I drive from Astoria to here if I want something special to put on a gift package. So when a first birthday for our granddaughter was less than a week away I came here… certainly Hallmark will have exactly what I need… Oh was I so wrong. No special ANYTHING for a first birthday. I realized quickly I was bordering on being a remissful grandma and up sh*t crick… no special balloon, no first birthday paper. And card choices limited… I guess first birthdays aren’t the milestones that«over the hill» is. And by the time she reaches«over the hill» for me to buy that something special. I shall be a very ripe old age of 110 and won’t be driving… Among other possibilities BTW Wal-mart, Target and Toys r us, don’t carry first birthday anything either… Guess having a first birthday isn’t important… But haven’t we all turned one once?!

Nice shop with a lot to choose from. Many different types of collectables that are normally found cluttering the shelves of American homes everywhere. I shall always be amazed at what catches the eyes of people and drives them to collect them in droves. Impressive selection of the specialty Christmas ornaments including many of the«retired ones» from last year. If this is your thing, this location will make you a happy camper. My inner-geek was impressed with the cool Star Wars ornaments… too bad we are pagan and don’t do the typical Christmas thang anymore. Prices seemed typical for Hallmark stores. This location seemed to be over-staffed with quite a few associates on the floor, but few of them going out of their way to offer help. We were only asked by one of them, who was oddly asking from a distance of about 18 feet away if we needed anything. The gab session with her co-workers must have been more exciting to actually walking up to speak to a customer in a professional manner. NOTE to OWNER — I realize sales are slow in the off season and it is hard to find good help, but wouldn’t it be better to hire on and staff a couple of really good employees, than have an army of sub-par and mediocre ones on a shift ??
