Worst restaurant experience ever! This place closes at 2:00, they kicked us out at 2:06. We hadn’t finished our tea and the waitress asked us to leave. As a business owner, you have to think how to run your business before you open a customer facing establishment. Why couldn’t you wait until we finished our meal? It’s no wonder the place was completely empty. You can’t treat customers that way and expect us to return.

Sushi here is absolutely delicious. We used to travel from Longmont to Broomfield to eat at happy sumo but this place is so much better! Great environment and very nice staff. This is our new goto Sushi place!

It’s quite possible that some of the nicest people in Colorado work here… and thanks to the experience, I now have a whole new appreciation for sushi restaurants in Longmont. I’m always suspicious of sushi that comes to a landlocked location. Colorado/Longmont is landlocked and in the mountains, so where does the fresh fish come from? But the fish here is super fresh and just as good as that which I’ve experienced seaside. I had that sashimi platter and the fish was buttery soft and paired well with accoutrements. One of my foodie coworkers ate at a different time and had the pleasure of sitting at the sushi bar. He was pampered by the chef who made him custom dishes… and raved about the experience/food for days after.

Sushi Leo, in my opinion, is by far the best sushi restaurant in Longmont. I’ve been for 5+ years I and have never left disappointed!

The Seared Fatty Tuna Nigiri was pretty good, but didn’t have much of a seared flavor, and didn’t melt in your mouth like the other person’s Unilocal review had me hoping. The Lobster Roll wasn’t super tasty, it was just OK. The Spicy Bacon Edamame was very good, and different.

Owners are not fair to employees. I was in on Nov.6th and witnessed the sushi bar chef yelling at his servers because the sushi was taking forever and guests were complaining!!! Why this is the servers fault, I can’t say. The rolls fall apart and cannot be picked up properly. Though the sushi chef told the server it was supposed to be that way? The next night we wanted to get take out and were told that the sushi bar was very busy and it would take 1.5hrs…when we came to get it it still wasn’t ready. When the server asked when it would be available she was yelled at. Our server was Shannon, she did an outstanding job despite the challenging environment. We will never eat here again! I feel sorry for the staff. Seems like they are really trying and being abused.

My husband and I had been going here weekly for dinner and I also recently started getting takeout for lunch. Today is the last day I will ever do business here because I noticed on my credit card statement from recent takeout visits that the charges differ from the copies of the receipts from the restaurant. I will have to wait and see what today’s credit card charge amount shows up as. Their website states that takeout orders over $ 40 will have 10% added to the total however my bills were $ 20-$ 30 and have extra amounts added to them which weren’t on the bills I signed. It seems that they have been helping themselves to extra unauthorized money/tips. This issue aside, I’m not sure why they can’t seem to wrap the sushi rolls tightly so they aren’t loose and falling apart and not overcook the salmon so it’s not so dry.

My favorite sushi place when I’m in the mood to splurge and get some fancy specialty stuff. They carry Shima Aji when it is in season! Almost nobody does that! The fancy rolls are really creative and made with good quality ingredients.

The food is great. Period. This review is for the service. Asked for a menu. Never came. Asked if we could sit outside. Never answered after we were told they would ask. Ordered 6 rolls. 5 came. Water never replenished. Asked for to go boxes. Then we were asked if we wanted boxes. Gave them amounts to put on credit cards. One card was charged the right amount. The other was charged for everything including the amount already charged on the other card. Asked for new charge amount and never given. Bottom line: GETYOURFOODTOGO!!! Enjoy your food at home where you don’t have to wait for 20something’s who have never been a server in their life before.

Worst sushi I’ve ever had. Old food. Old food. Don’t eat here. The sushi is wrapped poorly. Can’t even grab it with chop sticks bc the roll just completely breaks apart and the insides fall out. You’ll regret eating here. I strongly encourage you to eat elsewhere. I even posted a photo of my order. Too bad I ate the roll with the aged lettuce. I politely let the waitress know about the poor quality of food and she told me that this is how traditional sushi is. Traditional sushi are wrapped to fall apart. I didn’t hesitate to pay my bill as I did eat the food. That’s $ 20 wasted. I travel for a living and this place just sucks

The food was very good. The service was friendly. I had the rainbow roll which is a standard test for me of first time visits and it was good. The spicy salmon was also good. I saw the sushi chef making the Leo Roll and wished I had ordered that instead of the yellow tail sashimi. The sashimi was excellent but I like rolls better. Next time I will be getting the Leo Roll.

