Hands down the best place for Korean BBQ in LA! Service is the best of the best! The servers are on top of the game! The grill is changed with every kind of meat that’s served. They cook your food & make sure you don’t leave hungry. The quality of the meat! I don’t eat pork and I did here. It’s tender & well marinated. The beef was Fantastic! I’m an avid Unilocaler & if you love Korean BBQ with some Great Quality meat, this is the PLACE

I started eating KBBQ in Ktown in 2004, after my freshman year in college. I realize I’m starting to date myself. Anyway, my priority back then was quantity over quality and I always favored AYCE places. Now that I’ve hit 30 and I’ve been told that my metabolism is slowing down, I realize that quality is of the utmost importance. I no longer want to fight with college students for seats at popular AYCE places. I’m also tired of the hours of waiting at Kang Hodong Baekjeong and Quarters. And that’s where Ahgassi Gopchang comes in. My friend and I waited abut 40 minutes on a Sunday night to get seated. We decided on the beef combo with Brisket, Seasoned Boneless Short Rib and Skirt Steak. It was a good portion for 2 people and every cut of meat was excellent. The only downside to this place is the lack of wrappers like rice paper or radish wrappers. Service was good and the sides were also tasty. I wish they would offer a combo with both meat and intestines instead of one or the other. We walked away smelling like meat but very happy with our choice.

OHGODTHISPLACEISSOGOOD… I always get the gobchang combo which comes with the gobchang with veggies, rice cake, and other goodies into a big pan which they heat up right in front of you with a FIRESHOW!!! The combo also comes with gae ran jjim, stew of your choice(kimchi, dwen jang, or tofu) and boggeum bap(fried rice) which includes another FIRESHOW!!! bahahaha ! Also lots of side dishes and wraps !!! Right now they are doing a summer special where if you wear shorts or something«summery» you get a free soda! Just let your server know. I honestly wanted to give all 5 stars but gave 4 stars instead because of 1. VALETPARKING. this plaza used to be free parking until all these kbbq spots opened up in here… which sucks now because u have to pay for parking and also takes forever to get your car in and out… 2. The price of how much food comes out and for really what it is… it is pretty expensive… but hey… It’s really yummy!

Considering myself pretty picky with food, my boyfriend and I looked this place up on Unilocal prior to our arrival — 4 – 5 stars, with really good reviews — so we decided to give it a try. First of all, the 2 stars are for the food. Like many previous reviews have mentioned, this place’s got some really delicious, fresh and well-seasoned meat. The only thing keeping me from returning to this restaurant is the service here. Very stand-off, inattentive waiters and waitresses made us feel very unwelcome. Another issue, my boyfriend wanted a beer with his food and they asked for both of our ID’s(I am under 21). I guess it was reasonable to do so, but I didn’t intend to drink in the first place. After exchanging conversations and explanations, he ended up not getting served the beer he’d want. We left the restaurant very unhappy and disappointed and really could have spent $ 55 some place else better.

I really like AG because the meat is quality is so good! It’s very«fresh» and the sauces that they marinate the meat in(certain kinds of gogi) is super good. I really like the soy sauce/dipping sauce that they give you. Parking is valet or street parking if you can find it. Come early before the dinner rushes or you’ll be stuck waiting for a while. I left around 9:30PM and there were still so many people waiting outside to be seated. When a group comes in, all the employees yell something out loud and after a while it can get kinda annoying after the first couple of times because it is already loud inside from customers talking. We got the chadol, daechang, ju mu luk?(i think thats the one we got.) but all three were so good. The employees replenish any items right away when you ask, which I really enjoy since other kbbq places I go to, I have to ask multiple times for certain items. The fan vent is a genius idea since the smell of the gogi goes straight into the vent once its lowered, and not on your clothes. My clothes didn’t smell like kbbq that much once we left.

Definitely a delicious spot for Korean BBQ, but not my all time favorite. We got the thinly sliced brisket, which was good and not super fatty! Prime seasoned boneless short rib, meat was super tender and juicy! Intestines were next, and I couldn’t get myself to try it. My friends say it was good but they wished it was smaller. Overall, Ahgassi Gopchang has pretty good quality meats and the environment is fun and definitely loud on a Friday night!

If burnt tar and smoke are the flavor profiles you’re looking for, this is the place for you I love grilled beef intestines. They’re one of my favorite foods on earth. I go back to Korea at least four times a year and have eaten at many intestine places on every trip without fail. So I feel qualified to say that intestines SHOULDNOTBEBURNED. They’re in such a hurry to leave your table that they cranked the heat up way high, charring the outside of the meat. We could barely eat half the first round of meat on the grill, and they let the second round burn as well before I spoke up and asked if burnt char was their signature flavor. Intestines are very fatty, and the fat needs to be rendered low and slow, not fast and furious. I ended up taking over the grilling since clearly their staff has no idea what to do. Pretty sure there are other places around that are better.

