Harry Lattimore Playground

Awesome playground directly behind the Lorton library with plenty of parking.
The play area has a contained wood chip base, two swings, six slides, multiple entrances to the playset with steps and climbing objects, a small covered section, a large 10×10 uncovered platform, and a bridge.
There are lots of nice benches and two picnic tables with small grills with a big trash can at one. There is a large open area (I think I’ve seen baseball games or practices here before) surrounded by a paved walking trail. It’s also far enough off Route 1 that if you have a runner, you’ll have plenty of time to stop them before they get that far.
The only cons I can think of are there are no baby or special needs swings and there’s really no shade to speak of. Of course, the library has restrooms but only during their business hours.
Definitely a great place to bring the littles.
