Always fast, always delicious because these people know what food should taste like. It’s fresh, clean and no trace of the 3 pm slump since the majority of the food is meant to nourish the body. Gyros Gyros is never a guilty pleasure, just a wonderful spot for Mediterranean inspired cuisine. Keep up the good work.

Been wanting to go here was absolutely delightful the owner /waiter was awesome with his detailed explanation of his farm, his wife, and every item on the menu! The lamb shanks melted in your mouth. I don’t like onions or carrots amd I ate both happily. they were amazing. Lamb kabobs were herbaceous and screamingly delicious. the appetizer had bacon on it that was not lille bacon you would taste anywhere else. Baklava was spectacular and they had a cake that was so gloss that cake doesn’t seem like a good enough name for it. The homemade mint tea from mint grown on the owners farm was an additional treat. don’t miss out on this hidden gem

Experience great dining in a small town! Lunch hour is hummus, pita bread, gyros and others. Must try. But the daily changing dinner menu every Thursday-Saturday night is a must! Surprise menu that never fails. We love this place! Chris and wife are a great team. :)

Driving up I-5 to Seattle, looking for local fare, Gyros Gyros Bowers Down exceeded expectations. Fast, friendly, and most important, delicious food! The chicken slouvaki hit the spot for my meat loving boyfriend. The falafel pita was so tasty with fresh tomatoes and lettuce, and the tzatziki sauce was home made deliciousness. Perfect amount of food. Do it, you won’t regret it. Local tips: Walk up to the counter to see the menu and order, grab the key at the counter for the loo.

Great food. Friendly staff. Stopped for lunch and was amazed by the dinner menu. Great farm to table restaurant. Split 2 specials with my wife and daughter and was full by the end. Lower level, in case you miss the sign. Would eat here again!

Amazingly fresh food and great service. I was so impressed by how good this place was. I was in town for a business trip, and I kid you not, I had lunch there three days in a row. The gyro, Greek salad, spanakopita, pita bread /hummus, and mint tea are all fabulous.

Bowers Down is a hidden gem in the heart of Longview. The food is all locally sourced from their farm and nearby vendors. We have eaten here many times and each meal is better than the last. Chris is an amazing server and gives detailed descriptions of the food and wines. Andrea is a gifted chef and her take on the dishes is always gourmet and truly delicious! We must support our local gems.

The place is beautiful inside. The Gyro is freaking Great. The meat delicious and the pita they use is really really good. The Vegan option my husband had was delicious as well. The missing 5th star is for not so good fries. I am looking forward to trying their Farm to Table dinner menu. The layout of interior is very warm and inviting. If you are in the Longview/Kelso area you should try them out. And the ginger running the front of the house es muy guapo.

One of my favorite places to eat. Honey feta fries are amazing. Falafel is wonderful. I have never been disappointed with my meal no matter what I’ve ordered.

The best place to eat in Longview, hands down. No, you won’t find the typical«American fare» of burgers and fries. Yes, it is a farm to table restaurant so it may feel a little different. But the flavorful food keeps us coming back! We’ve been on weekends and also for the dinner, both delicious. The lamb option that was available for the dinner we were at, was incredible. The wine, beer, and cider selection does rotate a little but there’s usually something for everyone, and the home made sodas are good(again, not going to taste like Pepsi) and not something you can find everywhere! Pricewise, it may be a little more than you’d spend elsewhere(but it wasn’t extreme for lunch or even the dinner) and the quality is outstanding. It’s a restaurant that could stand up in a bigger city easily. Thankful they’re in Longview and hope they’ll stay many years.

Always a good choice for lunch or dinner. There are not many places in town I would recommend with 5 stars but I have never been disappointed with the food or the service at this establishment. Farm to table? Yes please! You had me at Gyros. I miss eating the falafel since I discovered I have a gluten sensitivity, but I encourage everyone to eat here because they have other options(including vegetarian yay), and it is the best Mediterranean style cuisine I have ever had since my visit to Israel. That’s saying something because I have frequented Mediterranean food trucks & restaurants and none have quite nailed it like these lovely folks. With solid beer and wine choices, mint tea, coffee, and homemade sodas, I’m never thirsty that’s for sure. Thank you for bringing such good FRESH food and such a wonderfully unique dining experience to the Longview area. Thank you for caring enough about the quality of food and where it’s coming from before you serve it to the public. It makes me feel like I’m going to a really good friend’s house to eat. Everything about the menu and the atmosphere is inviting.

A great experience. Dinner selection is limited but I wanted to try it all. Also they limit themselves to 20 dinners per evening due to the local sourcing of ingredients in limited quantities. Well seasoned and presented; I will return to try another dinner.

The place looks great after you open the door, do not let the walk down the stairs freak you out. The food is good. The pita was soft and warm with a good texture. The gyro was awesome! The baklava was good, but not my all time favorite. They make different sodas with a good variety of flavor. The price was okay, not the cheapest or most costly. The owner was the one who ushered me to the counter where you order lunch. He might have just been busy, but it never hurts to make small talk or offer suggestions to a new customer. In all good food and not bad on the prices. I will likely go back, but it won’t be a regular stop.

In a small town such as Longview it is sometimes hard to find places to dine that can provide fresh, delicious food with a great atmosphere, and amazing staff. Gyros Gyros/Bowers Down delivers all of that and more. We visit the area every few weeks for business. When we do, I demand that we grab a lamb gyro from here. I do not have the words to adequately describe the heaven that explodes in my mouth when I take a bite. The soft warm pita that’s slightly grilled filled with bright creamy tzatziki sauce, the sharp bite of fresh onion, and the lamb that just melts in your mouth. I have also tried the spanakopita and several of their salads. They are all worthy of praise. The owners and staff are friendly, funny and really make the whole experience so enjoyable. The old records hanging on the wall are a delight to look at. The table and chairs are«eclectic vintage» and comfy. They guide us to eat in the cozy little alcove next to the fireplace. Bless their romantic hearts. I also love that when asked, they can tell you what farm their ingredients come from. Usually from their own. I have yet to be in town to try their dinner options but hope to do so soon.