On a busy Friday night at around 9pm, we called to ask how long the wait was. They said approximately 40 – 50 minutes, which was a lot shorter than many Korean BBQ places around the area. When we arrived, we were surprised & excited to hear that it would just be a couple of minutes! :) When they took us to our table, everything was already set up– the sides and settings. We ordered a large beef combo, which was around $ 95 – 100. We thought it wouldn’t be enough for 4 people, but we left very satisfied with the amount and quality of the food, and the amazing service! In the large beef combo:(you can choose between different options, but here is what we picked) –thinly sliced brisket –marinated short rib –beef tongue –kimchi stew Everything was fresh and tender, and even though we tried to cook, the servers kept coming and cooking for us– never letting the beef get overdone or burnt. They also changed the grill depending on the type of meat that was on there. They were all so friendly, our sides and drinks were always refilled and they kept checking up on us. Another reason why this was able to fill us up is because even thought we kept ordering the rice and steamed egg, it seems like it was on the house, as they didn’t charge us! I cannot emphasize enough how enjoyable this experience was for us. This will definitely be our go-to place whenever we’re around this area! :)

I know it’s the same owner as Kang ho dong, but I like Agassi better. — Go between 5:30−7 for minimal wait time. — beef combo. Brisket, skirt steak, marinated rib. — make sure they send you the stew(kimchi jigae) — combo comes with egg soufflé(gae ran jeem) — excellent service — valet parking available

Ahgahsshi never disappoints. They have fresh meat and delicious side dishes. We came here for lunch and ordered the Beef Combo for two people at $ 59.99. It is plenty of food for 2 people, we were so full after the meal. The first meat we grilled was the brisket with the bean sprouts. It’s so thin and chewy. I love dipping it in the soysauce they give you, just make sure to add the minced garlic and green onions to make it more flavorful. Then the next meat you choose from 3 different types, we went with the non-marinated short ribs. It was thick, juicy, chewy and cooked perfectly. The outside was char and the inside at medium. I love eating this with the pickled onions and salad. The last meat we choose out of the 2 was the skirt steak. It was a great way to end the beef meat tasting! I love the skirt steak, it was so juicy and chewy. You also get steam egg, choice of jiggae, side dishes, onion salad, lettuce salad and a spicy chive salad. It is a great price for the quality of the meat they serve.

Omg I’ve been hearing so much good stuff about this joint… and I pass by it all the time! So happy I finally go to try it! My girls and I came around 9 and were seated fairly quickly. Place is nice and clean, and barely smokey. We got: Brisket: Very marbled, which means nice and fatty! Beef was very tender and cooked with bean sprouts… definitely enjoyed this with all the sides! Yukhoe(Korean beef tartare): This came out just the slightest bit frozen. but thawed quickly. It was mixed very well and flavorful without being overly so, which is a feat in itself. It was also ultra refreshing between bites of the cooked fatty meats, which makes me consider this a must get every time! Pork jowl: My friend’s fave… ultra fatty and very delicious when cooked crispy! It was a bit too much for me in terms of fat since everything else was fatty… but definitely delicious. Large intestine: We can’t go to Aghassi Gopchang without getting gopchang, right? I love this one! I prefer cooking it cut lengthwise so that all the fat renders, but flavor is spot on and pairs very well with the sauces given… goes great with the perilla leaves too! Soju with red vinegar: It’s more like pomegranate vinegar… but tastes sooooo good with the soju! I could drink it all day if I didn’t pass out first… Although I usually like cooking my own meat, the waitresses were all very experienced and on point with their cooking, and the meats came out just right. Service was great and we came out with very full bellies. I haven’t tried their sister restaurant Kang Hodong yet, but perhaps now I must!

The long wait on weekends is pretty much expected but at least the service while dining is good and they assist with the grilling which is always a plus for those that don’t like to cook themselves. I love the side dishes here. The cool radish soup dish was good and refreshing. The beef sashimi was amazing! The sauce that went with it wasn’t overbearing and I really liked the thin slices of pear it came with. The cheese fried rice sounded interesting so we got one to try. Not bad, but not something I would get again. We got the Beef Combo with brisket, seasoned boneless short rib, and skirt steak. I love how the brisket comes with bean sprouts and both the short rib and skirt steak were tender and well marinated. A little pricey since you’re ordering A La Carte vs the usual super affordable AYCE options in LA but the quality of the meat is amazing! Super excited that they will be opening a branch in NorCal, Spring 2017!

This is THE place for the best intestine!!! My friend took me here today at lunch time and we had a delicious and very filling meal. After leaving the restaurant, I had a craving to go back. I wanted to order more, but we were only two people and we were stuffed! Delicious marinade and wonderful service all around makes this place one of my new go-to restaurants on my weekly list! For two people, we ate marinated pork and octopus which later the server prepared fried rice for us and then the large intestine and one large Hite all came to only $ 62!!! We are sooooooo much food! Our meal could easily serve three-four people so this place is quite satisfying and generous!

