It isn’t in Los Alamos proper, which is okay. But you should realize that it is off by it’s ow n. The check in clerk could use some upgrading is a nice way to say it. The duvet has a yellow stain on it, yes a yellow stain. I know gross. Restroom had some black mold in the corners. The toilet paper sucks, lastly the in room coffee maker seemed like it had never been cleaned. For a $ 140 I would stay in Santa Fe. It was the quietest hotel we have stayed at in a long time, we think because it was empty. Hence the 3. We love Hampton Inns, just not this one.

I am a Hilton Honors member and stay in Hampton Inns fairly regularly. I pretty much know what to expect as when you’ve been to one Hampton Inn you’ve been to them all, to some degree. This hotel is on the slightly more expensive side, likely because it is in Los Alamos where there are few hotels and it is a bit of a captive market. The room was clean but EXTREMELY small. We had a handicapped accessible room which is generally larger and my wheelchair barely fit between the end of the bed and the tv stand and I have a small chair. The hotel is a bit on the noisy side, we could hear pretty much anything happening in the room above us(unless there were elephants in there the floor/ceiling may need some additional acoustic work). We went to the complimentary breakfast but on neither morning we attempted it did the waffle iron work. Free wireless wifi only in the lobby, otherwise there is a cord to hook up your laptops, etc in the room. Was it a decent hotel? Yes. Was it the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in? Absolutely not. Would I recommend it? Sure as there aren’t a whole lot of choices in Los Alamos, NM.

Hotel is new and clean, decent breakfast and we found good customer service. However, the comments made by others about location are definitely true — if you are looking for something with restaurants or other attractions nearby, this is not the place for you. We were actually looking for a place to stay that was reasonable distance to Santa Fe when all the mid-cost hotels there were booked up, so it was fine for us because we didn’t plan to eat near the hotel anyway. It is quite close to the Bandelier National Monument which was nice.

The hotel is fine, but its location is lacking. There is not much in or nearby the city of White Rock, especially when it comes to finding a restaurant(Los Alamos has your nearest choices which is about 15 minutes away). LANL would be the primary reason for staying here. Also, Bandelier National Monument is just 20 minutes or so down the road.

Decent customer service if you don’t have a problem. Ask for the $ 93 Gov’t rate… if you have LANL business.

I had the opportunity to stay here on a recent business trip to Los Alamos and found the hotel clean, affordable, mostly quiet and a good workout room, however the customer service was not good. It is hot in NM during July in case anyone does not know this. I checked in on a Tuesday and my room was very pleasant(cool), when I returned after working on Wednesday it was stuffy and hot so I adjusted the wall temp controls and the ac ran all night with no relief. I complained the next night at the front desk(Thursday) and the front desk argued with me that this was NM and it got hot. I simply walked away as I could not believe they would refuse to have maintenance look at my room. I finally discovered the the unit also had been tampered with, possible the house keeping staff and I adjusted the temp on it and voila, problem solved. and no the ac did not run all night and my room was again pleasantly cool. I also had a coworker that had a poor customer service issue here as well, she changed her check in by 1 day and instead the hotel canceled her reservation and gave it to their family member that was in town for a reunion… luckily the gentleman was checking in at the same time as my coworker and gave up his room for her as he said he had family to stay with. I think the hotel needs to decide whether their are a commercial business out to attract customers or not. Up the ante and develop some gracious customer service.
