I came across Alice’s Stick cookies at the SF Chronicle Wine Competition Tasting at Fort Mason last weekend. Are they biscotti? No, they look like biscotti but I was told No! Are they shortbread? Yes! They had some sample of the 4 flavors that they make. Lemon, Cinnamon-Ginger, Orange-Chocolate and Vanilla. The texture of the cookies are delightful. Very moist but has an exterior crispness to them when you first bite into them. The cookie crumbles as it melts in your mouth. I really loved the Orange-Chocolate and Vanilla flavors. These cookies were the best find at the tasting! Cost: $ 9.95 for an eight ounce box.

I recently happened on to Alice’s Stick Cookies at Draeger’s in Los Altos. WOW! I thought that vanilla would be my favorite but I love vanilla, lemon and orange chocolate. They are the perfect treat — and make great little hostess gifts(I have gotten many of my friends and childrens’ teachers addicted!) They can also be purchased online. YUMM-O!

picked these up today from draeger’s in san mateo and they are unfreakingbelievably scrumdiddlydumptious. i have a feeling there’s a stick of butter in each cookie, but cellulite be damned… update 12÷30÷07: i purchased 2 cases of these cookies from the very lovely alice herself. drove out to her home and just picked them up for a bargain of $ 72 per case. i gave out 10 of the 24 boxes in little christmas gift bags with some schokinag hot cocoa and have been steadily eating my way through the remaining 14 boxes. as of today i’ve gained 5 lbs. these things are evil, but god help whoever tries to take them from me.

Simply divine. I mean the melt-in-your-mouth, think-you’ve-died-and-gone-to-heaven, the Meg Ryan big«O» kind of divine. Get the original flavor(it has a hint of toffee.) Sold through specialty stores in the Bay Area and places like Andronico’s and Draeger’s. P. S. Alice started the biz at 70(and that was 7 years ago!) Rock on Alice.
