Came up to find an empty shell. Looks like it’s since turned into a Mediterranean/Turkish café.

I guess it would be more honest to give them 2.5 stars. The crepes were OK. A little chewy and not very flavorful.

Had to mention this place(a regular stop when I’m in the neighborhood, 10 – 12 times so far) because I already mentioned it, writing about Rick’s Café nearby(Crêpe Maker being a European cousin of downtown Los Altos’s many good traditional coffee houses). Occasionally I even find excuses to be in the neighborhood, for the synergism of scoring a crêpe. Opened a few years back by a European family who regularly operate the crêpe concessions at the various street fairs and weekend festivals in the region. They’ve been doing this for a while. Sweet and savory filled crêpes, either from a menu or your own imagination. Simple, straightforward, consistent. Certain savory combinations(like mushrooms, spinach, and cheese) work very well in filled crêpes, and the owners of The Crêpe Maker know those principles well. Board of current specials often includes interesting combos combining seasonal vegetables, pesto sauce, etc.

I randomly spotted this restaurant while at the Los Altos Art and Wine festival. I was craving a lunch crêpe and decided to try it out despite their low reviews on Unilocal. I should’ve just eaten street food at the fair! I was very disappointed by the taste and quality of my crêpe. I got the crêpe that had chicken, mushroom and pesto, about $ 9. I had to force myself to try to finish it because I hate wasting food! I actually saw the cook open up a bag of pre-made chicken pieces from Costco to put into my crêpe. Far from fresh quality crepes here… save your money and go somewhere else.

Good place if you want to splurge on a average tasting but pricey crêpe. I always feel like I get a guilt trip when I don’t bring cash and have to use a card to pay. Sometimes they run out of their ingredients and so I suggest coming in early if you have your heart set on a certain crêpe.

This place is sweet and simple, which is why I like it. Nothing too special, but the décor is really cute, and I like to come here after work for a savory crêpe. My favorite is sundried tomato and feta, which is a dollar more than the sundried tomato and cheddar, but totally worth it. I don’t like the cheddar cheese, as it is too oily like other reviewers have said. However, they do have buckwheat, you just have to ask for it! Prices are a bit high, but if you stick to the simple stuff it shouldn’t be more than $ 6 – 8 dollars. A cute crêpe place if you happen to be in Los Altos.

I drove here on my lunch break from mountain view having high expectations and I’ve had better crepes at ihop. I ordered a nutella and strawberry crêpe and a coke. It came to just under $ 10.00 and for that price I’d at least expect some sort of side dish option. Or the very least a glass plate and real silverware; not a plastic fork. I don’t even think he cooked the crêpe even on both sides because the inside tasted kind of mushy. I won’t come back here. It’s unfortunate because it’s one of the only crêpe places near my work.

3.5STARS I ordered the ‘nutella with banana’ crêpe. It was pretty expensive considering there’s not much that they have to put in it. I paid close to $ 9 for one. It’s a small little shop with a variety of sweet and savory crepes. My crêpe came out and it was nicely presented with powdered sugar with a couple of slices of banana. I dived right in and mMmhmM…

Customer Service: Poor customer service, the guy behind the counter was more interested in his iPod than helping the customers. Food: Overpriced, burnt crêpe, and thought a ‘chicken and mushroom crêpe’ should have more than one or two pieces of chicken in it. Turns out the crêpe was just a ball of cheese wrapped in a burnt crêpe shell. I wanted it to be a healthier lunch than it was. Too bad. I eat at a chain in the city called ‘Squat and Gobble’ and get infinitely better crepes than at this substandard establishment.

Went here a couple times for crêpe and I really wanted to like it but I think since I’ve had a much better experience with crepes elsewhere… it was just painfully average. I almost felt that it would have been better just heating up a tortilla and sticking my own ingredients in. I had a vegetarian savory crêpe that was filled with spinach, cheese and mushrooms. The inside was a little too oily actually for my taste. I realize that with crêpe places there are two types I’ve seen — the thin non-crispy and the crispy«cone-like» crêpe. The crêpe here isn’t crispy and I feel the consistency is just average and nothing amazing. I ordered a strawberry and nutella crêpe here that was a lot better than the savory crêpe, so if you do go here, go sweet. The service here was friendly but they did take a little long to make my order. I would have understood if they were a little busy but it seemed that I was the only one here. If their price was a little lower, I might have given them three stars. But, I do think that it is a tad inflated for the lack of quality that you get for the crepes. I’m sorry but there are a lot better places out there.

Good to go to if you’re looking to try something different(or you just like crepes in general) as long as you’re not looking to feel like you’re in a bistro on the streets of Paris: o) Nutella + Banana Crêpe = mmmmmmmm!

I had both a savory crêpe and a sweet crêpe here. I love that you can watch them being made and they have a rewards card… but only one crêpe at a time can count. I tried the vegetarian, which is a savory crêpe. I got to watch it be made but it was made with the same batter as the sweet. Tasted good regardless. I love that there is pesto and they offer a slew of different ingredients including artichoke hearts, sun dried tomatoes and feta cheese. I would have liked to see brie cheese though. I like a simple sweet(that they offer and I don’t have to create on my own): cinnamon, sugar, and butter. It was good but not the best I have had. The cinnamon was grainy… maybe too much or didn’t melt and combine enough with the butter and sugar? It is still a win in my book!

