First time coming to this restaurant, and I can honestly said it blew me away, I tried the noho fries I think they called it, it was the best thing I ever had in my life, we came on a Sunday, it was pretty busy, there were only two people serving and they were very good at doing what they do, they treated us like family. But I did have to ask them to bring me napkins because I got a little messy, and they looked at me a little funny like I was crazy, I think his name was Steven, but it was a part of his personality which actually makes him so great, can’t wait to bring the fam with me, good job guys keep it up.

We just moved to the area and literally live down the street. After passing this place everyday wondering what it was I finally looked it up and realized it was a restaurant. Had to try! Its really cool inside and hip. There’s board games you can play. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars is at first service was really really slow and no one seemed to really attend to us. After we got our food a girl started serving us and she was awesome really friendly. We had the hangover burger and the once you go blaq, both delicious! The fries are really good also. This place definitely has potential and will probably continue to improve and be more well known! Enjoyed it

I hardly feel compelled to leave a review(whether good or bad). Maybe it was my high expectation of the place, or the pure dissatisfaction I had with the overall experience, but here is why I gave this place a 2 star. Keep in mind I had the food to-go and still gave a 20% tip. 1) The Blaq Magiq burger was extremely undercooked(white and red right under the outer layer of the patty), even after I specifically mentioned to the waiter(Jo) that I wanted it well-done. The garden salad was good though, the greens were fresh! 2) The fries were way too oily. To be quite frank, it was disgustingly oily. My order was my «cheat» meal for the week, so I was craving something greasy and oily, but this was too much. 3) The Aftermath(rib eye) sandwich was mediocre at best. They don’t toast their buns/bread and the meat cut was not recognizable. 4) The waiter told me that my order(which was the burger, the sandwich, one with salad and one with fries, another side of fries, and the Oreo sushi roll dessert) was going to take 25 minutes. I waited 45 – 50 minutes. THEOREODESSERTWASTHEBESTPARTOFTHISPLACE. PLUS, I GIVETHEMEXTRACREDITFORTHEGAMEBOARDSANDTHEFLYAMBIANCEOFTHEPLACE. If the owners are reading this, I know your restaurant has much place to improve, and has the potential to be great. You must live up to the prices you put on your food. FYI, I was there on the 29th of January around 8:30 pm.

Seriously? If you live in the area and have not been here before, you’re missing out! Amazing burgers, deserts and environment. If you come here anything on the menu is amazing, BUT if it’s your first time definitely start with the SAFARO burger. It’s a secret menu item so it’s worth a shot. It’s just amazing, and after you’re done devouring that beautiful piece of creation order desert and a magnificent chef will come and put on a performance for you in order to make the desert for you. Just wow. Coolest dude ever. Seriously. Go. Now!

Amazing! That’s all I have to say! 5 stars all the way! From service to food, it’s all GOOD! I am so glad this place has opened up in the heart of NoHo. We need more urban modern style restaurants around. Blaqhaus’ décor is simple but with a modern eclectic fair. And I love the fact that it has its own parking lot. There’s patio seating as well. We went in on a Thursday night and it was surprisingly busy. We got seated right away and got handed these menus that look like license plates. You gotta love all the menu item names. Makes the menu fun! Our server was so down to earth and cool. Suggested some things to try and let us know of there lemonade special of the day. I’m not a fan of lemonade but just wanted to try some and he brought us out 2 of the smallest and cutest cups ever! And some complimentary water. So we ordered a Chicken Sandwich and a Burger. We got the Hangover Burger with no Bacon and the Once you go Blaq Chicken sandwich with no avocado. Unfortunately they did mess up our order and ended up putting the bacon and Avocado on the chicken sandwich. But you know our server was so apologetic we couldn’t even get mad. Well let me tell you, that Hangover burger is to die for! Juicy, tasty, flavorful, yummy, delicious, mouth watering… just to name a few! Along with a perfectly cooked over easy egg. All these juices just running around and doing a happy dance in your mouth. Yumdicious I tell you! Not a fan of those skinny sticks of fries, but they were pretty good. When the Once you go Blaq Chicken came back out corrected we were already full off the burger. But one bite into that juicy chicken heaven we ended up taking down that whole sandwich. Delicious and decadent and oh so good! They upgraded our Fries to the truffle fries with the chicken sandwich. Truffle fries were really good and really tasty. They offered us free dessert so of course we couldn’t say no. We were so full but omg everything is so tasty here. Our dessert came out and it looked like sushi. I think it was called Oreo Cookie Sushi Roll. Perfectly cute bite sized little morsels. They even give you chopsticks with it. So delicious! You can’t go wrong trying Blaqhaus out.

