Stopped here last night for a quick dinner to take home. Between three of us we ordered 2 burritos and 2 tacos. Got it home and one burrito was ice cold. The other burrito was ordered with no onions so I guess that means all you get is meat and a liquid green goo that is supposed to be guacamole. What happened to beans, tomatoes, lettuce and sour cream being included in a burrito? I think that’s a pretty standard expectation. Anyway, the ice cold burrito at least had pico de gallo, so I guess they omit that when you ask for no onions. The tacos were also sub par and boring. The hot sauces they give you are neither hot nor tasty. The red is just tomato sauce. The only saving grace was the flavor of the meat– it had good potential, but failed miserably. Spend your money somewhere else. Taco Bell would have been a better option and we all know that’s not good Mexican food.

Great carnitas tacos and grilled chicken tacos. The customer service is iffy. If you get the girl she’s very sweet but the guy with glasses is really rude. Kind of acts like he hates white people! I asked for extra red sauce and he wouldn’t give it to me unless I gave him the bag of food back! He proceeded to remove all of the other hot sauce from the bag and then only give me the extras I asked for! He then before giving me the bag back looked at the credit card receipt and when he saw I didn’t tip him he crumpled it up and pretty much threw it at me stating«I DONTNEEDTHIS» ! What a dick! If you were polite I might tip you for the 6 steps it took you to hand me my food! Suck it jerk!

The food is quite good! It was very quick which is why I chose to go there again. But both times I have been there the guy questioned why I didnt/did want hot sauce. Then after that he hit on me… So creepy. Dont go at night!

Food is very good and authentic(try the churros, don’t bother with the guac). Service is so-so.

Came by here last night, and the supposedly«open 24 hours» drive thru was unmanned. Nobody at the menu speaker, drove up and nobody at the window even though the lights were on. I knocked on the window for a bit and even called the place twice and there was no response. Unless there was some serious justification for this negligence I’m ever coming back here again.

This place has been good every time we’ve stopped. More California style, which I like. They make a good bean and cheese and use the big, thin tortillas which is not always the case around here. Also, the kids love the taquitos because they are small, fried and come in large orders with guac. and cheese(yum). They only have a drive/walk-up but there are tables outside and you can get the car washed across the street while you grub, bonus!

Could a place get my order anymore wrong than this place. OMG. The drive through person was not into his job today. My order was nothing like I said. I even asked him to repeat it back to me because he kept getting it wrong. The food was bland and greasy. It was very slow in arriving. If you hate your job then quit, but don’t take your blasé attitude out on the consumer. Even the tiny red and green sauce was bland. I couldn’t tell if I was eating paper or Mexican food. DONTWASTEYOURTIMEORYOURMONEY. It’s not worth the wait for your«food».

Don’t blink or you’ll miss this place. It’s a really small building but it packs a huge punch! Drive-thru or walk-up only. There are a few tables outside you can use if the weather is nice. I’m not a big fan of Mexican food but I really love this place. It reminds me of the taco joints in California. They have excellent shredded beef tacos! YUM!

never personally ate here, but have taken my bf here twice now. he seems to really like the food! i would love to try it but the menu at the drive thru, the text is so small, that i cant even read it! this is my first reason this is not getting 5 stars. My second reason is this past saturday I took my bf thru the drive thru, and we waited about 3 minutes in silence waiting for someone to greet us to take our order. My bf had to say«hello?!» which then a man replied«go ahead» Really?! what kind of service is that? A professional business would greet a customer right as they pulled up. good food, poor service.

not good food at all. there are so many Mexican options in Longmont, but we had to eat a late dinner last night, so we hesitantly tried this place. The«meat» in the carne asada burrito was chewy and veeerrryy bland. this was like microwaved frozen food, and it was terrible

24 hour Mexican that’s NOT Taco Bell? Yes, por favor! Been through once, a few weeks ago, to try something new. Enjoyed it very much — great bean burrito and shredded beef taco — you can tell that they are fresh tortillas, not from a factory, and the taco shell had been fried just before serving — not from a box, it was divine. Simple, inexpensive food, not too highly seasoned, but that’s what salsa is for! It made me happy. My boyfriend’s chimichanga was tasty, as well. Couple of downsides — the menu posted out in the drive thru is too small to read, so I ordered what I felt like eating and hoped for the best. Also, the guacamole was the one thing that was not freshly made and tasted like it came from a pouch — not good. I would have given the place 4 stars if not for that.