I was very excited for my trip to Crêpe Maker. However, I was very disappointed with the taste of the food. The bf and I came on a Saturday morning. He ordered Ham, Cheese and Salsa Crêpe. I ordered the Chicken Mushroom Crêpe. His crêpe was Ok – nothing spectacular. Mine was gross — I ate half of it and threw the other half away. I really disliked the way mine tasted. The bf said my crêpe tasted like a pencil. I will never order a savory crêpe here again. However, I recall getting a sweet nutella and strawberry once upon a time and it was good — so I will come back again to try the sweet crepes. bonus: there are 2 outdoor tables for those traveling with dogs.

Went to Crêpe Maker today for the first time and was quite impressed. I have to be honest and say I didn’t get a crêpe; I know, who doesn’t get a crêpe at a crêpe place? I mean Really! But I just wasn’t feeling it and the chicken panini sounded awesome so I went with that. The chicken panini was this awesome marinated chicken breast with sundried tomatoes and other good stuff all grilled up on yummy bread. I asked them to switch the swiss cheese for feta and they said no problem. That would make me a fan in and of itself, b/c I’m a big substituter, and I «heart» it when places don’t make a big deal out of it, but I need not«heart» this place just for that. The chicken panini was fantastic, and it was paired with a side salad that had marinated artichokes, feta, tomatoes and this great vinagrette. My compliments to the crêpe maker who doesn’t always just stick to crepes. I have two complaints and they are little ones. First, if you want water you might want to bring your own shot glass b/c it very well may be bigger than the tiny dixie cups they have out. My sandwich was delicious, but I was thirsty, and shooting a dixie cup every five mins does not a good meal make. My other complaint is that the restaurant is set up is a little weird. When we got there, two tables that were out of the way of the door were taken, so we were forced to literally block the walk way in front of the door to the counter. The door was open and the weather was cold and rainy, so we were freezing until we lucked out and could take the table in the corner out of the wind. Don’t get me wrong, this is not a big deal, but something to keep in mind if you’re going a) with a larger party b) to catch up with someone and want to sit for a while.

I’m just reviewing their catering service. Just got back from a party at a friend’s place with lots and lots of people, full bar and the whole works. The main course was catered by Crêpe Maker. What a novel idea for a party! It sure beats the usual rubber chicken or other lame attempts at being distinctive. Lots of old standbys of savory and sweet crepes plus a few more distinctive ones. It a great conversation starter. Its like dinner and a show. My only negative was fillings for some of the sweet crepes was a bit too much compared to the typical French creperie. Otherwise, I highly recommend them for your next party.

Go for the crepes but get the coffee next door. They really focus on one thing, but they do that one thing very well! The crepes were thin and tasty, pretty much all you’d expect a french-style crêpe to be. If you’ve ever gotten a crêpe on the boulevards of Paris – this one comes pretty close to it. It didn’t blow my mind away or anything, but it’s definitely a french-style crêpe that’s very well made. We went today, Easter Sunday, yey, just about 5 other patrons around, no line, crepes arrived within 3 minutes of ordering, and we sat at one of the two outdoor bistro-style tables. Lovely! However, I was told that the line was usually pretty long during«lunch-time»(11:30−2) on weekends(20 – 25 min. wait according to the staff), and that the chance of scoring a table during that time was pretty slim. Never mind, we’ll just get take-out and eat at one of the benches along Main St., and will come equipped with a latte from next doors for the wait. That’s the plan! Update: Went there again on two consecutive Sundays. No line, always able to get an outdoor table(at around 1pm).

Tee Hee… I wanted some nutella… AGAIN… So I walked past Satura Cakes and headed to this crêpe place. I had my eyes on it for a while… since I always walk by. I ordered the banana and nutella crêpe-$ 6.50. It was not ooozing with nutella, and it was crispy. I like and prefer crispy. It was okay… Maybe I would have liked it more, if the service would have been better? Here I come bouncy as ever with my haircut. Smiles all around, and the not-so-happy guy behind the counter must have been having a bad day. No hello, no thank you… no nothing. So no tip.

Good selection between savory and sweet crepes. I ordered«the works» which is ham, egg, cheese, artichoke hearts, and sun-dried tomatoes. Couldn’t taste the egg, but I’ll trust it was there. The actual crêpe recipe(not the insides) is really good… tastey. Inside was really good as well, but too be expected with what was included. Nothing is served on the side, and it was $ 8+. Priciest one on the menu, but it was«the works». It did fill me up though, and that’s hard to say for a crêpe. Would have been happier with a $ 6 price(especially due to the paper plate/plastic utensils). Friendly service. Hardly any tables to sit at. Served on a paper plate with plastic utensils. Hmm? And they have a frequent buyer card. That’s definitely a plus!

Not much selection on the Main St. drag to catch a quick and semi-healthy bite to eat. Doggie bags come in the form of foil sheets & incorporate frequent buyer cards. My new go-to place for a midafternoon snack.
