Harbin Marine

Got my boat back to me in a day and a half right after memorial day weekend so much appreciated.
Recharged my battery, checked the fluids and tighetend my lug nuts on the trailer for a super low price as a first time customer.

I have my boat sitting at a friends house near Harbin Marine. I wanted to get it shrink wrapped before the snow last month but was unable to get down there to get the boat to their shop. Chip went and picked it up and wrapped it before the snow on 5 minutes notice. This was my first experience with Harbin Marine, and it will not be my last!

I am the type of guy who hates dealing with mechanics and sales people. I always feel like I get treated like a moron and get taken advantage of.
My outboard was having problems that exceeded my limited mechanicals skills. I was taking my boat on vacation and only had two weeks remaining, so I reluctantly brought my boat to Harbin Marine, with little to no options left. I was afraid that no one would be able to fix it in such a tight window. I brought my boat in on a Monday and had it back on Wednesday evening of the same week! At what I thought was a very fair price for the amount if work and service they did.
The mechanic that I first met who did the initial diagnosis and Chip treated me with a great deal of respect and like a valued customer. I had 3 carbs rebuilt, new fuel lines and a connector on my fuel tank repaired. I went from a complete desperate panic about my boat and vacation to complete peace of mind a boat that hasn’t run this good in years!
The little things also made huge difference, I never connected or disconnected my trailer when I was there they always stepped up and made sure that was done for me, they greased all of my grease points on my outboard. I had screws that were missing in random locations that they replaced and changed my lower unit oil (service was not requested, but they barely charged me for it).
This in now «my mechanic» and I will no longer have to panic when I have issues because I look forward to seeing these guys again and have complete confidence in their service! They were also very informative with every random questions I could come up with while I was there. There seems to be pretty good culture at the shop, I saw a couple seasoned guys a couple young bucks and it seems like they all work well together. There is good training and mentoring going there and I just got good vibes being there from everyone around. Even the other customers seemed to be happy and in good spirits, which you don’t find when people are pumping out money for broken toys. They seem to be doing it right over there!

This is my third consecutive year with Harbin Marine and I don’t have one complaint. These guys are good people who don’t treat you like a number. I am hard to please when it comes to customer service and these guys have kept me happy since day one.

The other review must be from an employee because these guys are far from honest. They claimed my boat was too heavy which caused water to get in the engine. Over the years they have charged me thousands of dollars only to find out it was a cracked exhaust header. Chip if you read this, my pride challenge is still on the table. You messed up and won’t even admit it.
I highly recommend you do not use Harbin Marine. They are over priced and poor mechanics to boot.