I’ve been here three times now. Their machaca breakfast burritos remind me of three favorite places from Grand Junction, Glenwood Springs, and Pueblo. Keep in mind that perhaps speaking Spanish might be a plus. I have not yet received an accurate order. Perhaps they do not listen or perhaps I do not speak clearly, but when ordering more than one item, I’ve been disappointed each time. Food is good, greasy, mexican food typical of this kind of establishment, though I consider it quite pricy for the same items I’ve gotten in other cities for far cheaper. I haven’t seen a $ 4.00 burrito like the guy below has. In the end, it is good, but go for the food, not the price.

If you like lettuce and onion you will like this place. If you like filling(i.e. meat) then stay away.

Best breakfast burrito I’ve found on the front range. A little pricier than others, for the size and taste it’s worth it. Looking forward to trying their other menu items!

Not sure if I chose the most bland item on the menu but I can’t imagine anything topping it. I ordered a chicken burrito and it came with NOTHING but chicken in a tortilla. I’m not sure there was even seasoning on the meat. Just straight up bland, plain chicken in a bland, plain tortilla. I was surprised and a little saddened that taco bell trumps taco star. I wasn’t poisoned and it didn’t seen like they spit in my food so that gave them 1 star but I’d rather grab 10 mints on the way out of a bar to tide me over until morning than eat their food just for the sake of eating. Mints are cheaper and are more flavorful.

Mexi-Cali California is littered with uuhhh-mazing Mexican food. From cheap hole-in-the walls to exquisite Mexican dining. Taco Star definiitely reminds me of your typical white-washed«ethnic» establshment from Cali. Here in Longmont, I find that there is no shortage of those types of same places here. I honestly have not been to one of them since I’m new to the area and would much rather check out new places and cuisines. Mexican just hasn’t been the flavor of the week yet. Taco Star is one of the ONLY Mexican joints I’ve been to while here in CO. The main reason is because it’s literally 2 minutes away from my house, open 24hrs, and has a drive-thru. So convenience is what brings me here. This place is not extremely authentic and serves the basics: burritos, tacos, churros… if you get my drift. Nothing super fancy or too labor intensive. I have a recent new found love for drive-thrus. So, this was a plus for Taco Star but they aren’t very fast. It takes a few solid minutes to receive your food. Assembled and heated to order. The food itself is pretty good and very reminiscent of the typical Albert/Alberto/Alerto/etc Taco restaurants that high schoolers and college students tend to frequent(I’m assuming they have those here too). –2 stars due to the hefty price you pay for this type of fare and quality. Standard stock tasting food which is just fine especially when it’s at the later end of the night when other places are not open. Nothing special but they do get the job done!

Really great mexican food — at a drive thru! This place has saved dinner time for my family more than once. Tacos and burritos are great, it’s fast, easy and surprisingly good.

I love good Mexican fast food, and this is far and away the best available. And the prices are very reasonable. I feel fortunate to live near a Taco Star. My life is complete.

This Taco Star location has opened in the location where Good Times used to be. As far as the food goes I have no complaints. They serve really good and authentic Mexican food here at very reasonable prices. Much of the food’s style, taste and price are comparable to a traditional taqueria. I ordered the Asada Torta which tasted good! I will definitely go back for more visits. The location itself though I am not impressed with. The building is so small there is no place to sit on the inside. On the outside there are great dining tables and that is fine as long as the weather is good but if not you will probably have to eat in your car and eating an Asada Torta is anything but not messy so good luck on that. Grab lots of napkins I guess or hope your house or work are close by.