This place is amazing! We walked in got seated right away. Staff was super nice as well. Straight Outta NoHo is an absolute must! They were bomb! Definitely not a let down… I ordered the Hangover Burger which was soooo good. Meat was juicy and flavorful, the egg was cooked perfectly. Everything about it was amazing! Yum! My dad ordered the Once You Go Blaq and he said it was phenomenal. I didn’t try it but it looked delicious! Truffle fries are also a must. Everyone needs to order the lemonade of the day. Will definitely be back soon!!!

Pretty awesome burger joint in the Valley. They have their own parking lot, so parking wasn’t bad at all when I came in on a Wednesday afternoon. The interior has a clean, slick-urban-modern kind of feel to it. They have a variety of games and an Instagram poster board to mess around with when you aren’t occupied with your food. The food was great! My boyfriend and I got the«Gluten Free, Jk» brussels sprouts without the Wasabi Ginger and it was still one of the best orders of brussels sprouts we had– the goat cheese really compliments it well! We wanted to order a plate of Truffle Fries but just upgraded the fries on our«Hangover» burger, so that saved us some money($ 3) considering how much fries you get as a side anyway. I couldn’t decide what burger I wanted, so I ordered the Socal Sliders. From the three, I would have to say the Alexis Texas was my favorite just because it had a different texture cause of the mac and cheese. Our server Joe was pretty cool and welcoming. I definitely will be coming back for more, especially when the bar opens up!

Tried the Truffle Fries, SoCal Sliders and the G.O.A.T. All were extremely tasteful with plenty of flavor! Our service Kathleen was such a delight! Gotta try it once! We are coming back for sure and maybe we will try the Mac Attack next. So much to choose from!

Amazing I have to say. This is my new favorite foodie find. Come one where on earth in North Hollywood can you get gourmet burgers served along side with truffle fries? The first time I went there, I had the«Straight outta noho» fries which is kinda like carne asada fries on steroids. Instead of regular fries they use these huge criss cut fries, top with cheese, pico de gallo, guacamole, jalapenos, and chipotle ranch dressing. It definitely is not for the faint of heart. I tried to eat it by myself, and failed miserably. The next time I went I had the«hangover» burger which was delicious. It came with grass-fed beef, tillamook sharp cheddar, fried egg, chipotle ranch, arugula, bacon on a brioche bun. Come on where are you going to get this in North Hollywood among places? On top of that, they serve fresh homemade lemonade. The lemonade of the day is a must. The plus side is they offer bottomless refills. This is usually unheard of to find a place that has free refills on gourmet fresh lemonade. The staff is really friendly, and they know their menu. This is definitely my new favorite stomping ground

Was walking around Hollywood all day and it was around 8 pm on a Monday and felt like a burger. There were many options but the one that stood out was Blaqhaus. It looked like a place where you could get amazing food. After a long day walking I was very hungry and the place is not that visible from the street but it’s there and trust me you want to come in and try the food! We sat down and yes it was a little bright inside as people mentioned but you get over the initial brightness. Our waitress was named Web, and I must say she was an absolute doll, very kind and attentive, she went over the whole menu being it was our first time there and always checking up on us to see if we were ok. Thanks Web! As for the menu itself I was reading all Blaqhaus has to offer and I was engulfed and touched in a geniously-culinarious type of way. Yes this menu made me make up a few words. Lol. I was really hungry and I wanted to try everything on the menu. And as we were sitting and different plates that looks and smelled amazing kept coming out my decision got harder. But I did come to try the burger and with much hesitation because of all of the great options, I decided on the hangover burger with a side of truffle fries($ 4 extra). There was a little wait time but I don’t mind if the food is that good. Finally the food arrives, they say you eat with your eyes first and the presentation looked flawless. The burger was stacked with arugula, bacon and a fried egg. I cut it in half to see if it was cooked right and it was a perfect medium for my liking. Took that first bite and WOW! Every bite of that burger felt like the first. The truffle fries which they give u so many of them. And a few dipping sauces on the side were so fresh and addicting there was nothing left on the plate when we were done. My friend ordered the GTA tacos and they were so delicious we had to order another round of them. I can’t wait to go back I want to try the flatbreads and rib eye sandwich and maybe another burger. This is a place where everything is fresh and the chef loves his food and give you his love on a plate.

