I visited Café on the Corner on a Friday(early evening). Restaurant was not busy so as I chose my seat I noticed they had a very clean and modern décor. My server was very attentive and helpful. The chef came out and visited and ask me how my food and experience was. I ordered the burger with some of that delicious aioli and some of their homemade potato chips which were perfection. My burger was delicious and it was a good value at about $ 9 and I truly enjoyed the drive up through the Lookout points of Chattanooga!

Beautiful restaurant and location! We went for Sunday brunch and had nice, attentive service and a delicious meal to end our trip in Chattanooga. My husband ordered the«chicken and waffles» and said it was delicious but he wished the dish came with hot syrup(vs the sweet chili sauce). I had the turkey avacodo club and it was delicious and filling. We had a wonderful visit and will definitely visit again when we are in Chattanooga!

Checked Unilocal and stopped here for Brunch today based on reviews — The Memphis was suggested to us — baked grits patty with fried egg and a super bacon sauce or salsa. Not real crowded but it made the service excellent.

This place is awesome. Had the open faced meatloaf sandwich and wife had the turkey club and the flavor and freshness was awesome. Got it to go since it was snowing and even 20 minutes later was yum. Good job!

OK, back in the saddle. ;-) Have been wanting to eat here for several years now. Then it burned down and our first visit was delayed. I’m glad we finally made it. The prices here are no more than your average themed restaurant, but the atmosphere, food, and service are far better. The only negative thing was when we first got there. A tall young man at the host stand said, «Do you mind eating at a high table?» Plenty of tables open BTW. Usually we wouldn’t mind, but today we felt like chilling at a regular table. So he and a young lady started discussing where we are going to sit. The place is only half full, keep in mind. I looked at my wife and shrugged my shoulders like, what the heck? They continued to whisper and scratch with a pencil on something. Finally, they decide on a table for us. We followed them back to the table. It was a very narrow two-seater at the back of the restaurant. I said, «Are you all expecting a lot of people?» He said, «No.» So I said, «Can we have a bigger table?» He brought us to a four-seater and we finally were comfortable. Sheesh. From then on it was all good. We had a superb server in Arthur. We ordered coffee, the Memphis, the Fried Green Tomato BLT, and the blue cheese cole slaw off the Sunday brunch menu. The Memphis consists of two fried grits cakes with two fried eggs on top and Benton’s bacon tomato confit. Incredible. Served hot, nicely plated. Wonderful. Wife’s coffee was very good. My BLT was delicious. One thing: Only two slices of Benton’s bacon and only two small slices of tomato on the sandwich. Benton’s bacon(the best in the world) is potent, but I would add one more slice of bacon and definitely one more slice of tomato, cut in half.(That way you have a slice and a half on each half of sandwich. But it was delicious and the fries were good and hot. The slaw was good but we didn’t really taste the blue cheese in it. Really nice, classy atmosphere. Look forward to returning to Café on the Corner!

Newly reopened after the fire, the place looks even better and the food is just as great! Had the turkey avocado club — lovely crunch and flavor. Mashed potatoes were delightful! Loving the full bar and craft beer options.

Great service and food was good. Yet, the ribs had a large amount of fat on them and the staff was overwhelmed. This was Memorial Day weekend. We would definitely go back during a slower season.

An absolutely amazing meal. We started with the Fried Green Tomatoes, a recommendation from our server. They were absolutely stunning-I almost ordered a second round! For my main course, I ordered Meatloaf, my wife had the Southern Barbecue Chicken Sandwich. Both came out great. We’ll definitely go back the next time we’re on lookout mountain!

I depend on honest reviews when choosing a place to eat when I’m on vacation. I chose this place based on the reviews. It was pretty much what I expected. Very nice atmosphere and friendly, quick service. The meal was«ok». The meatloaf was cool in the center indicating it was not cooked all the way after being pulled from the fridge. The«pecan pie» is NOT pecan pie. It was some kind of chocolate pie with pecans on top. It reminded me of something I would get from the snack machine at work. The price point is pretty high considering it’s not«fresh» food. However, if you are looking for a nice place to eat between tourist attractions on Lookout Mountain… this is the place.

The food is far superior to the service. All four of our meals were great, but my daughter didn’t get her drink until we reminded our server. When it was time to pay, our server was nowhere to be found. Took our check to the bar. Our server was there, but didn’t even acknowledge us, much less apologize.

This is a great place! The owner of our b&b recommended we stop by this place and we were not disappointed. I had the pork chop and my boyfriend had the special of the night which was the salmon. The food was delicious and quick, our server was well informed he knew what he was doing and what he was selling. We would definitely go back there!

