of my weekly rotation for sure.

I happen to really enjoy my dining experiences here @ Basil Flats. It’s a no hassle eatery where you order up front and the staff will bring your order to the table of your choice. The prices are OKAY and could be a little better for the portions you receive but the ingredients are prepared well and not loaded with oil or overly seasoned. I’d say they have well balanced recipes. The layout is nice with lots of modern features. The beverage station could use a little more love and can get a little hectic if there are a few people waiting to fill their cups at the same time. The tables are equipped with condiments and they also bring out a basket of napkins and utensils along side your freshly crafted bites. You can also let the staff member know if you need anything else and they usually come back with your request quickly. Like I said, the food is good and it honestly makes me feel like I’m eating pretty healthy. I love their salads and the dressings they have. I’d say if you’re up for an Americanized twist with Mediterranean flavors, this is worth a shot if your in the area. I know I’ll be back for some more.
