I’ve been coming here for years. Food is consistent and very fairly priced. John is our favorite server. He’s so friendly and knows what we want without needing to show us a menu. Give the Kung Pao beef a shot it’s delicious!

My wife and I ate diner here tonight, we’ve been coming here for as long as it’s been here. Always very good, having said that I’m not a huge fan of Chinese food, but I Iike this place alot. My wife is a Huge fan of Chinese food and this is her favorite . It’s a nice change of from our usual fare . As of now I have decided to include in my reveiws a close up «Look see» at all Salt And Pepper shakers to include condement bottles when aplicable. Mostly for cleanliness as this has always been a pet peeve of mine BUT also for the pour rate on PEPPER shakers as they have driven me nuts for years, shake for 30 seconds and NOTHING… AHHH ! SO I am happy to report that the S&P shakers were very good ! Pepper pour or shake rate was excellent and nice and clean too . Very cool large arjuna fish to see too. Gary

Very good food and the servers work very diligently. Spicy garlic edamame and salt and pepper tofu are the vegetarian highlights for me. I have had the vegetarian egg foo yung, broccoli and garlic sauce, broccoli and cashew, and they were all good. Everything else on the meat side I am told by my dining companions is quite delicious: cashew chicken, sesame beef, sesame chicken, chicken fried rice, orange chicken, beef lo mein, wonton soup, and crab Rangoon all have been touted to me as well above average.

I have been going to Royal Wok since I started dating my wife in 1998. They used to be in the old Long John Silvers building across the street which is now Noodles and Co. What’s funny to me is that they changed the name of their appetizer sampler plate from the«Pu Pu Platter» some years ago to the«Pau Pau Platter». Too many giggles from the former name I am sure. What has turned off more than anything about this place is the prices. They charge $ 9.50 for combination fried rice??? Also, the rice in this dish is funky– it’s a little wet and sort of sticky. It’s not the standard rice I usually find in fried rice. Anyway, the waiter with the mustache is Linda’s brother and the cook is her husband. It’s a family affair, great– just lower your prices, and I might go back.

Egg rolls are greasy, crab won ton is greasy with no flavor, rice is dry and they stack soups atop each other with no barrier and cheap lids resulting in soup all over you and your car and take no responsibility for the lack of professional service.

Update, November 30, 2014. Thought we would try it again, in the mood for some Chinese food and they were nearby. What a mistake. Waste of money. The food was extremely mediocre, the curry chicken was designated hot, my grandmother could’ve eaten it, but she’s dead. at the end of our meal we were waiting for our check to show up and my wife noticed the trim on the window next to us. I then went to the restroom, and noticed the door stained it is. Check out the photos, and imagine what the kitchen must be like

Very rude staff! Not interested in customer satisfaction at all! Woman who took order was very rude and short and hung up before I could give a time to pick up order. Food was without flavor, every dish was chopped up tha same! We won’t be going back.

Horrible customer service. They gave us the wrong meal in my to go order which I didn’t discover until I got home. I understand mistakes happen but the way the owner handled the situation was beyond rude. I did try to eat the beef and broccoli I was mistakenly given but it tasted disgusting. After driving back across town(as my family ate at home) and arriving back at the restaurant, she acted like I was a bother to her that I wanted my dinner corrected. I asked if I could get new rice with my chicken(always comes standard with Chinese food) and she got pissed, rolled her eyes and said she’d have to charge me for it. My original rice was in my garbage as it was tainted by the disgusting beef and broccoli. An apology was never offered at any time. Total lack of customer service.

Adequate at best. Very greasy egg rolls. The egg foo yung was different than anything I’ve ever had. It as basically fried dough with specks of scrambled egg. Weird. Wife had a scallop dish which was decent but nothing special. We live in town and won’t be back.

Horrible business ethics and a very, very bad experience. Problem: Very rude owner. Not business smart. No customer service skills. She charged me a total of 3 times due to her credit card machine being broken. Solution: I ended up having to turn this over to my bank’s fraud department because of all the fraudulent charges(she was STILL running my card for over a week after I had been in the place). I will never eat here again. The food is mediocre«Uncle Ben’s» at best. Save your money, or you’ll end up paying $ 90 for and $ 18 meal… and then have to deal with«Linda» No thanks.

My only complaint about this restaurant is the prices are really high. Food is really good and the portions are decent. Staff is really friendly!