This place is relatively new. They’ve only been open for a few months. Rightfully so, they have some kinks to work out. They definitely have the potential to be awesome. My friends and I decided to try this place since it was so close and we saw the great reviews. Parking: they have their own private parking lot. Ambience: it can use some fixes. The artwork was pretty amazing, but the place was waaaay too bright. Food: definitely wasn’t bad. Their fries were nice and crispy, flavor was good. Drinks: the don’t serve alcohol. Bummer. I asked for a ginger ale and they just mixed Coke and Sprite together. Another bummer. Dessert: we didn’t get dessert. We actually watched another couple get the banana flambé… And the technique was off. Pretty much, their flambé didn’t flambé… And that’s the point of a flambé. It was a little disappointing, but like I said, I think they just need experience and some time to work things out. I’ll most likely give this place some time to ripen before I come back. Like I said, this place wasn’t bad. It just needs some more experience.

What a breath of fresh air to have an awesome restaurant so close by. It’s great that I don’t have to struggle looking for parking in either Noho Arts district or settling to valet when dining in Studio City. Parking is plentiful either street or in their private lot. Ordered: Popeye salad, being a carnivore, I’ve added meat for an additional price. The cherry vinaigrette tasted freshly made and the elements in the spinach, especially the edamame, made it a great bite. The meat quite flavorful and added warmth to the dish. Bruce Lee bao– Short rib super yum and the bao, just perfectly fluffy. Not mushy, nor stiff. Just right. You can dine in or outside. Inside is displayed with a nice mural of Los Angeles with a speckle of Noho landmarks here and there. Growing up in North Hollywood, I definitely appreciate it. Service was great. Super friendly. With all the positives to this place. I’ll definitely be back as I’ve only experienced the tip of the iceberg.

This place is fantastic! The décor, menus, etc were creative. I went with a friend & because everything on the menu looked so delicious, we ordered everything! Well almost. They brought out our orders and were probably concerned about how much food we were about to consume LOL. But everything was delicious! The panko on the mac and cheese totally made it for me. &THEWINGS. My goodness. I only had one because I was so full but if I wasn’t I would’ve finished the whole order.

Stopped by before heading to a play in NoHo so we wanted to grab something to eat close by. My fiancé was searching on Unilocal while she was driving and all she said was lemonade and truffle fries. That was all I needed to hear in order to give this place a shot. Upon our arrival, we noticed that it wasn’t that packed and it wasn’t a big restaurant like BJ’s, yet it was more like a smaller Hook Burger type place with excellent service. When we walked in the guy took our drink order while walking to our seat(which was kind of strange and cool at the same time) and we were quickly introduced to our waitress. My fiancé and I both decided to order the exact same thing, which never happens, but we decided to go with: 3SOCALSLIDERS — (DODGERBLEU) Grass-Fed Beef, Bleu Cheese, Bacon, Crispy Onions, Jalapenos, BBQ Sauce, Garlic Aioli, Arugula, Brioche Bun. My least favorite of the 3. Didn’t like the combination of BBQ sauce and jalapeño. (BLAQMAGIQ) Grass-Fed Beef, Tillamook Cheddar, Bacon, Crispy Onion, Chipotle Aioli, Tomatoes, Arugula, Brioche Bun. This was my favorite one! I will get 3 of these next time. The combination of these ingredients blended together perfectly! (ALEXISTEXAS) Grass-Fed Beef, 3 Cheese Mac+Cheese, Bacon, Jalapeño, Crispy Onion, BBQ Sauce, Brioche Bun. This one was my second favorite. The macaroni and cheese offset the BBQ sauce so it was manageable and actually pretty good! If you love BBQ sauce this would be the best one out of the two with it, I believe. TRUFFLEFRIES — Mojito Herb, Parmesan Cheese, Truffle Oil. These were really good! The fries were thin and crispy(love those). They reminded me of Umami’s fries but the cheese wasn’t melted on. LEMONADEOFTHEDAY — The lemonade of the day was a strawberry, rosemary and mint lemonade mix. My fiancé and I both enjoyed the lemonade but we saw there was a lychee lemonade they offered before. I REALLY want to try that one. So after experiencing this place, I’d have to say it’s a must try. We’ll be back again and hopefully it’s when they have that lychee lemonade! OOOOO 5 out of 5 Afros

