This is not a place for a date or great tasting food. This is a place for cheap and fast food-diner style. I ordered the Antigua Breakfast with potatoes eggs and beans. The taste and quality of the food was 2⁄10. The beans taste from the can and the potatoes were not seasoned. Nothing special about about this place. Pros: good for take out burritos and coffee

Was just in the area when I found this little gem near my work. I’ve been to Antiqua Guata. and was happy to find some black beans in El Serno! I asked for a Black bean and Cheese burrito w/lettuce and tomato.(not on the menu) the owner was happy to have it made. I absolutely love the black beans! ALMOST as much as I like my own slow cooked black beans! I will definitely come back and try something else.

Definitely a spot for hipsters y los güeros haha. I came here twice based off a recommendation and I really can’t remember my first experience. Needless to say, I thought this place was forgettable. However, I just had their maneñero(spelling?) and it was bombbbbbbbbb. It came with eggs, black beans, chorizo links, queso fresco, fried plantains, crema, tortillas and salsa. Everything tasted fresh and the plantains were cooked so perfectly. The staff is super friendly and cute too:) Although hipsters inhabit this restaurant, the food is on point Definitely coming back and I recommend their maneñero breakfast plate!!!

I was at CPR class and decided to try this place. It’s was ok! I got the Chicken Pesto Sandwish with fries. The chicken was dry and overcooked. The fries don’t have any seasoning so I had to load it up with ketchup. The staff is slow my food waited on the order up table for 3 mins until I finally ask them for my good. Maybe I try it again if I’m in the area.

Always passed by this place but never really gave it a try, I finally went in for brunch and ordered a Spanish omelet which was served with potatoes, it was very delicious, I will totally be going back and try their other dishes.

I normally just get the chicken pesto sandwich from here which is great. But the other morning I decided to come for breakfast and I got the Spanish Omelette and it was DELICIOUS. One of the best omelette I’ve had and totally inexpensive. Will definitely be getting it again!

This place blows. My girlfriend’s parents came out to visit me and my girlfriend from AZ, so we figured take them to Antigua Bread for breakfast. We’ve never been to the restaurant, so it was a first time experience for us all. The food took about an hour to be ready and the food wasn’t even that good. I had the carne asada burrito and they fucked it up. Like, how does a Latin restaurant fuck up a carne asada burrito? The meat/bean/rice portions were all fucked up, there was about 80% beans and rice and 20% meat but the burrito was priced as if it was a carne asada burrito instead of labeling it a bean and rice burrito with meat on the side. Come on! The beans weren’t even good. This is a fake ass latin restaurant because I don’t know of any Latin/Hispanic restaurant that has ever fucked up a burrito like this place has.

This is a late review I ate there later summer and always meant to review but never did. I love their coffee, I always get ice and I love how they have a little corner with simple syrup, cinnamon and other little toppings for the coffee. I’ve only had their breakfast but both times I ate there it was pretty good!

The first time I ordered the Antigua Breakfast. It was good except for the bread. Not traditional Guatemalan bread which was disappointing. The portions were pretty small, but I looked past and was patting myself on my back that I had ordered a side of plantains. The second time I ordered a burger. As soon as I saw it… a perfectly round patty… I knew it was frozen. Yuck! I confirmed with the server that had brought over the food. Not only do they use frozen patties, but it was overly salted that I couldn’t get past three bites. I let the assistant manager know who went on to tell me that I’m the first person to tell her that and that their burgers are actually very popular. I told her that I’m shocked they don’t make fresh burgers patties as most other places. She said she didn’t know of any other places that make fresh burgers… wow. Really? I left extremely disappointed and with a bad taste in my mouth. I don’t plan on returning here. They also charged me 25 cents for ranch which I thought was hilarious! Another thing I can’t understand is why they post that they have dinner if they close at 5pm. That doesn’t make sense. Most people have dinner after that time.

Enjoyed my food(chilaquiles with 2 over easy eggs on top) but service was a bit slow. My friend ordered a salad and it didn’t come til I was halfway done with my food. She had to go up and ask for it. I could see on her dish that the salad lacked dressing.