Attractive interior with great service. Go in there and check out their massive fish they have in their tank, wow! This is one of the few Chinese places anywhere around here you can get ‘Mei Fun’ which they do VERY well! I guess my only ‘complaint’ would be too much shrimp in the fried rice, haha

I don’t care for Chinese food, so I can’t comment on the authenticity or lack thereof of Royal Wok, but my choice of eating here and requisite review come thanks to a desperate need for a quick Christmas day lunch. Service wasn’t at all friendly, however it was efficient. We hardly waited for our entrees to arrive, and were ushered out just as soon as we finished our plates. Call it efficiency at turning tables, or whatever you want. I didn’t bother looking through the menu, as I am averse to all things in Chinese cuisine that are sweet/sticky/saucy/salty, etc., and unfortunately(or fortunately) Royal Wok is one of «those» Chinese locations. I went straight for the«For Your Good Health» section of the menu, where the dishes are purportedly prepared and served without salt, sugar, or corn starch«for a healthy, delicious meal.» So from $ 7.95 to $ 10.95 you can choose from various proteins, which are paired with plentiful steamed veggies, and of course a pot of sticky white rice on the side. I chose the steamed tofu and hubby chose the chicken. True to the menu, there was neither salt nor sugar nor day-glo bright sauces, just a plate of veggies and our protein of choice. With some soy sauce and a dash of pepper, they actually weren’t half-bad, hence the 3-star rating for a cuisine I’m still trying to find a liking for! Hubby also ordered a side of egg rolls(2), and could only eat one, so they probably weren’t very good, and he is a fan of these sorts of Chinese joints. Food was obviously on the cheap, and it was quick, and it was Christmas.

This place sucks in many respects. First, the most important part: the food tastes worse than bad. I ordered without great expectations — other than edible food. I would not feed this food to my worst enemies. I went there in somewhat of a hurry and very hungry. I was greeted — wait, I was not greeted, I was scowled at when I walked in. No smile, no «Welcome» more like this vibe from the person at the host(ess) station — an older fat asian woman — of complete contempt for me. I did not care about her — I was hungry and had not eaten all day. After the rude person seated me — again with complete contempt — I was approached by a rude wait person who also conveyed some inexplicable deep hatred of me. Again, I did not care. I was hungry and wanted food. The food arrived — after about 25 minutes — was piping hot and, after it cooled, I took a bite(sesame chicken). It tasted horrible. AND I WASFAMISHED! I was so hungry that I had no time to complain — I just wanted to get something palatable in my mouth that would not make me feel like throwing up. I thus went to Burger King across the parking lot and ordered a whopper. My advice: Do not waste your money on the Royal Wok — it tastes like crap and is probably less sanitary and healthy than the food at BK or Mickey D’s or Taco Bell — and I say that more or less hating those places.

The service was friendly, prompt, and the restaurant had a great ambiance. The egg drop soup and wontons made great appetizers. Entrees came out quickly… Maybe too quickly, as we hadn’t even gone halfway through our appetizers. Oh well. I’d rather have it come fast than not.

Just your typical average Chinese joint. If you have a craving for Chinese and you’re nearby, they’re decent enough.

Warning: Do not eat at an Asian restaurant where Asians do not eat at. Our server was fine. He seemed a bit run down, but I can imagine in that restaurant, everything and everyone must be. That poor kitchen crew… I can only imagine what it’s like behind their closed doors. The food was severely less than mediocre. The restaurant smelled of burnt hair for awhile during our meal, which we thought was strange. I barely touched my meal. The inside of my eggroll was grey and slimy. I presume it was filled with cabbage, but I’m not quite sure in retrospect, and my entrée had no flavor what so ever. It was just brown. Besides the awful food, another thing that really did it for me was when we were cashing out, a woman, who I believe was as least partial owner, let someone cut ahead of us to make a take out order and completely ignored us when we thanked her. We didn’t even get a head nod or eye contact. Nothing. She is clearly there solely to make money. Maybe if the food was better and she recognized her patrons for spending money at her establishment, it would be more than just a gross«Chinese» restaurant in Longmont, CO.

I’ve had crappy generics Chinese food all over the world. I love this place especially the vegetable fried rice and the duck.

I just recently started coming back here(new location for a while now) after moving back to Longmont, and I remember absolutely loving the food here. The new location is good for them, definitely an upgrade and a place where the kitchen can’t heat up the entire dining area. Since I’ve been back the food has been generally as good(lo mein seems to have taken a hit, but the egg drop soup is still fantastic). The service is very friendly(aside from the lady at the front who is so brusque and bitter that it has always been a bit laughable rather than a cause for genuine concern). And even when it’s quite busy, there is hardly a wait on tables or orders. Overall, great(greasy, Americanized) Chinese food. I love it!

I’m irked by stingy restaurants. Specifically, Chinese restaurants that only give you one bowl of rice. More specifically, Chinese restaurants that charge you for extra rice when it costs pennies for pounds. Nothing we had this night will call us to return. The eggrolls were flavorless and greasy; didn’t even finish mine. When the Happy Family arrived at our table, I knew I was in for a bland meal. Every thing had a dull brown sheen to it, that sauce lacked flavor and depth. The scallops were tender, but what good is that without flavor. Even the red sweet and sour sauce that they served with the free fried wonton chips lacked that tangy sourness that gets those saliva glands workin’. I’m on a quest you guys, I’m on a serious hunt for GOOD FLavorFUL Chinese food. Not Thai or VIetnamese, or Japanese, but CHINESE food. I’ve had a bad run of Chinese places and I realized that most of my high ratings Asian places were not Chinese… I’m off! I’m gone! I’m not comin’ back here!
