I have belonged to Curves for several years, and love it! Mimi is a great cheerleader and coach. I love the workout, the fitness ideas and the convenience. You can choose how often and how intense you want your workout routine to be. It is a great program and Mimi is a great asset!

I’ve just started, but think Curves is a great beginning program for strength training for women. Although I exercise a decent amount and did some strength work before, I was pleasantly sore after my first session, which tells me that I was using some unused muscles. For total beginners, this is a godsend. I think Curves is well-designed to address a lot of the top reasons many women don’t go to regular gyms. it’s a valuable starter strength program, and may be all that older women need(or that many can do). And I like that it includes 12 stretches as well in the program. I also think it’s very helpful that when you begin, you always have someone with you for 3 – 4 sessions telling you how to use the equipment correctly and how to do the stretches at the end. You still need to do more aerobic exercise, but that is easy to plan for — just start walking! Strength training is more complicated to figure out for yourself. It’s not a be-all and end-all program, but then nothing is, and I think it’s a great, supportive program for someone who knows they need to get more fit.

An update to my earlier 3-star review. The management was very quick to warmly appreciate my feedback about unavailability of equipment; has apologized and now members move, as cued, through the equipment, making all equipment available. I very much appreciate their quick response, and now can very early give it 5 stars. Thank you!