This is a restaurant where the chef is well refined and knows what he is doing. Amazing balance of flavor and portion. Full but want to eat that last little bite. We had great service. I don’t know how it is at noon or dinner but they were very friendly.

They have a bloody mary bar which was a nice addition for my Sunday Brunch. I ordered the fried green tomato blt. It made my belly happy:) This was my stop for food between Ruby Falls and Rock City. We had been going a bit nutso at Ruby falls with all the screaming kids that were in the cave. So when I saw this place and that it had a patio and bloody mary bar I was about it. Let’s just say this place was a life saver. I got a nice little buzz on which took the edge off. I felt able to be around more screaming kids without loosing my mind.

Had lunch here while on Lookout Mountain one Saturday. It’s in a great location, and there aren’t that many other options nearby. The ambiance is nice, with a fireplace in one corner, plenty of space between tables and upscale décor. The service was excellent. Most importantly, the food was very good, although not cheap. I had the soup and sandwich combo, which came with a cup of soup and half a sandwich. the sandwich options are turkey and grilled cheese. I got the grilled cheese, and was happy with my choice, although I would rarely order this anywhere else — the bread was really good, and the sandwich had spinach, roasted tomatoes and other toppings in addition to a high quality cheese. Clam chowder was the soup of the day, and it was fantastic. I could actually see real whole clams in the soup. Be forewarned, the cup of soup is pretty small, and the half sandwich is really just that. My wife had the chicken Asian salad, with cilantro, wontons and a sesame seed dressing. It was good — not as good as the salad she had the night before at the Urban Burger Stack Lounge, and maybe not worth 13 dollars but still a nice lunch.

We spent a few days in the Chattanooga area and had a nice time driving and walking around on Lookout Mountain. In the course of this we spotted Café on the Corner and went back one evening for dinner. We had a nice time and a good meal. They had really good sweet tea, even though I don’t drink it sweet. We started with some collard and smoked pork spring rolls. There was really no visible pork, but the smoked flavor indicated the collards were certainly cooked with some smoked meat. There was a little sweet corn included and a tangy mustard sauce that had to be used sparingly to avoid overwhelming the flavors in the rolls. These were very good and a nice southern country variant on an Asian treat. I also had a cup of shrimp and sausage gumbo. I am a sucker for gumbo and am usually disappointed. This was not the brown roux style that I like, but had good flavor and body. It was seasoned primarily with thyme and was mildly spicy. Very pleasant. The shrimp was very over cooked giving them the texture of those little canned shrimp. Ms T had a huge fried grouper sandwich and true to tradition did not eat the enormous bun. The fish was very good, properly fried with great grouper character. I ordered a beef filet trio. This meant three small filets with three different sauces. There was buerre blanc, demi-glacé and sauce béarnaise. When delivered to the table I thought the quantity of meat was scant. The individual filets were very small. Actually it was enough for me, but a hearty meat eater would want three plates, so it was pricy for what was presented. I should have ordered rare. The medium rare was overdone. I also question if it was really tenderloin. The meat had a good sear and good flavor, but was not dead tender the way you expect filet to be. I really think these little filets were cut from something other than the tenderloin. All sauces were good and it was accompanied by a small helping of grilled asparagus. I wanted about three times as much asparagus. I really liked the bleu cheese mashed potatoes. I enjoyed this meal better than it sounds, but can’t quite round up to four stars, given the price point. I would certainly go back if in the area. I like the setting on top of the mountain. One other slight negative was a very minimal wine list and the pour on Ms T’s wine was pretty short. The waitress told us they had not had their liquor license long and that the wine list would be expanding.

Aces! I ate at this location years ago and was hoping the place was still in business as I found myself on Lookout Mountain the other day. Different name, different owners, different everything… but, the location and patio are still so great and inviting, I couldn’t help but be hopeful. First, the staff is above and beyond. So incredibly nice and accommodating(not to mention quite knowledgeable about the dishes). Second, whatever you order, you must get the stone ground grits, as well. I don’t care if you order a kid’s hot dog… get the grits. Hell, drive up the mountain just to get the grits. Totally worth it. Obviously, I had the grits(I know you’re shocked). The shrimp and grits to be precise. This always makes me nervous in landlocked locations, but I do it anyway. Thank goodness. Everything was cooked to order and done so perfectly. I won’t even mention the collard greens. You just need to experience them for yourself. Run, don’t walk.

Fantastic. One of the best meals of my 11 day tour of the South, from Dalton to Chattanooga to Nashville to Memphis. What did it? The Green Fried Tomato BLT. It was possibly the best sandwich I’ve ever had. The décor is nice and surprising for where you are. The waitress was very polite, as were the cooks. Really, if I was passing by the mountain, I’d make a special trip up top to have this food again. Cheers.
