My husband and I have been patient for years. Dr Grewal is extremely competent. My husband and I drive almost an hour for our office visits. She is thorough and competent and takes all the time needed to ensure the exam is complete and explains exactly what she is doing and why. Her entire staff is great and when staff members are doing procedures they explain every step of what they are doing, how it will feel, what you experience as they do it step by step. I have mono vision contact lens fittings and I receive a thorough and comprehensive eye test with prescription changes that I can tell I needed the minute I put in the new prescription. Dr Grewal has detected my macular degeneration at the initial very early stages and checks to ensure there are no progression changes at every visit, she has diagnosed my glaucoma, and while it is not severe enough as yet to require drops etc, she keeps close watch and discusses any changes she see. . My husband has severe eye problems, floaters, macular degeneration, glaucoma, has had cataract surgery, etc and many friends have told us her thoroughness and attention to detail is far beyond what their eye doctors provide. I have found her staff to be friendly whether making a appointment on phone or attending to procedures in the office. They always explain what they are doing, why and what to expect. If the patients in her waiting are any reflection of this doctor being in demand and well thought of, then five stars is the«norm» for Dr Grewal and her staff. Also, I do not buy my contact lenses from her office as I have the prescription they give me filled closer to my home so I don’t have to drive an hour to pick up new lenses, and I have never ever been pushed or even encouraged to buy them at her office facilities Five Star all the way…

Worst eye clinic I have ever visited. More concerned with billing then eye care. I recognize that the cost of having an office in Los Altos means that the number of tests/procedures per patient needs to be higher than any where else in the country, but this place is ridiculous. With VSP insurance and before any costs incurred from contacts, $ 65 dollars down the tubes. They performed a «contact fitting check» which entailed them looking at my eyes with the contacts that walked into their office with and them telling me that they were a good fit… gee thanks, that’s what my last eye doctor told me, thus why I bought these in the first damn place! Since they did not carry the brand of contacts that I had they required that I pay for an additional«contact fitting» session if I wanted to walk out with contacts that day. When I asked what the sizing of my contacts were so that I could just try a pair and see they didn’t know because all they knew was that the previous pair fit well, but did not know what size they were and they had to call the office where I previously had my eyes checked to get the information anyways… thanks for the«contact fitting», what was it that you did again… oh yeah, tell me my contact still fit my eyes. After having to take-off of work to come in again to pick-up my contacts I was delightfully surprised with my new contacts that left my vision blurry as all hell. Assessment Summary: Poor customer service: the receptionist is especially rude, you feel like you are bothering her during each encounter: «uh, can I please fill out your form please, so that you have all the information that you need to process my payment to you? Sorry for bothering you, and making unnecessary eye contact… I’ll just go ahead and check my own eyes and pay you now thanks… again, sorry for any inconvenience that I have ever caused you… sorry» Poor result: both my wife and I came home with contacts that left our vision blurry… I am only reminded every second I am typing this stupid message by how much I cannot read the words I am typing right now. Overall assessment: Generously granted 1STAR