Blaqhaus just seems slightly out of place in the valley but regardless, the food wasn’t bad. One main off putting thing? They haven’t really drawn out much of a crowd yet. So it may leave you confused about why it’s a bit empty. FOOD: Got the sliders(Dodger Bleu, Blaq Magiq & Alexis Texas– Alexis Texas was my favorite.), truffle fries that are for sure shareable, and the honey garlic/sweet chili wings. Completely missed out and forgot about the ahi tuna tacos! BUT for the ones we did order. Pretty standard bar type food. It fared well. No particular favorite but also no dislike. Nothing overly impressive. It pulls off for a last minute dine out. SERVICE: Got the greet. Got tasters of their lemonade of the day. However, they weren’t the greatest at clearing out the table when things were done & lagged on the check. For a Friday at 6:30PM there was hardly anyone there. Yet the workers seemed to just be chilling instead of being attentive to the few customers they did have. Top hits: — Easy parking — Not crowded(that really can be a good/bad thing depending on how you see it, of course) — Awesome mural dedicated to Hollywood & film

Looking for a place near Sun Valley to have lunch(was at the junkyard). I was expecting a few old school places. Maybe a deli or an old diner or something. But Blaqhaus was right there on Unilocal, boasting 4.5(4.5!) stars with over 100 reviews AND it was Hot n New. AND they had sliders! I wanted to love Blaqhaus! Everyone was so friendly, and the wall décor was so cool. Unfortunately it just didn’t live up to the Unilocal hype. Didn’t realize that they hadn’t gotten their liquor license yet, so no post-junkyard drink. They were out of bottled Perrier, and being out of something is pretty amateur. The sliders(sliders!) were, sadly, almost inedible for me. Each one was griddled to its own early death. I couldn’t tell where the molar-breaking crunch came from– the overly-toasted brioche minibun or the patty. I know the term«hockey puck» is thrown around a lot when describing bad burgers, but this one took the cake. Plus the overzealous topping of everything with Mac n cheese, bbq sauce, onion strings and bacon just didn’t work. You gotta get the basics down before throwing a bunch of other crap on there. Now this isn’t to say that Blaqhaus sucks. I could definitely tell that this was likely a one-off experience. The truffle fries were probably some of the best fries I’ve had in a bit(and I’m a total fry-bitch) and the service was oh-so-sweet. If I lived nearby I might stop in again. But I don’t so I hope to read more positive reviews of Blaqhaus in the future and I wish them the best of luck.

Blaqhaus is a refreshing restaurant in the heart of an unrenovated part NoHo. You would not expect this modern joint here. But I guess rent must be incredibly cheap being that it was an old sailor dive bar and barber shop back when El Pollo Loco took over Weinernitzel. The parking seems convenient although there is only 10 spots, I estimate. There is patio seating. As you walk in, there is no menu and the employees were dressed up in costume for Halloween. So, we were like, «WTF? Do we seat ourselves? Order first? What’s going on?» A lady clown turns around and says we can sit anywhere and that she will grab us waters and a lemonade sample. We order the lemonade of the day, which is a concoction of pineapple, blueberries, jalapeño, strawberry, and … lemons. My friend ordered the Glutten Free JK with Just Wing It. I ordered the Straight Outta NoHo and Alexis Texas. The Glutten Free JK was pretty good, kind of wish they were not so charred. The Just Wing It, not good. I’m bias though. I do not like saucy wings and these were super sweet. The Straight Outta NoHo was basically a steak nacho with crisscut fries. I love it. But the best dish of them all was the Alexis Texas. She made my mouth water with her two big buns and my meat in between. I couldn’t resist the pun. It was as easy as taking candy from a baby on Halloween. Please don’t take candy from baby, you guys. They are infested with germs. Hahaha. Seriously though, it was a larger burger, very juicy, with gems of jalapeños and BBQ sauce.

A modern, chill, great place to eat and hang out. They even have game boards:) Recommend: the lemonade of the day. I tried the mango with hint of jalapeño, Arnold Palmer and strawberry.(All perfectly sweetened and refreshing) The trio sliders.(All were so good) you could pick any of the 3. You should def try one of each. Wings(reminds me of Korean wing yummy) Fries(thinly cut and perfectly seasoned) A side of bleu cheese dressing to dip in everything!!! Last but least dessert!!! OREOSUSHI with WASABI. Such a whimsical and fun play on dessert. The nuts were so good. The wasabi was just green whipped cream. I literally licked my plate.(Thanks for the complimentary dessert) We will def be back soon:)