Love this place. It’s quaint and the food is delicious. The Antigua breakfast is a must have ! I have to say that another amazing must have is the iced coffee. It’s the best I’ve had. I got the Vanilla caramel latte and it was the best vanilla latte I’ve taste in a while.

I love this spot. Parking is easy, staff was quick and helpful and the place was neat and quiet. I sat for three hours and no one bothered me which was great. Wifi worked well and the iced coffee I ordered was $ 2 and delicious. Before leaving I ordered a cookie, which was actually Guatemalan bread sprinkled with sugar. It was $ 0.60 and delicious. I broke the cookie into 15 small pieces and I’d order another on my next visit. Very happy to have found this place.

This place has become our go-to midweek linner spot. I’m not sure what motivated us to start coming back. Once we have axed a spot, that’s usually it for us. All the issues I had the first time coming here: the attitudes from the workers, the cold food were all mitigated by our second visit. The girl behind the counter was friendly enough and the food was much better. We have tried every vegetarian option they have on their menu, but my favorites would be the roasted vegetable sandwich and the breakfast chapin. Oddly enough, the chapin was the first thing I ordered and was disappointed by. It is now consistently great. My groomer(Dapper Dog) just moved across the street, so it’s nice to drop my pup off in the morning and stop in for a quick coffee break. This isn’t a place I would go out of my way for, but it’s definitely a convenient and affordable option for those days we don’t feel like cooking.

My boyfriend and I always come here for a quick and delicious breakfast. We don’t even know anyone who works here. Their customer service is quick and friendly. Their prices are reasonable and their food is amazing and their coffee is good too. We always order the chilaquiles with red sauce or the Antigua breakfast.

Came here with my BFF from work. We had a late lunch after driving around all over town from SF Valley back down to LA area. We were on the run and needed to grab a quick bite, but at the same time, sit for a bit. She actually suggested this place because she’s been here once and highly recommend the food. We both ordered iced tea which were perfect considering we had been driving aimlessly all day long. She ordered the steak and eggs which she refused to share and I had the huevos rancheros. The fact she didn’t share, I assumed she enjoyed her dish. My huevos rancheros very prepared just right. It wasn’t over seasoned or saturated with salsa. There’s plenty of parking shared with other establishments up front. Staff were very friendly and food came out quickly. We also ordered coffee and pastries on our way out. Great stop!

3.5 stars. This is a easy breakfast location. You order up front and you sit to wait for your meal. Easy parking. I had the huevos rancheros and my bf had this chorizo, egg and beans. I like the ease of the meal and the food was decent. We also had a mocha. Nothing über fancy. The chilaqulies looked REALLLY good, I should have ordered that instead. Next time!

Not bad for locals but I wouldn’t go out of my way for this place. I came on a Friday so I didn’t get any weekday special prices. I might like this place better if breakfast was 3.99. Antiqua Breakfast 6.75 — I like that they serve black beans instead of pinto. Nice char on the plantains. Crema was tart. The cheese was a spongey, mild, not too salty block. It looked like feta but I’m not sure what it was. I ordered eggs sunny side up. It was a little too raw on top. Next time I’ll order over easy. It comes with bread or tortilla. I choose the tortilla. I think it was homemade. It wasn’t too salty either. The eggs weren’t salted. The beans were oversalted but it was balanced by the underseasoned items on the plate. Tamale 3.25 — This is only served on weekends and they only have chicken tamale. It comes with a side of bread but they forgot my bread(annoying). The tamale was spongey instead of dense. It was wrapped in a banana leaf. There was a green olive in it which I’ve never seen before. It was dark meat chicken but the chicken was seasoned well. It was lighter than your street tamales and twice as big. The salsa was more like tomato soup. It was runny and not spicy at all. Their baked goods did not look appetizing at all. Neither did the bread pudding or flan. I don’t dislike it but I’m not a huge fan either. Completely average in every way. I would come back again to try the breakfast burrito.