Of course I had to get Korean bbq on my visit to LA. My sister read my mind and brought me out to Ahgassi Gopchang, which she said was opened by a Korean comedian. We had to walk through a parking area to find the entrance which is proceeded by an outdoor waiting area warmed by heat lamps. Yes, they were prepared for the crowd of overflow that characterizes the LA dining scene. Each table had an air vent situated above the charcoal grill that was a conspicuous part of every group shot and surprisingly lifted and lowered at need be. Our table was already set with a salad, sweet potato side, tea, sauce fixings, and a few other veggie sides when we were seated. Between the 3 of us, we opted for the $ 55.99 small 2 person Beef Combo, since my sister knew it would be plenty for our appetite. The beef combo consisted of: 1) Prime thinly sliced brisket + Choice of 2) Prime Seared Short Rib or Prime Marinated Seared Short Rib or Prime Seasoned Boneless Short Rib + Choice of 3) Prime Skirt Steak or Prime Beef Tongue + 4) Stew We picked the boneless short rib, prime skirt steak, and seafood soft tofu stew. The stew was spicy but good, the prime skirt steak and boneless short rib a bit tough. The first course sliced brisket was the best meat course of the bunch! The egg custard(was that the egg soup?) that came with was homey and warming. We got refills of the salad and sweet potato a number of times. A yummy and satisfying meal! And the air vents did a pretty good job at keeping our clothing from smelling of Korean bbq!

Normally when I meet my friend who lives in KTown we do the same thing: Meet at a sooljip, get drunk, eat some food, meet some chix, sing karaōke & drink some more, and who knows what after that. However, this time we decided to hit Kang Ho Dong Baekjong’s sister restaurant, Ahgassi Gopchang to start the night. AG specializes in intestines(= gopchang), and is located on 6th& S. Harvard in KTown. We actually didn’t order the intestines. Instead, we opted for the small beef special($ 55.99). The foregoing includes three types of high quality meat. All of the meat was really good, and the portion was reasonably priced. In addition, there were a lot of different types of banchan. Regarding the ambiance, it is very nice. There are a lot of tables w/high end fans. Additionally, they use charcoal here: 4 Stars. Likewise, the service was really good too. The servers were friendly, and they cooked the meat for you: 4 Stars. I like Aghassi Gopchang. I much prefer KBBQ w/high quality meat vs AYCE. The portion we ordered was the perfect amount(w/beer), to line our stomachs before a hard night of partying in KTown! Lol

My friend and I were in the mood for some Korean BBQ. After looking up possible places on Unilocal,we decided to come here. Parking was not issue here, granted it was lunch time on a Sunday afternoon. We parked at the back of the building, and made our way in. We were sat and served green tea. An array of different items were placed before us, and we ordered a beef combo. It was not long before they came with the food and cooked it for us. They did everything for us, which was nice. Out of the non-meat food in front of us, I like the sweet potato. It tasted good freshly sliced, and even better grilled. The meat was tender, juicy, and tasty. The egg was good, as was the spicy tofu soup. The green tea was a good complement to the meal. The staff was nice and attentive. The place was clean, and service was overall excellent.

I knew this place looked familiar! Very similar to Kang Ho Dong Bakejeong. They even have the same spokesperson photo on it. The meats are similar but the sides are different. I prefer the Kang Ho Dong sides better. They’ve got white kim chi here, onions, steamed egg, kim chi soup, salad, and bean sprouts. The beef short rib is so flavorful and tender. The brisket is a much better quality than I’ve had. The skirt steak very good as well. It was also very very crowded on a Saturday night here. Recommendation: marinated Short rib is a must

We were in the neighbor so decided to try this place out. Food: we got the small beef combo $ 55. Beef brisket, marinated beef short ribs, beef tongue, steamed egg & seafood stew. I like most of them except the beef tongue. Service: all of the servers worked together to cook the meats for us. One thing really bugged me was the server used the same cooking tong he was using to cook the table behind us and cooked our meat. They provided us with own cooking tong but he did not use it. I would rather cook the food myself then using the same cooking tong with the rest of the people in the restaurant. Parking: street parking for free on Sunday or valet parking in the back.

Ahgassi Gopchang is actually same ownership as Kang Ho Dong Baekjeong. However, this is less popular and often unknown outside korean communitty. I just found out this place via Unilocal actually, I wanna try some good KBBQ that is not long wait at Sunday Night. Most popular Korean KBBQ places wait were over a hour. I was suprise that this one has wait about 15 to 20 minutes compare to 1 to 2 hours wait in Kang Ho Dong Baekjeong. The parking is $ 2 with validation, but I find pretty of street parking nearby. The interior is very similar like Kang Ho Dong Baekjeong. The staff here is friendly and they will cook for your meal by default. The waiter cook our meal a bit overcooked. Technically the should be no wait at all, i see pretty of empty tables when we seat for a least 20 minutes. The food price is about the same as Kang Ho Dong Baekjeong, but they offer intestine combo here. However we play safe side and just order the beef combo. All the meal cut were prime. The meat is good but the prime beef tongue tasted just normal tongue in my opinion. The bachan selection were not as good as Kang Ho Dong Baekjeong. There’s no steam egg on the grill, instead is delivery to you as side. Overall I do recommend this place if you want Kang Ho Dong Baekjeong alike quality and service but don’t wanna a long wait. However I still prefer Kang Ho Dong Baekjeong as a better KBBQ overall.