Was looking forward to having Sushi Leo on Saturday and went with a few of my friends for lunch. We parked and saw the door was open so we walked in and were greeted not so fondly by an employee that immediately told us that they were closed. Which isn’t the worst news in the world until we walked out disappointed that we couldn’t eat there and as we expressed our disappointment to each other he made fun of our voices and what we were saying… Uncomfortable encounter & we definitely will not be back.

This place isn’t worth trying. Prices are too high, the servers we had sucked, and atmosphere is nonexistent. The food isn’t terrible, but for the price and experience I wouldn’t recommend it.

This is a follow up to a review. I’m sorry I didn’t search through the menu to make sure a can of soda didn’t have a 1300 percent mark up. My bad. To comment on that review the way you did is pathetic. Sub-par sushi goes great with a classless establishment. I DONOTRECOMMENDTHISRESTAURANT. Go to benihanas at least you get what you pay for.

Great sushi like Tokyo. Clean and nice. Expect the better service, but good quality Japanese sushi.

I don’t quite have the words to adequately express my love for Sushi Leo. Mori-San, the owner, goes above and beyond to procure quality fish on a weekly basis, while Craig, Yik and Tu make amazing items with said fish. I recommend breaking out of the roll rut and asking for omakase, which is chef’s choice. Give them a dollar amount, and they will prepare something that will cease conversation at your table until every last morsel is gone. Consider sitting at the bar so you can watch them in action. You will witness some killer knife skills, as well as some amazing creativity(and you will get a kick out of chatting with them!) Their Facebook page is updated weekly when they get their fish shipment. We always go when there’s fresh aji, amaebi, toro and anago. So amazingly tasty!

Our 14th Wedding Anniversary and I wanted to try some REAL sushi. I got adventurous and tried the Sushi Platter(I think this is what it’s called-sorry) which has mackerel, swordfish, tuna, salmon, shrimp and eel. It also has a California roll to balance out the other stuff. I should preface by saying I usually go for the«safe» sushi that has lots of rice & other stuff with the fish as the smallest portion of the bite. I was pleasantly surprised. The salmon especially was soft & creamy. Almost like the texture of gooey, muscle-y chocolate. I can’t think of another way to describe it. I know I sound like a rube but I’m not an adventurous eater. The waiter was very friendly & pleasant, the location was quiet & inviting. I’d go again.

Our first visit to Sushi Leo and we were very pleased. We shared a 22oz Kirin(a bit pricy at $ 8.50) and started out with edamame. It was cheap at $ 2.50 but it was a smallish portion… expertly prepared, I will add. We are picky sushi eaters. We’ve had enough really good sushi(and for that matter, REALLY bad sushi) to have strong opinions about what we like. We often order one of the more creative or interesting sounding rolls on the menu — as long as it’s not outrageously priced, which they often are — and we pay close attention to the texture and the flavor of the nigiri(fish on rice). Here’s a breakdown of what we ordered: Unagi(fresh water eel) $ 4.80 — excellent, served warm Shake(salmon) $ 4.80 — excellent, flavorful and nice, tender texture Maguro(tuna) $ 4.80 — good, nice texture but lacking in flavor Spicy Salmon roll(salmon, spicy mayo mix, cucumber) $ 7 — it was nice to see salmon for a change, most often you’ll see a spicy tuna roll(which they also offer) but this was really good; highly recommend Ragin’ Cajun(jalapeño stuffed with a mixture of crawfish and cream cheese, avocado, lettuce and tempura fried) On Special $ 12.50 — this was our splurge for something interesting and it didn’t disappoint; I don’t know how often they get it but it was delicious Our server was friendly and attentive, the atmosphere was nice — no wait at 7:15p on a Saturday. They are certainly not the cheapest sushi you’ll ever have, nor are they the most expensive, but I will say that they pack a great value for what you will pay. A few more visits will tell for sure, but this may be our new fave sushi joint in town.