Bowers Down is really two very different restaurants in one. It all depends when you visit. During lunch hour they serve gyros. Dinner time is a totally different experience and a whole different menu. The dinner restaurant is only open three evenings a week and reservations are required since they only serve a small group. The dinner menu changes daily as food is specially prepared for each guest present. Food served is fresh and farm to table. Many items are fresh picked that day. Meat and vegetables are from the owner’s farm or a neighbor’s. How much fresher can the food get? Our menu started with a few starters that looked delicious. However, I know if I start with something, I’m usually too full to finish the meal. So we passed on starters this time and went straight to the farm-to-table portion. There are other Mediterranean house specialties but the center of the menu caught our attention. That’s what we wanted to try most. The three farm-to-table options for this evening were Lamb Kebabs, Vietnamese Pork Chops and a Summer Chicken Salad. It was hard to decide what to try but at our table all three of these dishes were covered and we knew we’d be able to taste what we didn’t order. We also got to sample their homemade pita bread — amazing! We were stuffed after finishing our meals but the dessert menu was hard to pass up. We didn’t. There were several choices but the zucchini cobbler caught our eye. WOW. We never expected it to be so good but it was off the charts. Everything was fresh, delicious and service second to none. We will be back. I know the menu will be different next time and that’s exciting too. I’m even going to try them during lunch when they serve the gyros. After sampling their pita bread, I just have to do that. The owner explained every dish on the menu to us. We received excellent attention. The restaurant is interesting. We loved the décor. Every table is unique. The restaurant had a huge wine bar and an interesting setting.

Went in for lunch and decided to order a chicken souvlaki sandwich to-go. This was ready ridicoulously fast. Things made too fast make me question quality. The chicken in the sanwich turned out to be really bad. Completely unseasoned, not grilled at all, and cut poorly. It literally grossed me out to keep eating it, but since I had paid close to $ 10 for just a sanwich and I was hungry, I needed to get my money out of the thing. There isn’t much more to say here. The service was friendly, but based on the food quality and the price, I can’t recommend Gyros Gyros at all. Sadly, this was one of the worst gyro-type sandwiches I’ve ever had.

Warning! If you have a hard time with stairs this restaurant will not work for you as it is down a flight of stairs. We went to Bowers Down for dinner on a Friday night with 2 other couples. MAKE A RESERVATION! The Owner said they have to know by 3pm that day how many they are cooking for. I gave Bowers Down the 4 stars for having no MSG, knowing where their ingredients came from, educating us on where they came from(I wish I’d listened harder on the Kielbasa, because I’m not normally a sausage fan and it was amazing!), and being honest. The genuine sincerity and passion for their food came through clearly and I greatly enjoyed that. What I liked was: 1. The Owner himself was serving, so he answered our questions easily. 2. There was no MSG to be found! I ate here safely and appreciated it. 3. The Owner knew the wines and gave us tastes to see what our preference was. He was able to talk about the winery, ‘notes’ of the wine, etc.(much was over my head but others at the table understood) 4. The food was homemade and they knew what went in to what. 5. They didn’t tell us when they were closed, but let us hang out with our wine bottle until almost 9:30. Apparently the menu is always changing. I do not know if there is a way to see the current days menu, but I would have to see the menu before going again. The food wasn’t what my Sweetheart typically eats, while the flavors were of concern to me. For example, I ended up ordering the steak, which had a coffee and anise crust. What? Anise? Really? Licorice flavor on a steak? Well, it was tasty but weird. I would not get it again, nor would the other person at the table who also had the steak. I wish I had just asked for the steak without the anise. Also our steaks were overdone. Now, I’m a medium to medium well girl, but there were spots that were over done and spots that were perfect. The other person at the table with the steak simply said his was too cooked. The folks who ordered the lamb ribs were thrilled with them. They came with a potato gratin that they loved. Our steaks just came with huge baked potatoes, but we were not offered sour cream, etc., and I forgot to ask. I did have to ask for the salt and pepper. Another person at the table ordered the sliders, which I’d thought about, but the menu said they were spicy. The person who got them said they were delicious and not spicy. I wish I had tried them. My Sweetheart and I both were unsure of the lamb, as it’s so easy to go wrong in cooking, and not a flavor we experience often. He ended up ordering the lamb stew which was obviously homemade and delicious! Very very tasty, but he didn’t stay full long. Not sure why on that, but he was hungry a couple of hours later. He said there wasn’t a lot of lamb in it, so maybe it would have stuck around longer. All at the table LOVED the appetizer which had pita bread, a local kielbasa sausage, goat cheese, some other local cheese and almonds. However we weren’t given little plates to dish it out. How awkward it was to pass the one plate around and get what you wanted then pass it on. We should have requested plates, but this was my first visit and I wasn’t sure how things were done. The Pot de Crème desserts were like a truffle in a bowl. We enjoyed the baklava greatly. My concern would be that if they continue to have such a combination of unique flavors, they might leave people like me rather ambivalent in their desire to return. Yes, I want that quality of food. But, they had run out of the other items I might have ordered(it’s a very small menu as they are cooking fresh every day), and I would have liked to know I could have the option of ordering the steak the way I wanted it cooked as well as with flavors I preferred. The anise was just not fabulous on the steak. It was interesting, but not fabulous. My Sweetheart won’t care to return on his own. But I would because I’m more adventurous. I think we both would be there if we could see the menu ahead of time and know what days we would have a preference for what was being cooked.
